  1. Lots of baseball coaches gonna be getting raises these next two weeks.
  2. Like the asparagus gene. But for Popeye's.
  3. Either ban pushing of the ball carrier by offensive players, or allow the defense to do the same in the trenches.
  4. Mission: Impossible, Bond, and Bourne films are all in my "eat a bunch of edibles and fall into the couch while watching an action movie" franchises. I'm stoked. Not sure when I'm gonna see it yet, though.
  5. Is Jabari Mack an imminent flip candidate? Feels like Gerry's wording was very intentional. I could be reading too much into it
  6. Do you think his offer from the Ags is still good? That t-shirt tells everyone's he's contracted the woke mind virus.
  7. George Wendt was a big fan of the Replacements, and really a lot of indie/alternative/punk bands. See the post above of him at a show in a Billy Bragg t shirt. For Replacements super-fans, there's a pretty cool documentary called "Color me Obsessed" that interviews fans, other musicians from the Minneapolis scene, roadies, etc. None of the Replacements are in it. But it's still very good. Anyway, they interview George Wendt and he said he always sort of thought "Here Comes a Regular" was inspired by Norm's Cheers character. That's probably not exactly the case, but Norm is the quintessential "regular" so regardless, it fits.
  8. I don't think "HOT TAEKS" NFL fans give a shit about college football.
  9. They're completely incapable of saying "damn. we got beat." There's always a conspiracy, but it's only identified retroactively after the loss.
  10. Saw it a few nights ago. It was...... goodish? Maybe I'm just not into vampire musicals? The first half of the film was really good. Then came the vampires and the songs. All of the songs. They were good songs too! But it was all a little much and felt kinda corny (especially the vampire white-devil jig scene. Huge eyeroll there). I was disappointed, but I know I had my hopes up too much. Like the idea. Didn't love the execution.
  11. Anwar and those fucks at OBs are hinting that a commitment from 27QB Peyton Houston may happen soon. https://247sports.com/Player/Peyton-Houston-46135085/
  12. This season is only the first half of the second game. It will not "wrap up" this season.
  13. The scenes involving the infected, the wolves and the cult are great. The scenes about Ellie and Dina's budding relationship are pretty fucking terrible.
  14. I don't need a fucking commission to know that Cody Campbell wants to retain enough NIL flexibility to allow Tech to be more competitive than the SMUs and the Baylors of the world, but also limit how much Texas (and to a lesser degree A&M) can spend. What a shit show.

So a bunch of tween pop and mom-core. No thanks. I'm out.
  16. After landing Baxter and Gibson, I just assume we are going to take the top-rated back out of Florida every year. It will be the same with Cooper.
  17. This has to tank his chances at making the Hall of Fame. Feels like it was a sure thing before all the pervy bullshit came to light. What a fucking idiot.
  18. It's a great place to see boobs. Unlike this show. Am I right?
  19. He's showing up on a lot of early first round mocks. But I think most of this is still just draft guys looking at who was a 5-star coming out of high school that has played meaningful snaps and hasn't already busted.

I don't get that band. Everyone I know loves them. Theoretically I should like them. I just feel like I'm being yelled at by a cartoon version of a british tough guy.
  21. Fucking love Jimmie Dale. Some of my buddies were staying with me for SXSW as their band was doing a bunch of shows, and we met him at Polvo's. I only fanboy'd out a tiny bit. His wife (I think?) asked if we knew him from the Big Lebowski. I said that while I am familiar with Smokey, that we were actually fans of the Flatlanders. A few years later I saw the Flatlanders at the Paramount. It was kind of a roundtable situation and Joe Ely ended up taking Dallas, which really pissed me off, as I wanted to hear Jimmie Dale sing that one.

I grow to love this band more and more each passing year. Their career is fucking remarkable. The thing that's most impressive to me is that they've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and they continue to put out fantastic new records that don't feel like they're trying to recreate what has been previously successful, but instead feel like an organic evolution of their own unique sound. Seriously, how many bands that have been around for 30 years put out a record as good as Lucifer on the Sofa? And they haven't released a single stinker. Some are better than others, but nothing they've ever put out is bad. There's no fucking Spaghetti Incident here. So impressive. Anyway, here's my favorite song by them:
  23. OK. Well, that's just as dumb, but at least I understand the dumb point now.
