  1. They also weren't among Joel Klatt's "top 10 with best chance to make the playoffs out of schools that haven't been there before." Neither was aggy.
  2. for the record - The Athletic's reporting https://archive.ph/a1EVe "Texas Tech built ‘best team money can buy.’ And Big 12 coaches have thoughts"
  3. I haven't seen this mentioned on this board yet so siap - Bruce Feldman said Tech was paying $750k to Ojo out of Tech's revenue share, per year guaranteed for 3 years. The $1.5M reported earlier is only if they're allowed to top off the 750 with NIL, or if it direct NIL payments by collectives aren't being enforced against.
  4. We're too damn busy to answer questions.
  5. former LEO was asleep at the wheel
  6. It's never the right day to answer difficult questions that demand your personal accountability or action. What you're not recognizing is that many of the answers -- like hey city manager what the fuck were you doing during the hours after the flood warning was issued -- are known to those people. It takes longer to bitch about being asked about it than it would to answer the damn question. What they do is dodge and then there's NEVER an answer. Learn the pattern.
  7. I agree but Wimberly flood wasn't that long ago. And this was a warning, not a watch so if they didn't take precautions based on it, that's pretty extreme negligence. They received no help from the city or county and that's a huge problem too. Someone with direct knowledge explained in this or another thread. I think maybe it was @C-Man ? Has to do with the cabin being next to the mess, small children, big hill... It hasn't gone away YET. Their responsibilities are statutory and that hasn't changed. But also you're mistaking "surprise" for "extreme anger."
  8. I get it. Many of us are going to have to learn the skills to produce meth or become meth salesman. But it's stunning that almost a week into a major disaster recovery and the director of FEMA hasn't shown his face nor made his way to Texas to do his job. It makes me me miss the mere incompetence of Brownie.
  9. "Tensions in here are high."
  10. For the record, he did basically say "so long"
  11. Delays in deployment of Federal search and rescue, and aerial imagery to aid in search - "Explained"
  12. Same ... and the one who told staffers, in a moment of sharing info in an all-hands meeting, that he had just learned the state of Texas is larger than Spain. But he was satisfied when he compared them on a map.
  13. "IN MY DAFENSE HE SPOOK SUCH GOOD ENGLISH!"
  14. It's really incredible how stupid this motherfucker truly is. ... nm already posted
  15. The Kerrville Mayor said he was very angry. And shockingly he wasn't referring to how the emergency was handled but about the way yesterday's press conference went.
  16. Grok fled to Argentina. Per Jordan Peterson.
  17. Will county politicians and officials be able to explain away their negligence? The discussion is intensifying. https://archive.is/p4XlT
  18. Some Democrats may be getting a clue (?) TBD
  19. My understanding is that beginning next year they're reducing the amount of the subsidies that make the plans affordable for many people. Also in an attempt to trick people into forgoing insurance, they're shortening the open enrollment period so pay close attention to when it's time to renew for next year. Theoretically the law could change if Congress opts to do so.
  20. There's new research showing global warming means more rain storms stall out over small areas and dump even greater amounts of water. The current models don't account for it but studying the phenomenon and figuring out how to model for it is exactly what Rafael wants to prevent NOAA from doing. Crazy stuff.
  21. Well I shouldn't have eaten the fried stuff anyway, dammit. But I probably shouldn't have assumed everyone knew they had a new version.
