  1. Of the 6 top newspapers in Texas, you might be wondering how many have endorsed Allred over the state's sitting Senator?
  2. "He's promising corruption."
  3. What you may not understand is -- besides his stated giveaways with tax cuts -- his policies will fuck the economy hard, kill residential real estate values, and significantly increase inflation. And that's just a start. If that somehow helps your bank account, then I guess you're bullet proof.

  5. Jfc, this thread took a particularly annoying turn. The NY Times, The WaPo. That's where Administrations officially leak their shit. Not to the "Middle East Spectator," a pro-Iranian Telegram channel.
  6. Dude - the Biden administration didn't leak the document. End of statement. Pay attention. If they had leaked it, it wouldn't have been to some pro-Iran Telegram account administrator. Pull your head out of your ass.
  7. That Nate Cohn article was such a worthless mess. It made me dumber, if that's even possible.
  8. Let's face it. Unless you're one of his cronies or have a hook-up, if he wins it's bad for every American. Even if they're a white supremacist. We'd all be fucked by his policies and incompetence, just like last time, only this time it'll be much worse because they actually have a plan and people with experience to enact it.
  9. he's on fire Gov. Walz: Trump went to a McDonald’s and dressed up as the drive thru worker. He mixed up his weekends and thought that it was Halloween already. He's been forgetting things lately as you might have noticed. He looks much more like Ronald McDonald than the clown that he actually is. And Ronald wears less make-up.
  10. bluesky video won't embed here (AHEM!) so you'll just have to use your imagination
  11. Early voting definitely tells you about expected OVERALL turnout. Correct me if I'm wrong but there's a proven correlation between the two. In concert with other statistics like new registrations, once you have enough data, I begin to form my own opinions. I like what I'm seeing in GA and PA. In AZ there's not enough data.
  12. That article leaves out and minimizes certain information to tell the story it wants to about a supposedly close horse race. Only 20 percent of 2020 mail-ins have been counted in AZ while in PA it's over 40% of 2020's total.

  14. One of the other passengers, from Florida, mentioned she preferred her cruise on Oceania over the cruise we were on. Everyone had their own favorites, including some who'd been on a ton of Sliverseas cruises. I didn't hear of anyone else onboard who was a first-time cruiser. A handful of other passengers had been on the ship for about 6 months. I can't fathom. The Silver Nova holds ~700 passengers, so not huge. Of the 5 at-sea days, there was only 1 sunny pool day as it was October, but it was also quite humid, so I didn't stay long. Also hanging out at a pool with a bunch of 70 and 80 year olds didn't entice. On the cooler days it was nice to be outdoors and listen to music or read. There was a ton of space, and the pool is supposedly one of the highlights of the SN because every lounger offers an ocean view. As my wife put it, the experience was underwhelming. If we wanted to eat filet mignon or pizza or grilled fish every night and dine al fresco on a beautiful, heated, wind-protected top deck in the middle of the ocean, we could have. But we were in Japan and as it was when we visited China and SE Asia, experiencing the country as some of the locals do -- especially the food -- is ordinarily a top priority. Except for the port where we stayed for 2 full days, we only got a glimmer of the different cities - we extended out own visit to see Tokyo and Kyoto more in-depth and that was generally the best part of the trip. We got talked into going on this cruise and I'm challenged to see a reason to try again.
  15. Lived through my first cruise, a 14 day tour around the main island of Japan. It included a stop in Busan, apparently due to international maritime law requiring a 2-country itinerary in many countries. Ship: new and beautiful. Silverseas Nova, just one year old. Best room: The fore of the 10th, top enclosed, level. Everything about it was great, except the food, which was mediocre, despite it being a high-end luxury line. All rooms had a deck with comfortable patio furniture, which was a must have amenity, imo. The rooms were spacious and comfortable; even the water pressure and shower exceeded expectations. Another pleasant surprise: No annoying fellow passengers, in particular, nor as a mass. I'd say the nationality of the passengers was equally split among Americans, Brits, Aussies and Spanish. It was a cruise of Japan which both enhanced and detracted from the itinerary. We were able to visit beautiful, enticing, far-flung cities in a highly convenient and luxurious manner with a minimum of effort on our part. On the other hand, the food served onboard paled in comparison to what one can find in a Japanese food court, let alone at an expensive restaurant. The toilets on the mainland, even at most train stations and shopping malls, were also an upgrade over what was furnished on the ship, which was basically an ordinary commode; I didn't expect to think about planning my shitting schedule around shore excursions. IYKYK. The onboard entertainment was nothing I'd seek out on my own. On a cost per-day basis, one could easily travel Japan to the same or similar cities and save bundles. It was a unique and likely one-time experience. There were many cruise enthusiasts on board. I don't get the attraction unless one is mobility limited, or strongly against navigating airports and train stations on their own. Also I imagine certain itineraries are much more difficult to recreate without the benefit of a ship. However I'd prefer to visit fewer locales or simply stay in one place. Although as a way to "scout" Japan and see where I might want to return it was great.

  17. Just returned from Japan. What an amazing country to visit. Scratched the surface of 8 cities. I'd go back to any of them but first pick to return would probably be Hiroshima - a gorgeous setting and a compact city with great transit and easy walking. Hakodate was also fantastic. I'd love the opportunity to further explore Hokkaido Island. Hakodate is scenic and hilly, and a great food city. Had one day there but would make a great weekend visit. I found Tokyo the most fantastic once we wondered into the least touristy parts of the city, which are often hidden in plain sight just behind the gleaming office towers on the main boulevards. Kyoto was a disappointment: Overrun by tourists and much more spread out than I anticipated. Had less than 2 full days there but should I return, it will be with a better plan than put in 30,000 steps and see as much as possible. OTOH it's very easy to find refuge in Kyoto, even if you have to go to the roof of a high-end department store. I was amazed by the lack of sound pollution in each city due to the quiet of the streets. Each city is pedestrian friendly, of course, but in particular the quiet engines of 99.9% of the cars, trucks and even motorcycles made city walking a joy. Finding good restaurants was incredibly easy. Navigation of the bullet trains was simple. I'd go back tomorrow if I could.
