  1. In class? Yes. At the grocery store on discontinued products from an obscure brand? No. Because that's something only a psychopath does.
  2. Well, we booked a beach resort with two other families at Playa Paraiso right near Tulum for July 2 - 7. Bummed to find out about the seaweed situation. Also looks like it might rain most of the time we're there. So looking for other shit to do while we're there. My wife wanted to "just book it" and use a travel agent and of course the agency is suggesting cenote trips that cost $100 a person. I'm not dropping $400 to go swimming. Fuck that. Does anyone have a recommendation on cenotes? Any ones that are better than others close to Tulum? Ones that won't be completely jammed up with people, or that are somewhat easy to get to by taxi?
  3. I fucking loved the first two episodes. FX puts out so many great shows, even if Atlanta kinda stumbled this year. I don't think Alia Shawkat is his daughter. Their voices are different. I think they're obviously pushing the narrative that he might be crazy and having imaginary conversations with his dead daughter. FBI said his daughter killed herself back in 2003, which would have been way before he went crazy. He would have had nearly 20 years to reconcile that. I'm guessing the suicide was Dan Chase and family covering their tracks for this eventuality. No point in finding and leveraging someone that's already dead. Interested to see where they go with this. One other interesting note - there isn't an actress credited to an "Emily Chase" on imdb or anywhere else on the internet, although that could be intentional to further the narrative
  4. It's one mile from the JW Marriott. It's .4 miles to Iron Works from the Marriott. As I said in my original response, whether or not you feel that's walkable is up to your own tolerance for walking when it's 100+. I'm just making suggestions about not-shitty bbq in the area. Walk to Terry Blacks or or walk to Iron Works or take a Lyft. I don't give a fuck. What he should be doing is taking a lyft up to the Chili's at 38th and Lamar. Everyone knows that's the best restaurant in Austin.
  5. No doubt it's better. But Terry Black's is serviceable and walkable. And when I'm on work trips I typically want something close and easy that doesn't suck.
  6. Austin is Whitey McWhiteyville. He's just fucking with you because you're an aggie and a lot of y'all don't like the browns. There's no good bbq in downtown Austin. Closest you'll get is Terry Black's, which is much closer than L&L. Walkable or not depending on your tolerance for a one mile walk when it's a hundred-and-fuck-you outside.
  7. Hell is a grocery store reorganizing where everything is. Happened at my store on William Cannon and Brodie a few years back and it took me probably 4 months to learn where all of my shit was now located.
  8. KK has apparently said “I have no memory of talking so tough to anyone at Willie’s birthday party…." But then he also said: Kristofferson then told the Star Tribune that he doesn’t even remember the exchange with Keith, but his wife does. “That’s something that happened six years ago,” he said. “I can’t even remember what I had for breakfast.” Also, if it didn't happen, why didn't Toby Keith sue Rolling Stone? You know why? Because it totally fucking happened. Anyway, the dude sucks but I don't wish cancer on (almost) anyone. Hope he pulls through.
  9. Well, I finally ran into lump in public. We have some friends who are members at Balcones Country Club and we met them up there to swim and drink beers for fathers' day yesterday. She was there at the bar. Apparently Lump and Matt Mckowiak are regulars at the country club bar.
  10. That pic will always make me laugh, and will always confuse the shit out of me. Are there lime rinds in there?
  11. Probably interviewed at multiple companies. Received an offer and accepted. Subsequently received a better offer and never bothered to tell other employer. Shitty move and a potential bridge-burner. But on the other hand, fuck the man....
  12. You've got this. Kick it's ass, brother.
  13. "to get our people back to work" also assumes that they weren't working from home. Meanwhile - https://www.worldcoffeeportal.com/Latest/News/2021/November/Starbucks-exceeds-pre-pandemic-earnings-after-reco What a dickhead. Fuck that guy.
  14. Both of these people are idiots. But homie in the blue shirt and flip-flops gonna catch an assault charge. Hope it was worth it buddy!
  15. Here are some funny stats/quotes I came across while reading about Bill Russell today: RPG per year: 56: 19.6 57: 22.7 58: 23.0 59: 24.0 60: 23.9 61: 23.6 62: 23.6 63: 24.7 64: 24.1 65: 22.8 66: 21.0 67: 18.6 68: 19.3 So dude averaged 24 rpg in 59 and did not lead the league. That's how bad shooting was back then. I also liked this quote from wikipedia about how Russell became the player/coach after Red Aurbach retired:
  16. MJ Lebron/Kareem Bird/Magic/Russell/Wilt Stef/Duncan/Hakeem/Shaq I can't do 10 because I think there are tiers. I wouldn't have included Stef in this before last night but you've got to now. It's really tough trying to figure out where to rank Russell and Wilt because I never saw them play, and it was such a different game back then. Particularly with Russell because he had like 5 hall of famers on his team. It is funny to see all the millennials and gen z twats that never saw MJ play in the 90s arguing that Stef or Lebron are better.
  17. To be fair, what else is there to care about when you’re playing on one of the worst teams in the league?
  18. Cautiously optimistic. Rockets fans are thrilled to dump him, even though they got very little in return. He's been on 7 teams in 7 years. But I wonder how much of his attitude issues are playing on a team that sucks shit through a straw every night. I just hope the Mavs wait to see if he gels with the team before extending him.
  19. But how are you going to know how to raise your kids if you're ignoring America's Number One Dad?
  20. Why? It's an endorsement deal. It's supposed to be separate from their status as a collegiate football player. Why couldn't it be a multi-year deal that runs into their professional career?
  21. I saw that Bijan's Lambo deal is a one-year thing. Wonder if it would be in Lambo's interest to sign him to a multi-year endorsement so that when he goes on to the pros, if he becomes a star, he'll have potentially broader NFL exposure.
  22. Your complaints about Whataburger are not invalid. But your assumptions regarding Chicago food are. They will shoot you in the face if you put ketchup on a hot dog. Fried fish sandwiches aren't a thing in Chicago. That's Baltimore. And nowhere serves pepsi. But otherwise, rage on. Last time I went they made me a grilled cheese. But that was probably a month ago.
