  1. It's funny to see what I presume are bunch of white guys with no understanding of how the law works finding out how it works because some fucking football player on their fantasy team got pulled over on a traffic stop and did too many wrong things.
  2. Did they pull their weapons when they ordered him out of the vehicle? If so, I missed it.
  3. Unlike you, apparently, I'm not able to read the cop's mind. I simply watched the video and observed what actually occurred. And as it happens, whatever was in the cop's mind doesn't fucking matter under the law. That's what I'm discussing here. The cop might've wanted him to exit the vehicle so he could have a good look at what was in it, and then if he saw anything he deemed suspicious use that as probable cause to search the entire vehicle. The cop might've wanted him out of the vehicle simply because he felt safer if he were in handcuffs for the duration of the stop if he were. All of that is legal and your feelings don't matter.
  4. That's actually exactly what they're saying. You say "zero threat" but as I've already stated, that's the whole point (nobody knows what kind of threat he was or if he has a weapon, or if he's going to fight them) and why you shouldn't fuck around when police order you to roll down your window or to exit a vehicle. edit - the dude was uncooperative, failed to follow orders, and his behavior was suspicious and bizarre. He gave the cops more than enough reason to pull him out of the vehicle.
  5. Hopefully you're drunk and not actually as moronic as it appears.
  6. Are you brain damaged or what?
  7. What part of "you're required to follow a LEO's orders to roll down your window and to step out of the vehicle" are you finding so difficult to grasp?
  8. And I wrote the exact same thing not more than 30 minutes ago. Michael Brown. Sandra Bland. Countless others have ended up dead because there's many bad cops in this country. While your best option is almost always to obey orders, sometimes even that's not enough.
  9. Yesterday - "It's hard. I don't want to bring race into it, but sometimes it gets kind of iffy when you do. What if I wasn't Tyreek Hill? Lord knows what those guys would have done. I just wanted to make sure I was doing what my uncle always told me to do whenever you're in a situation like that -- put your hands on the steering wheel and just listen." oops In fact the opposite was true. He thought because he's Tyreek Hill he didn't have to obey lawful police orders.
  10. PSA that there's 2 free months available of apple tv+ for anyone who wants it. Even if you've used the same MLB promo before you can use a different email address and a different first name and it should work for you. https://redeem.services.apple/fnb-so-amr-2024?rt=social&itscg=80218&itsct=s_mlb_partner_2024_offer Redeem it by September 27.
  11. So, again, you're saying you fucked around and found out. I'm genuinely sorry for you. However, your personal experience has nothing to do with the situation of this dude getting pulled over for speeding and then refusing to follow lawful orders.
  12. That would be a "you" problem bc I don't gaf.
  13. Sure no experience. Except for the parts about law school and working for the Innocence Project on behalf of people who claimed to be wrongfully convicted of crimes. So go fuck yourself.
  14. I don't think I'll be able to watch. I'm sure she'll kick his ass but I don't want the anxiety and infuriation. TBH I think she's going to put on a master class of how to treat that seditious asshole.
  15. The last police encounter I had was getting pulled over for speeding on the backroads of Louisiana between NOLA and Lafayette. You can bet i rolled down my window, kept my hands on the wheel at all times, and moved slowly to provide my i.d. as requested, etc. Was I cognizant at all times that the cop may just decide to fuck with me because I was a jew boy from the big city of Austin, Texas? You betcha. I don't like that's how it is. I felt safer getting pulled over for fucking up while driving in Slovakia for chrissakes.
  16. Michael Brown found out. Sandra Bland found out. If you give the cops any pretext to fuck with you, or murder you, they may just take it. Sometimes they don't even need pretext, they'll invent one. Unfortunately for the driver in this video he gave them plenty of pretext but luckily for him he came out of it alright.
  17. I don't know why y'all keep saying 3 seconds. From 30 seconds to 48 seconds of the video on the first page the cop is telling him to keep the window down. Then he's like fuck that, get out of the car right now. They told him 5 times to exit the car. They opened the door and the driver was just beginning to undo his seat belt, is what it looked like to me.
  18. What causes you to think that?
  19. What amazes me is how many of you are ignorant of the fucking law. And, while we're on the topic, why it is the way it is. Any and every asshole in this country is liable to have a deadly firearm on their person or in their vehicle. A cop never knows what they're walking up on. That's why they're programmed to give direct orders and why courts will back them up nearly every single time.
  20. LOL. They ordered him to roll down the window. And then they ordered him to exit the vehicle. If they don't think you're moving fast enough, you'll find out exactly the way the driver found out -they'll drag you out.
  21. Did I write something to the contrary?
  22. He failed to obey a lawful order. If you don't want to believe me, take a look at Mark Thiessen's website Your Rights During a Traffic Stop | Thiessen Law Firm (thetexastrialattorney.com)
  23. I'd guess that's why the cop asked him why he didn't have it on. Gave the driver the opportunity to incriminate himself.
  24. He was fine to stay in his vehicle until the moment the officer ordered him to exit. The officer isn't required to give or even have a reason to tell the driver to exit. I'm just telling you the law as courts have interpreted it, including the Supreme Court. These types of interactions are one reason some civil rights advocates are in favor of the use speed cameras. That way there's nobody getting pulled over and there's no chance for civilians to have this type of interaction with the cops over a small infraction.
  25. You're legally required to follow orders to roll down your window as well as to get out of the vehicle. This isn't about mere expectations, but if you don't keep your hands visible you're putting yourself at risk. These are things to know should you get pulled over. If you want to exit the vehicle even though a cop hasn't ordered you to, ask permission first.
