  1. This post is 2 days old so SIAP but I don't think it was
  2. A PAC can't be funded by a foreign country. Illegal. (edited to add - the donation couldn't be used to fund election expenses. Upon further research AIPAC has 501c3's which are for outright political activity and couldn't accept foreign donations, but AIPAC itself is a 501c4, which is ostensibly for public education. A 501c4 could accept a foreign donation but it wouldn't be legal to use for political purposes. 501c3's have to disclose their donors. 501c4's do not; but they have to keep extensive records about their donors and expenses. I asked chatgpt to compare Bozeman to Billings for trauma care. Just out of mild curiosity. Comparison Summary: Level of Care: Billings has two Level II Trauma Centers (Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare), offering higher-level trauma care compared to Bozeman’s Level III and IV centers. Level II centers can handle more complex trauma cases and provide a wider range of specialized services. Scope and Resources: Billings’ trauma centers are larger and equipped with more extensive resources for managing severe trauma cases, including advanced surgical and critical care capabilities. Specialization: Billings' facilities have more specialization in trauma care compared to Bozeman, which may result in more complex trauma cases being handled locally in Billings. In summary, if you or someone you know requires advanced trauma care, Billings offers more specialized and comprehensive services due to its Level II Trauma Centers. Bozeman's facilities provide quality care but may transfer more severe cases to higher-level centers like those in Billings.
  3. Even if the dream comes true and Tesla were to achieve Level 5 autonomy, I don't grasp what impact it would have on their business. Would they then twirl and become a taxi company? They're not set up for that. Even the driverless cars like Waymo are going to have difficulty keeping cars clean in-between riders. Tesla's not preparing for that. Individual dudes renting out their vehicles while they sit home and play on their playstation aren't ready for that. And Uber/Lyft are inexpensive enough - there's no upside for a random tesla owner - but there is plenty of risk.
  4. I worked on this meme for 2 days and you just ruined it.
  5. Amanda Marcotte with some interesting thoughts about the Trump/Vance campaign's inability to cope.
  6. Yes, it's good for you that the price of FSD has increased (not counting the availability for $99 a day if someone wants to borrow the software) even while the vehicle itself has rapidly depreciated. Do you think FSD is going to be a big deal for some reason, or just a fun little game to play while you're driving?
  7. Shot Chaser Even the South Carolina newspaper (independently owned and conservative af) managed to fact-check the feeble-minded, sputtering ex-president. https://www.postandcourier.com/politics/trump-88000-sc-rally-fact-check-not-true/article_44834f04-55b7-11ef-b33d-4345fa6aa03d.html
  8. Leave twitter? Are you fucking kidding me??! Just take a look at how much fun is over there...
  9. Even with the stuff that others posted about who was polled, the shitty polling outfit, ALL polls within plus or minus 3 are basically 50/50 on accuracy.
  10. Yes but I know we agree - "weird" helped Harris coalesce her voters. The campaign went with it because it spoke to her supporters and those who wanted to support her. That in turn has her supporters turning out in force to her stump appearances, and donating money to her campaign like crazy, both of which show her tremendous support to those who are swayable non-supporters. Her stump speech -- and choice of Walz -- will help sway the undecideds.
  11. Other defendants remain, as you're right he did include some large advertisers as defendants. Also per Business Insider GARM only had/has 2 employees.
  12. Bro there is no way tesla's self-driving dream is going to work. You seem decent and reasonable, so I find it confusing that you don't get it. EVEN IF it eventually works the way they now say it will (with the driver paying full attention to the vehicle and ready to take control of the vehicle at any moment), a) so what? b) people are not trained to drive like that c) there's absolutely no personal advantage to driving like you're a full-time driving instructor But it's never going to drive as well as a human. Tesla knows it. FFS it looks like they're back to, or never stopped, committing fraud by falsely reporting accident data. https://doi.org/10.55329/llfl7748 Traffic Safety Research Journal https://tsr.international/TSR/article/view/25811 It's hysterical that they can't even get the software right to open the model x's falcon wing doors, but you think they're going to invent reliable full-self-driving software while relying on 6 cameras but not the expensive hardware that the competitors in the robotaxi industry use.
  13. as he pointed several times to the TOP of his ear. Guys, is that the ear lobe?
  14. I don't know the full context of this question however, in general, campaigns, when they can afford it, hire a pollster or even multiple pollsters to help them determine how to best market themselves. They'll test messages. They'll also frequently take polls to track the popularity of their candidate, either state-by-state or nationally. Public polls are infrequent, certainly too infrequent to be of use to a presidential campaign. Public polls are facially unbiased in the sense that they're not paid for by a particular candidate. However, public polls are not inherently more reliable than private polls.
  15. Yeah Hillary Clinton was too focused on giving a good answer instead of making Trump look like the asshole he is. She allowed him to intimidate her and was far too non-confrontational. Harris will have to walk a line between mocking him, answering the questions, and providing an upbeat message.
  16. Some nut from Pakistan via Iran was arrested a couple days and charged with trying to hire hit men to assassinate a bunch of US politicians, one of whom was Trump. He had money. Tried to hire random hitmen he found on the internet. Went about as well as you'd expect it to.
  17. Holy fuck. The Global Aliance for Responsible Media (GARM) issued a statement that they're just a small non-profit and don't have the resources to continue to operate while they also fight Musk. And so they just dissolved. The world has been so fucked by just a few hundred cunts like Elon. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/08/technology/elon-musk-x-advertisers-boycott.html For some reason images aren't uploading for me.
