  1. So when they lay down next week for Bama, how close does UGA have to keep it for it to look legit?
  2. Nice waste of your TO
  3. Why
  4. I don't think he controlled that edit: yes he did but it was also OPI
  5. Bama online never gets set
  6. Wow!
  7. I'm no Bama fan but I don't know about that one...
  8. Huge missed opportunity there by Auburn - cue the Bama comeback beginning here
  9. The "part 1" video in the twitter link above shows the goal line INT that was called an INT on the field. Tech was flagged for excessive celebration after the play. The play was reviewed and reversed without conclusive video evidence. The celebration penalty was enforced. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Throughout the game there had already been a handful of close-could go either way-calls that video evidence was inconclusive so the calls on the field should have stood. However, a reversal occurred every time the call on field favored Tech and the play stood if the call on field favored the Clones. Every. Time. But, the nonsense actually began in the 1st qtr on a play ruled an INT for the Clone defense in which a review never took place. Tech took a timeout to get a review and still didn't receive one.
  10. Yup.
  11. Oh good grief!!! BYU is 3 years too late to be bringing their version "no defense played" to the Big12
  12. Game on in Provo ....and that targeting call was BS
  13. I hate Rapelor as much as the rest of you. But they are the answer to the question of what does Hocutt expect.
  14. have noticed that that shining and wonderful conference you just joined - the SOUTHEAST Conference - you, know, in the south east - the humid. south. east - plays an awful lot of day games too???
  15. If the Mouse wants you in your new house by '22, the Mouse will do what's necessary to make that happen
  16. With the ESPN Mouse calling the shots, I imagine negotiations are under way to roll exit fees into a new media deal
  17. Found this in the Herbstreit is a douche waffle thread. Patrick asks an interesting question. Fast forward to 8:00
  18. If SC and Oregon leave, then Mich and tOSU will follow them to “Japan” to join the SECSECSEC in ESPN’s Blue Blood League
  19. You know what else gives them a shit ton of money? ESPN’s League of Blue Blood College Football which is where this is all going. There’s actually several things that can be all happening at the same time. * the ESPN and SECSECSEC want an expanded CFP ($$$$$$) * the “hand shake alliance” is a voting block against CFP expansion unless concessions are made that guarantees they each get 2 teams in * the PAC not expanding might be an indication that it is they who might implode with USC and Oregon heading west to join the League of Blue Blood College Football * the remaining B12 are scrambling to find new landing spots for both the long term and short term (short term being 3-5 yrs) * The non SEC blue bloods are posturing and saying one thing publicly while trying to figure out how to leave their respective conferences and media deals * If no “alliance” blue bloods leave now, the the League of Blue Blood College Football will take other teams as a stop gap for the short term to get things rolling. This is how Tech and oSu get in the mix. * It’s possible that Big12 expansion talks are including non-blue bloods from the “alliance” conferences just to test the water. If true, the League of non-Blue Blood College Football could be pretty good and be worthy of decent media attention ($$$) It’s fascinating to watch how all the pieces and moving parts are playing out. But, having said all that, I hope none of it happens. And I don't say that because I pull for a team that isn’t a blue blood. I say that because I don’t wish to see CFB become NFL lite.
  20. Very true. And it’s an end game that I don’t want to see happen. But let me ask you this, and this is not meant as an insult to the home team of this community here, why did the SECSECSEC need Texas and OU? It was asked above why does the SECSECSEC need Texas Tech Same can be said of the Sooners and Horns - while it’s great for both schools, theSECSECSEC doesn’t need either of them. The SECSECSEC is already dominating CFB and the playoffs. They are already printing money faster than they can spend. Their media presence is already huge - even in Texas. Their teams already get the pick of the litter in recruiting. But there is one answer to all of it. E.S.P.N. They want to control, it is argued they already do, but they want to run CFB free and clear of anything the NCAA has to say about it. But they don’t want the hassle of babysitting 120 schools. Nope, they want a league made up of the elite few - basically the blue bloods and a few others. So, start with the biggest conference first as your foundation. and then start picking off teams bit by bit. They probably would have been cool to stand at 16 for awhile why GORd expire but the rumblings coming from the BIG/PAC this week that they aren’t ready for change means they need to give the elites in those conferences a little nudge and they do that by moving on without them vis-a-vie further expansion now. And right now, the two biggest P5 free agents on the board are Tech and oSu. (I say free agents because we all know the B12 as a P5 is dead)
  21. I agree that Tech and oSu are not their top targets. But (a) they help solve the GOR issue with the Big12 and (b) they further solidify the huge Texas market (c) ESPN and the SECSECSEC aren't building a conference, they are building a league and somebody has to be the Detroit Lions of said league
  22. Look, I'm not a fan of the new future of CFB either but I'm not sure I can deny that a massive downsizing is the further ala an NFL lite style league free from the shackles of the NCAA. The SECSECSEC's move to add OU and Texas was the latest step in that direction. Had the BIG/PAC/ACC all followed suit, the first culling of the herd would have occurred with 64 teams being the magic number in a neat and tidy 4x16 setup. And it's theorized that after a few years another downsizing down to 32 would occur. Yikes! That leaves out a lot of good teams. Definitely not a fan of that but one thing to be certain of, if you want to be one of the 32, you best be one of the 64. This would have, more than likely, given a landing spot to most of the remaining B12 and that league would be no more. So yeah, Tech and oSu were hoping for a landing spot in the PAC. But if the 4x16 does not happen, then the push to 32 or perhaps 48 might happen sooner than later and it is that scenario in which Tech and oSu to the SECSECSEC is entirely possible.
  23. They don't. But the BIG/PAC just proved they are no longer interested in big boy football - well, the future of big boy anyway - they still want to hold onto the past. The SECSECSEC would have been fine with 16 if everyone else moved that way too. Why? Because the Big12 would have been spread around and it would be officially dead. No GORs. No payouts. The news of this week shows that the BIG/PAC are unwilling to play their role in this re-imagining of CFB as we know it. The SECSECSEC will move the needle forward on their own if they have to and it is at that juncture we now sit. ESPN is driving this as well as it is they who are writing the checks. If taking a couple more BIG12 teams does that (dissolving the conference) then yeah, that's exactly what they'll do.
  24. Yeah, really. This is about the end of the NCAA as we know.
  25. Does anyone really think the SECSECSEC is gonna stand at 16? The SECSECSEC is pushing for a new league, not just a new improved conference. The lame alliance presser yesterday and the PAC's announcement today says that they're perfectly happy to remain living in the past. I fully expect the SECSECSEC to go ahead and make the move to 20-24 rather quickly and it'll probably includes some of the leftover 8 which would also move the needle closer to getting out of the B12's GOR. Grab Tech, oSu from B12 and FSU, Clemson from ACC to get to 20 and make overtures to SC, Oregon, Mich, tOSU to see how serious they are about their devotion to the Rose Bowl.
