  1. I love Kevin Costner the actor. But Kevin Costner - writer, executive producer, and director - does not give me a lot of confidence. But I hope I'm wrong.
  2. When I lived in Chicago every Thursday they would have pretty good/popular musicians/bands play the amphitheater at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park. In 2009 one of the bands scheduled to play one night couldn't make it for whatever reason. So someone thought it would be a good idea for Shellac to fill in. This was a popular event for many Chicagoans because shows were relatively early and outside in the amazing summer months. Younger families would attend regularly knowing nothing about the bands that were playing because it was a fun thing to do on a Thursday night. You could bring a blanket, snacks, beer and wine and chill. Shellac came out after the supporting band and opened with Prayer to God as loud as fucking possible. As soon as they got to the chorus of "Fucking Kill Him" there was a mass exodus of moms and strollers like watching ants headed back to the hive. It was hilarious and punk as fuck and I will never forget that moment. Steve Albini made and recorded some of my favorite albums ever. 61 is far too young. But that motherfucker burned bright during his time here. A life well-lived.
  3. Mountain lions ain't wandering neighborhoods at noon looking to pick-off dogs. Also, I'll definitely tackle a coyote to save my dog's life. I'm not so sure I'd be storming out like Leroy Jenkins to tackle a mountain lion.
  4. I understand there's not a lot to talk about, and it's easy to get off topic. But if we're gonna have a side-bar, can it be something funny or more interesting than "can you change your throwing motion"? You fucking imbeciles are killing me here.
  5. "8-4 is not good enough. I'm expecting 10-2"
  6. You're a fucking idiot. His knees are fucked. He had three days off and he had absolutely no lift, no ability to cut, no ability to drive. He's got like 40 hours to try to get better. I'm hoping for a miracle recovery, but it's not looking good if he looked like that after 3 days of rest. But I see all these dumb mf'ers like Navin R. Johnson questioning Luka's drive, competitiveness and conditioning. I'd love to see anyone play 40+ minutes of NBA playoff basketball, on a sprained knee, getting absolutely pummeled. He's not lazy. He just can't move.
  7. No doubt they're stacked. But they're stacked every year. And they always manage to trip over their own dicks. And that's usually with an elite QB. Now they're stacked with Will Howard.
  8. Tis the risk we all run when we sit down at the table of Shank and ask "how long are these leftovers good for?"
  9. Because of the importance and commodity of the position, I predict Quinn will go in the top-10. I don't know if he deserves to go that high. As we saw in the draft this year, if you think you can get a guy to be your QB for the next 10 years, you will do what you need to do to go up and get him, regardless of where he's slotted on the "big board". Quinn's either going to be in that top group of QBs that emerge after the end of the season and go top-10, or there will be serious questions about his mechanics, his deep ball, and his decision making and he'll go in the 2nd or 3rd round (don't see that happening). But I definitely don't see him being selected 15ish based on how QBs are selected in the draft.
  10. What does all this shit have to do with recruiting?
  11. It was VERY lightly toasted. a meatloaf sandwich is a glorious middle ground between a hamburger and a meatball sandwich. It’s actually the primary reason I make meatloaf.
  12. Or, maybe, Texas wasn’t willing to overpay for one player and the impact the overpayment would have on the locker room, regardless of whether that player was at a position of need. Being principled in roster building and NIL is more important in the long term. Also, while we are in a great position to make a run this year, we are building a foundation for a long-term run. Not just one year. This shit is for the next ten years. Focusness, bitches.
  13. Leftover meatloaf sandwich
  14. I mean, that's actually fast for them. That was pretty much the average wait both in line and for food at the trailer. Never understood why it took so long to get the food once you ordered. Why couldn't they do it like every other bbq joint where they cut the meat as you order it? Never made sense to me.
  15. Listen to these chucklefucks. These halfwits are exactly what I think of when I picture an OU fan.
  16. This motherfucker wasn't even involved in the kid's life for four years. How was he able to get custody after ghosting mom for four years?
  17. I had a whole response typed out, but all I really want to say is that you can kindly get fucked for throwing shade at Sark's personal challenges, which he's seemingly addressed, while simultaneously defending this horse's ass.
  18. I think the words "toxic masculinity" are thrown around way too often, but this is the perfect example.
  19. Big fucking red blob hovering over the Lake Travis watershed. Lake will go up 1.5 inches. Maybe.
  20. What's the prognosis on adding a difference-maker at DT at this point? Buzz going into the second transfer window was that Texas was in a really good spot to add a big-time player. Any insight?
  21. Community at its peak was the best, but Community didn't sustain it over the lifetime of the series. So overall I'd go Parks & Rec, Community, 30 Rock. Gap to Modern Family. Gap to HIMYM, and then I never watched Big Bang Theory.
  22. How many of you had mugs at Showdown? I did from like 99 till I moved in 2002 and they held on to it for me for a few years after but then it got bequeathed to a new regular around 2005. Getting honored with a mug was a highlight of my 20s. In reference to Sandy's - it's the same food at Short Stop with an expanded menu and more dessert/custard options. We try to hit it up when we're in the neighborhood and the weather is nice.
