  1. My understanding is that beginning next year they're reducing the amount of the subsidies that make the plans affordable for many people. Also in an attempt to trick people into forgoing insurance, they're shortening the open enrollment period so pay close attention to when it's time to renew for next year. Theoretically the law could change if Congress opts to do so.
  2. There's new research showing global warming means more rain storms stall out over small areas and dump even greater amounts of water. The current models don't account for it but studying the phenomenon and figuring out how to model for it is exactly what Rafael wants to prevent NOAA from doing. Crazy stuff.
  3. Well I shouldn't have eaten the fried stuff anyway, dammit. But I probably shouldn't have assumed everyone knew they had a new version.
  4. What does, "xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before grok posts on X" mean exactly, anyway?
  5. I wasn't sure what they were serving up. I'm just saying that to me the chicken had the texture of a stack of wet paper even though it's called "Spicy Crispy." There was decent spice, but no crisp. I generally find dark meat much more preferable but I was willing to try Culver's attempt at a spicy chicken sand. At least the onion rings were good, but they were rather stingy. When was the last time you ate there? As of June 16 their chicken sandwich has been revamped and they now offer a "spicy, crispy" version. They don't mention whether the supposedly crispy version is grilled or fried though I assumed it's fried. But if you're asking if I've had a ckn sand with grilled or fried thigh, the answer to both is yes, absolutely. If you get it, definitely 86 the lettuce and tomato.
  6. As suspected the nazi chatbox blew up Musk's world over a troll account.
  7. FEMA boss is AWOL per Marisa Kabas. "Staff at FEMA haven't received any internal communications from the agency or department leadership since the deadly floods in Texas, which is unheard of in the wake of a major disaster." "Acting Administrator David Richardson is 'nowhere to be found.'"
  8. Chopper replied to Stringer's topic in Movies and TV
Cinemark sucks but at least the one nearby has nice lounge chairs. It's the only theater chain in town.

See it in a luxury theater. Reserve your seat. Call ahead and find out how long the promos will run before showtime. Ours had 26 minutes of promos. So nice to walk in anytime 20 minutes after the scheduled start.
  10. Maybe it's location dependent.
  11. There's apparently a bunch of 'em attacking Erdogan, too. These are not those.
  12. Elon just deleted his original grok tweet.
  13. Fuck this shit - I can't tell for sure but it looks like there is no Rad_Reflections account - or else the user deleted it.

  15. Thanks ... so Grok didn't post that?
  16. I have no idea who the person referenced is but somehow the floods are turning discussion on xitter towards friending Hitler. Apparently.
  17. If there's a next time I'll have to remember to order it without mayo. However, the bun seemed under-baked and I'm not a fan of shredded lettuce on a burger. Also the cheese needed a lot more melt. InnOut's about 25 minutes from my house but I think I'd go there before hitting Culver's again even though it's 5 minutes away.
  18. https://archive.is/t1mGB spotted at the Parthenon T+1 days
  19. The spice level wasn't bad. The problem is they use white meat. In my defense I'm in Fort Collins so choices are very limited and Culver's was on my home and there was a valpak coupon. I should've know though...their burgers suck too.
  20. There's also the people on medicare who later have to go on medicaid because they need to go to a nursing home or similar, and medicaid is what pays for that. I have no idea what will happen to those people. A good friend just put her father in a nursing home that accepts medicaid...I expect if he's still alive when these changes go into effect he'll either become homeless or live with her in her smallish apartment.
