  1. Imagine how few he'd walk if facing our ML roster.
  2. Let's hope this egregious snub will light a fire under Chas.
  3. That Neris outing was huge. Welcome back, dude.
  4. Big-time effort right there. Hope everything is still connected.
  5. Big man will be clearing the way.
  6. He phrased it that way, but who knows? I'd think he'll be getting in some early FB work as well. All that seems certain is that he's skipping the 2024 MLB draft.
  7. Great news. Now that he's actually committed to play college football, I'm ready to start envisioning his potential and future role(s). Somebody in the know give me a realistic comp or two.
  8. We probably have the pitching to hold any October opponent to 3 runs. Of course, we also have the offense to hold ourselves to fewer than 3.
  9. Unfortunately, Doobie knows how to whiff.
  10. I'd rather see a gassed Framber (still mainly throwing strikes) against a pedestrian righty than Tayler throwing to a talented lefty. But Joe knows.
  11. I've never rooted for Duke, but I'm really pulling for Murphy to lead the Blue Devils over Mack. And that's fair.
  12. That's a long way to travel just to lose to GT.
  13. Team culture move. No point in letting the kid start thinking PT is tied to performance.
  14. Last night was such a refreshing team performance all around. Let's figure out how to bottle that. It wouldn't have taken much more offense to this point to have us in way better shape today. Among teams that are .500 or better (both leagues), we still have the worst record in 1-run games (14-21) and extra innings (5-8). Really hope the new guys can keep helping and that Bregman and Tucker find their way back into the lineup soon. Keep pitching as the staff has lately, add another run of two per night and my prediction of a disastrous end to the season hopefully will prove incorrect.
  15. If he can at least hold onto the ball and help slow down EDGE or LB pressure by .2 seconds, he'll prove useful. Both skills are needed when you're up 34-14 and trying to minimize wear and tear on the 2-deep. Glad to get someone like him at this juncture.
  16. We haven't scored the way our team BA suggests we should have. Across both leagues this year we're 3rd in hits per game but only 12th in runs scored. That's down nearly a half-run from 2023. Maybe in large part because we're an abysmal 27th in walks. Tucker being out so long of course hasn't helped, but replacing Maldy with a .300 RBI generator you'd think might have offset that. Hopefully Tucker soon returns and kick-starts the run production.
  17. Actually a pretty representative sample of our offense this year.
  18. Pena batting cleanup is madness. Any ball Diaz can reach with 3 "hitting" behind him is probably one that got away from the pitcher.
  19. Pena at cleanup would be a curious choice even in Jeter's rec league. I'd much rather have Caratini there, no matter the impact on righty-lefty flow from there down through 9.
  20. Could be extra tough to hit this way.
  21. I didn't think he'd get to 30 but would be easily over 20. Might still eclipse last year's 23 with a continued hot streak. Regardless, pretty impressive for a kid taking on a ton of responsibility behind the plate and having no real protection behind him.
