  1. Assuming aggy shows up. I doubt they do in every sense.
  2. If so, the spin will be, "We're just being extra careful, looking out for Connor long term. We wouldn't jeopardize a young man's future just to win a football game." Should Reed then turn out to have a pulse, they'll maybe "work Connor back in carefully" in some low-leverage situation. It could then morph into, "Reed's got a nice rhythm right now, and we don't want to mess with the chemistry on offense." OK, chances of Reed doing anything noteworthy are slim. But aggy won't need much to serve as cover for their gallant fallen warrior.
  3. Oh, he's serious. "Alla-ca-zoo" is his incoherent yearning for the return of prodigal son "Calzada."
  4. See above concerning our inability to draw HBPs. We need baserunners! Love the bottom of the lineup making big things happen.
  5. Until further notice, you can no longer throw this guy when it matters. And with our offense, we're rarely far enough ahead for it not to matter.
  6. More shutdown relief in a high-leverage situation. Let's see if this washed-up dude can keep from costing us a win.
  7. Don't forget 27th in drawing walks. Make that 5-for-36 for Bregman with runners on since the break. 😡
  8. Awesome pickup. Nice to grab a top-level DB from that part of Georgia (or anywhere).
  9. Given the historical talent level on campus at ASU, I doubt Tapp is "doing nothing." Meanwhile, aggy shows Bama isn't the only program who can sign a Waddle.
  10. I'm especially interested in seeing if aggy can hold onto parts of the Houston area to the extent they have. There's just not much to feel good about with that program right now. Meanwhile, we're rounding up most of the oxygen in the room. Of course, Mensa cleaned up on highly rated Houston prospects a few seasons ago, and most turned out to be meh in Austin or elsewhere. But year in and year out, I'd far rather dominate recruiting in that region than not.
  11. I certainly understand wanting your guys to succeed and showing confidence in them to do so. Then again, there have to be limits on hopes and hunches. Conventional wisdom isn't always right, but it's the way to bet.
  12. Yeah. It obviously happens at some point in most games, but it doesn't seem like it when there are 2-out hits to score critical runs in tight games. Maybe it's no more than other teams, but feels like our BP is having to pitch around a lot more traffic than they did for several years there.
  13. Has an Astros reliever retired three straight guys lately? And by lately I mean since the Ford administration.
  14. If there's anything this team couldn't use, it's a first baseman. 😡
  15. Bad managing to let this continue. I don't care about getting Tucker back in the flow if it's going to cost us games doing it.
  16. Hard to believe they pitch to 44 at all right now. I'd IBB him every time with Tucker behind him. Probably should have put Diaz or Bregman between those guys.
  17. Nothing builds muscle like rapidly shoveling too much food into your mouth.
  18. Manly play by Moore. Guy is just a beast. I eagerly await his intro to young Mr. Arnold.
  19. JV's 94 heat 6 inches above the zone still could work. But only if Yainer is batting, not catching.
  20. Good to see 3/5 of the vaunted aggy OL were rewarded for dominating McNeese. That's a challenge far greater than Graham and Grant posed in the Big House.
  21. Many chuckles to pick from on this one, but that's maybe the best description I've ever heard of a bad defense.
  22. They'd already moved past Weigman a few days ago and were saying they need DJ to deliver them out of the wilderness. I'd say that outcome is doubtful. I wouldn't be shocked if DJ left UF, but I just can't see him heading to aggy.
  23. Texas 41-3 seems about right. We're not needing to bitchslap Joey McGuire on the way out, so I think Sark dials it back and subs plenty. Passing goes 240/153/0.
