  1. This was a wedding with A LOT of service industry people and Irish Catholics.
  2. I mean, I'd love for them to invent some reason to fire him for cause. I'm sure that will comfort the next coach and give him confidence that they won't try to weasel their way out of a contract if the team underperforms.
  3. If they do buy him out, I wonder who's on their shortlist and what is realistic. I'm sure Urban Meyer is who the fans will want. Would he go there? He's a total piece of shit, so he checks that box. But just like when we were looking for a coach, there doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate outside of UM.
  4. I disagree with the notion that we were unprepared, we were the less physical team, or that we didn't have the right mindset. I just think that OU is a LOT better than we thought they were. Impressed (and fucking frustrated) with how they've turned things around in one year. We lost a close one because of turnovers and a few mistakes. But we didn't get outplayed, didn't get pushed around, didn't make too many of stupid mistakes (the running into the punter and the picks come to mind). This loss doesn't feel as bad as many of the other losses to them. But it's tough to beat a team twice in one season, and I think we'll get another crack at them in a game that will matter more. Edit: Regarding mindset, the biggest issue is that they expect to win, and we hope we will win.
  5. And Rivals had Bryce Foster as the #15 overall player in the class. He's good at shot put, so he must be really good at football too. Another joke...
  6. He’s in Europe. Can’t get pussy in unstriped pants dude.
  7. Oh fuck. This guy can see the future and everyone else is idiot! Bro, you are so badass!
  8. Outside of diagnosing individual plays (1st series pick) or series (1st and goal from the 1) the reason we lost the game was because our pass rush sucked donkey dick and our LBs were terrible. Our inability to get home and get sacks on their stupid QB was maddening. It exemplifies why Colin Simmons is so essential to the 2024 class. And Jaylan Ford was fucking terrible yesterday. He’s usually amazing but he looked lost. He didn’t help the team yesterday.
  9. Exactly. Which is why the question "what buns do you use for cheesesteak" was asked. I think the talera rolls at Central market work pretty well. They're sturdy and Central Market bakes them in more of a hoagie shape rather than a circular bun shape.
  10. We had Rudy's at our wedding and it was great. Super easy and the out of towners loved it. But yeah, we had A LOT of leftover bbq. Wedding planners always suggest you order too much food and not enough booze. Our wedding planner said to plan on 2.5 drinks per person. My wife and I literally laughed out loud at that suggestion. Anyway, not a new opinion but Rudy's has it's place and catered weddings certainly falls right in their sweet spot.
  11. There are still scholarship limits. but you can manage your 85 however you want now. Take 50 players one year and 12 the next. Who gives a shit.
  12. I honestly don't understand why final class rankings don't weigh the overall balance of a class, and also minimize the weight of stacking certain position groups with 5-star players. Three 5-star receivers isn't as good as one 5-star WR, a 5-star OL, and a 5-star DL. And that kind of fuckery is why we had a reputation of doing so little with so much. All of the "so much" was loaded into DBs and WRs and no OL, DEs, or LBs.
  13. Oh see, I'm an idiot. I misread that. Stupid sip.
  14. The win in Bama was the very definition of a statement victory.
  15. You don't need to heat the sugar. Just put the sugar in water and agitate it until it's fully dissolved. It takes maybe 3 or 4 minutes for a half-cup of sugar and half-cup of water. Then I throw it in the fridge until I have to make more. Personally, I can't tell the difference between simple that has been warmed and simple that hasn't.
  16. An Old Fashioned is really more of a ratio/style of cocktail rather than a recipe for a specific spirit. You can make a rye old fashioned, a bourbon OF, a rum OF, brandy OF, etc. It's the 2 oz spirit to 1/2 oz simple + bitters ratio. Tweak to your preference. I prefer closer to 1/3 oz simple rather than a full 1/2 oz. But rye is probably the most common, classic spirit used, and what a bartender SHOULD use if you walk up to a bar and order an old fashioned. It's kind of like how a "sour" is a ratio rather than a recipe for a specific spirit - 2oz spirit, 3/4 to 1oz citrus, 1/2 to 3/4oz simple. Most sour recipes now include shaken egg white. But at its core, a margarita is a tequila sour, for instance.
  17. Thank you for reminding me to block out my calendar for that half hour so that I'm not in the middle of some big presentation and everyone's phones start screaming.
