  1. I'm fine with giving another shot to the defensive player who wants to stay at Texas just because we suddenly have a bloodthirsty (and bloody) chieftain manning the whiteboard.
  2. It probably takes 60-65 players to have meaningful practices, play all the games and give yourself enough cushion for an in-season viral outbreak. Virtually all get to play in a few games. Adding another 10-15 guys is reasonable, if only because there's room on the bus and sideline towels won't wave themselves.
  3. Even on an off night for Booker.
  4. Lee is our best all-around player? She's really good, but Booker is still better.
  5. With annual agreements, maybe schools need to start viewing freshman NIL as a "signing bonus" with no "salary" component. Then, the next year, there's nothing on which to base a "raise" or "pay cut"; negotiations start with a clean slate for both parties. Let the games begin.
  6. Single-game contracts would really take it up a notch. New draft every Tuesday morning.
  7. Even without water, which just makes it all the more impressive.
  8. Maybe our indoor plumbing will make the difference.
  9. Solid list. I'd likely throw in Kade Phillips. Too soon to list any of several freshmen, but their time is imminent.
  10. Much rather have our Vanderbilt guy than their Vanderbilt.
  11. That's a lot of flights into Austin for height and weight checks.
  12. Might as well pin this at the top of the thread.
  13. Unwatchable on both ends so far
  14. Flattened like a tortilla
  15. You're overlooking the obvious here: Possum is way cheaper than brisket.
  16. Insert "Texas" anywhere you see "Ohio State" or "Buckeyes" and it's a nearly perfect overlay. The dilution of CFB bluebloods into mediocrity seems well under way.
  17. Yes, though seldom have two young TEs been any less similar. Washington lumbers as though Townsend is riding on his back.
  18. I doubt we're the only CFB junkies folks noticing the cascade of misses in Austin, but you're right in that the true results will have to play out on the field. For now, we fans are just wheezing canaries in the coal mine.
  19. When perception of a program sours this drastically and quickly, it's up the HC to simultaneously fix it and reassure everyone he's done so. None of us can do that for him. A penny for CDC's thoughts right now.
  20. So...how's that Cojoe rehab going?
  21. Valid questions. Once you accept the bowl invitation, you of course have to run someone out there at every position. Maybe it's possible to start re-signing guys before a team plays in the post-season? I don't know the rules on that, if they even exist.
