Baylor has a reputation for paying its coaches very well. Not surprised he took the position.
-
Rhule and Briles had positive head coaching experience before Baylor. The risk is much higher hiring a coordinator. That is where i am at.

Why did Glibert resign from McNeese?

I wonder if it's going to be Joey McGuire from Baylor, given the recent smoke that they're going for an outside candidate.
I would like that but I don’t think he would have already accepted since he is still in the running for the Baylor job.
Maybe Baylor has already told him he isn’t getting it ?

Him and Coleman together could make the punt returns at Texas special.
I hope so. So tired of cringing every time Texas fields a punt.

Hopefully it’s accurate

That was awesome to watch.

Not sure why Henry is still in the game.

These trainers seem to be a little toooo happy about this hire.
I’m thinking they are happy one of their own got a coaching job. Sort of validates them all.

We just fired a bunch of below average coaches that were plus recruiters.
Who besides Washington and Beck were considered plus recruiters? I considered most of the others poor recruiters.

if he is a plus recruiter and a below average coach, maybe Ash is assuming he can spend more time with the CB’s to compensate.

I think this would be great and he coached with Ash there before. Why would he come? No idea. Maybe Mattison is a grumpy asshole. Maybe we'll pay better?
Maybe they offer Assistant Head Coach to him to justify a higher salary but that seems like a stretch

I wonder if Skip Holtz will be considered.

That's what I remember: He was under consideration then got popped for DWI, and we moved on.
Yup. Now I remember it. Thanks

Billy Napier - though Nahlin thinks that Joey McGuire has a chance to be the next HC.
Wasn’t Joey McGuire being considered for a job at Texas under Strong and something happened and he didn’t pass the background check?

Someone do a gif of Charlie Brown missing the kick held by Lucy for the cowboys.
Jerry is Lucy, the ball are the playoff hopes of the cowboy fans and the kicker is McCarthy.

Tim Brewster may be going back to A&M?
What did I miss?

Just now, Tex Long said:
Can he coach TE? And ST?
I believe it was a tight end that got him in trouble last time at Texas. So no.

Damn. Wonder where Applewhite is going to end up. I thought he would get that job for sure.

A few different times I went back to look at Texas recruiting classes in arrears and was shocked at how many had massive failure rates, 50%+ in most years. There were only a few classes that hit on ~>60%+ rates. So it’s hard to know whether 2019 is closer to typical than unusual. I’m sure some dweeb on here will go back and run the numbers in every class from 2000 to 2019. That would be cool to see.
I’ll go back and look over Texas Football magazines that are 10-15 years old and it is amazing how many highly rated kids never produce for one reason or another. It isn’t just Texas.

It’s odd that both UCLA and USC are both doing so poorly at the same time.
-
I’m really hoping we are running up the middle to set up a bunch of stuff for the second half because it ain’t working.

Sam has had several slow starts. Hopefully he turns it around.

So both coordinators are coaches he has worked with in the past. Interesting.
