  1. Yes. Oh, you mean football? No, not football.
  2. As long as Arch isn't aiming it.
  3. Total clown show on offense. Nobody has a clue. Bad throws aren't helping, but they're by no means our only issue.
  4. To me, that's the main reason he's a decent comp for Wingo. Partially tapped potential is always frustrating.
  5. Malcolm Williams. If he improves.
  6. UTEP has some guys on D. That said, our run blocking to this point has been sketchy at best.
  7. Dreadfully executed
  8. So OU's band didn't travel to Philly today because of "budget constraints?" Blueblood indeed.
  9. Gideon needs to figure out something shortly.
  10. Maybe, just maybe, Haynes King wasn't the real problem at aggy.
  11. Clemson is ordinary but might luck out and win anyway. I hope they don't.
  12. Obligatory, amirite?
  13. I'm sure Colton pleased a random fan from Iron City, GA. The Braves evidently have a contest in which a home team HR in a specified inning wins the chosen fan some coin. Worked out to be Acuna's blast, which won said fan $2800. No word if he's offered Gordon a percentage of that.
  14. I literally love Zach Cole.
  15. Last rookie CF I was this intrigued by was Cesar Cedeno. *I realize he's in LF tonight, but he mostly plays CF.
  16. Move Altuve up to 3 and maybe he can squeeze in another K tonight.
  17. Can he at least pitch the 9th, then?
  18. Altuve obviously is our GOAT, or on a very short list. But whether mostly chasing rings or 3000 hits, he's doing a lot of things backwards to get there. When he hit the skids a few weeks ago I saw some fans claiming he'd bounce back any day, because he'd recently destroyed the Yankees in their park. But he hasn't. Every HR he pulls seems to make him more convinced he can yank the next pitch over or at least deep into LF. But that's not what made him special in the first place. He has to go back to hitting the ball where it's pitched. The slower his hands get with age (everyone's do), the more he has to just look to make solid contact. The coaches need to coach that, and he needs to listen.
  19. About as good a summation as I've read. I was pretty ambivalent about losing Bregman, Tucker, Verlander and Pressly, despite their career track records. But once Paredes went down, and then Hader, the bubble burst. Maybe we just haven't had enough horses to get it done, though I can't find any excuse for the apparent lack of leadership with this bunch. The veterans have only days left to show they care as much as the fans do.
  20. I've seen enough bad baseball in the past two months to last me a lifetime. I know some fans are trying to wish it all away and think we'll "turn it on" any day now, but seems to me we're only getting worse. Thankful for Texas football and volleyball in the near term.
  21. Two garbage foulouts to 1B by the GOAT who's quickly becoming the goat. But Javier is throwing BP anyway, so whatever. It's a train wreck in slow motion.
  22. This clown show is no longer entertaining. Fire the ringmaster.
  23. True. But for now, I'd let him "break out" at 6 or deeper in the lineup. Not that other options at 4 are great, but I'd much rather have Diaz there while he's swinging it well.
  24. Hmmmm. Altuve at 4 seems bad. Put Diaz there. We're hamstrung enough with Trammell and Dubon in the lineup.
  25. I started to add a "but" diatribe noting that Altuve has fallen off the face of the earth, but I decided to see if he might do anything at all productive over the next few weeks. I doubt he will, but who knows? I suspect he's somewhat like Verlander: old and stubborn and at this point only occasionally useful. Hate it but won't deny it if he doesn't come around before October.
