  1. Could be extra tough to hit this way.
  2. I didn't think he'd get to 30 but would be easily over 20. Might still eclipse last year's 23 with a continued hot streak. Regardless, pretty impressive for a kid taking on a ton of responsibility behind the plate and having no real protection behind him.
  3. I wouldn't give him a choice to do otherwise. Then again, I wouldn't have him in the lineup.
  4. The Sox have a little of our offense in them. This week, I'm glad.
  5. Another meltdown in the Boston bullpen, huh? Too bad they didn't offer us some big bat for Pressly. Devers would have been acceptable. And surely our guy would have waived his no-trade to go to such a storied franchise.
  6. Aside from Wagner? 😝 https://www.mlb.com/player/will-wagner-695238
  7. Has a guy ever auto-whiffed and then walked it off with a 400-footer on the next swing? Seems highly doubtful.
  8. I'll take first AB of the game Altuve against any and all situations in which we really need him to drive in a run late.
  9. Are lefty Ks more productive than righty Ks?
  10. I wasn't a fan of pitching Abreu again yesterday, for the reason you mentioned. But in general, I'm all for him moving him to the 8th in Pressly's absence...and hopefully after he returns. If nothing else, swapping the order for those two guys might help my stress level, despite Abreu's penchant for leadoff walks.
  11. What changed? Did the family suddenly fall in love with Red Stick? Did LSU suddenly tell him they felt he could play corner? Did Texas suddenly turn off the love once committed? All those seem unlikely.
  12. That was a great ending. The Yankee LF's double clutch was just what the Tigers needed.
  13. Silver sombrero isn't a good look for anyone.
  14. I love it when teams pitch Diaz in there. Definitely his wheelhouse.
  15. Couldn't ask for a much better Saturday bounceback than that. Well done.
  16. Seriously, with all the random arms they've had on the mound this year, what's up with the ongoing Whitley snub? What suggests he'd be less effective than other call-ups?
  17. I left Texas shortly before they started offering lifetime licenses back in the '80s. In the 40 years since, I've spent thousands for tags to hunt our own place in the Hill Country. The fact I've also hunted a lot of other Texas places in that span has softened the blow, but not much.
  18. Neither were the guys he didn't play. I mean, you're obviously not wrong, but we all knew that was a crap lineup the moment it was announced. The surprising disappointment was Diaz, who gave a wonderful rendition of a kid flailing at a piñata.
  19. David Pierce might have done better. I think that answers the question.
  20. Only the epic fail of Seattle and Arlington at the last minute kept our sleepwalking from biting us last year.
