    Tipping

If we want to change the law requiring bars and restaurants to start paying bartenders $15 or $20 an hour, it would be totally reasonable to tip only on mixed drinks and cocktails. But right now bartenders make $2.13 an hour - almost all of which goes to taxes. So yeah, tip your bartender the buck on the beer ya cheap bastard. Or drink your beers at home.
  2. Why does butt stuff have to be weird? #NormalizeButtStuff
  3. @closetojumping without divulging shit we don't need to know about, what is the general assessment of how things went this weekend? On Saturday morning we wake up to tweets from the $9.95ers saying this could be the biggest day in the history of recruiting for Texas, and from that point on the only major news was a Nate Kibble commitment. Which is great. But the general tenor of the $9.95ers beginning Friday morning was that this was going to be an incredible weekend and I think pretty much everyone that follows this shit was expecting more fireworks. Does this weekend set the stage for more exciting shit?
  4. Looks like the jalapeño cheddar biscuit is coming back. Comment said next week. Screen shot from a dumb insta reel.
  5. Why don't you two just fuck each other and get it over with?
  6. Fuck. I thought that was some sort of euphemism. Coach Price really is dead. He's burning ribs with the angels now.
  7. I mean, is there a football player in college or the NFL that isn't taking steroids? I assume that everyone is at this point. Am I wrong?
  8. Well motherfucker. Their IG account had been saying that they Menchaca location was going to stay open. Maybe I misinterpreted. Well, guess I won't be going to Valentina's that often. But the AC will be nice when we do go there. Edit: just checked IG and they said opening weekend was busier than anticipated so they decided to close down the trailer. This sucks.
  9. Yeah. That's 18 miles roundtrip on I-35 currently under construction that I don't have to travel. Plus I don't have to be in Buda. These are good things. I don't give a shit how far people drive for BBQ in Houston.
  10. Apparently the spot on Manchaca will remain open for the foreseeable future. That's good news to me because I'm not really into driving down to Buda.
  11. My avatar would like a word with you. And a whiskey. A whiskey and a word.
  12. I once saw a guy take a shit right outside of a mansion that had a gold-flaked roof in Delhi. That pretty much perfectly encapsulated my one experience in India. Didn't go to Coimbatore.
  13. I mean, that's pretty much India
  14. I actually really like the studio version of that 'mats cover. Fuck, I love the 'mats.
  15. My wife's into it so I've been watching, but I think this show is pretty boring. I'll stick through to the end of this season, but something interesting needs to happen or I'm out.
  16. Centenario is a damn fine tequila at a damn fine price point.
  17. I’m pretty sure I’d much rather hang out with Guy Fieri than any of the pretentious squares on this thread bashing Guy Fieri. We’d be pounding Jager bombs and slayin late-40s lake poon while crushing chili dogs all day long. Giddyup motherfuckers. We’re partyin’!
  18. This is a very solid itinerary. On Monday, if you have time, consider taking a water taxi to chinatown for some dim sum. I once saw an old Chinese man chop the head off a soft shelled turtle to make soup. They've also got a bunch of souvenir shops with weird cheap shit your kids might like. For dinner after Cubs game, consider Spacca Napoli. It's less than two miles from Wrigley field. It's my favorite Neapolitan/wood fired pizza. We get into Chicago with the family July 4th. We're driving up from Austin and staying for three weeks to visit friends and family. Have fun man!
  19. That's because you're part of the after-church crowd and they don't want to tell you that you and your ilk are the worst. It's not a Texas thing. But it's probably worse in Texas.
  20. Most of them are shitty starting NFL QBs. Yes. None of those guys on your list are going to win you a championship, except potentially Hurts. Maybe Bryce Young too, but we've never seen him play a down of NFL football. Yes there is a trend of NFL execs willing to take a chance on QBs who are under 6'2". But the recent data isn't supporting that to be a good decision. Shorter QBs can be amazing in college. We haven't had a lot of shorter QBs be successful in the NFL. Brees, Russell Wilson and Steve Young are the only three guys 6' and under who have won a Super Bowl since at least 1980. While this may be a trend, it's not one that has shown a strong correlation to NFL success. The Browns and the Cardinals are absolutely fucked because they wasted #1 overall picks on Mayfield and Murray. Maybe they suck because they went to OU? But their height ain't helping them. That being said I'm bullish on KJ Lacey and think he could be a damn fine college QB for us even if he doesn't grow any taller (although I think he will).
  21. But most of those guys suck. The only quality QBs in your list are Jalen Hurts, who may be shorter than average but is built like a linebacker, Russel Wilson who used to be great but sucks now, and Lamar Jackson who used to be great but may or may not suck now. I also don't think 6'2" is too short to be effective. Also, Bryce Young is 5'10"
  22. Went last night with the wife, 9yo girl and 7yo boy. It was fucking awesome. But I had no idea this was a part 1/part 2 thing. At the two hour mark I was REALLY confused wondering how they were going to wrap everything up. But the animation is fucking AMAZING. I had very high expectations after the first one, and it met or exceeded them. Go see this movie in a theater. You will not regret it.
