  1. Even if we somehow pull the upset and get Prothro today, it will stretch the notion of having picked up a TE. Dude seems like a hybrid receiver, and he evidently expects to leave real blocking to others. But that's Sark's business to sort out, should we beat everyone for the kid. I'm more curious about the bunch of TEs already in the room. It would seem hard to keep Townsend's talent off the field, and Winston has impressed the staff already. Then there's Washington, who has potential when healthy. If Endries doesn't go pro in 2026, I'll be surprised if all these other guys finish at Texas.
  2. Buncha Debbie Downers need to sack up. We're Texas.
  3. Hoping Matthews somehow would walk so we could get Trammell up with men on is a sobering realization of our abject suckitude. It's simply not an MLB lineup.
  4. Tell me again why Walker bats ahead of Diaz.
  5. Guess we pulled that Smoke wagon and saw what happened.
  6. Evidently not. Flat as a flounder. Had we looked against LA the way we have since, I'd have understood it. I mean, I'm glad we didn't, but the amazing parlor tricks we've been using aren't working this week. Regression to the mean, yada yada.
  7. This is playing with both hands tied behind our backs. And maybe both legs. Show some life out there.
  8. Getting weak, inexperienced hitters to string together at least three singles to get a run home strikes me as a bad idea. I realize that's sort of who we are right now, but we were in LA, too. Somebody announce their presence with authority.
  9. What's next? Could it be...
  10. Were Texas the second choice of each of the nation's 5-star prospects, that would sound really impressive. Until you realize we actually signed no one. But let's see where it goes from here. Just glad we already have verbals from some stud linemen, Bell and Bishop.
  11. Reverting to our old "beat contenders on the road, lose to dregs in Houston" pattern? I'd rather we not.
  12. Can't say I prefer that my bruising PF hang around the arc much, but with touch like that...I'll allow it. Hook 'em, Declan.
  13. Not our pitching standard. Maybe the most dependable part of tonight's lineup can rally.
  14. Ugh. Not a great night for us smacking the ball around. Then again, 5 runs against these guys should have been enough.
