  1. Thought this thread was gonna be about George Jones...
  2. I'm seriously not trying to be a dick, but if you don't follow recruiting regularly, it's pretty difficult to contextualize the landscape when there are a ton of moving parts.
  3. Sucks to lose him to the yokels up north, but I'm not worried about OL recruiting, depth, or performance. Give me a DT, a CB, and S please?
  4. What did you pay for those tickets and how empty was the stadium? Couldn't believe they were playing the new basketball arena AND trying to sell most tickets for $250 a pop, with general admission floor tickets selling for $450 retail. I thought they'd have trouble selling out Moody Theater at $100 a pop, much less a whole ass basketball arena for 3x that price.
  5. I do not believe he wrote it. But I do believe he put his name on it.
  6. Will second this. It might be the very best pizza I've ever had in my life. I certainly can't think of anything better...
  7. I mean, this is it right here. None of the character development of early GoT, absolutely no humor whatsoever, can't really follow the characters because their names all sound the same. But most of all, no fucking dragon battles. This season was a slog. I will definitely be waiting for all episodes of season 3 to be released so I can binge them instead of tuning in every week hoping something happens, but only to watch the same boring characters have the same conversations in the same dimly-lit set. Twas a goddamn beating.
  8. In a perfect alternative universe, John Fogerty and Tom Petty would have collaborated on an album and it would be nothing but perfect licks, hooks, riffs, and melodies.
  9. Necro-bumping this thread. Didn't know that CCR's greatest hits album constantly hovers within the billboard top-20 best selling albums. CCR is the best https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/creedence-clearwater-revival-ccr-chronicle-americas-biggest-band-1235073385/?fbclid=IwY2xjawEfHalleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHVaij56QyYx396EEMFw6vjiNwV1TJiyZBIHr32H-UFdtag2WhF3LTgFLvA_aem_zBWc1XegHgkdnJIe035nVw
  10. It's not "the strongest" of all time, but I remember being instantly captivated by Last of Us.
  11. HEB at Brodie in Austin has had a few small boxes of hot hatch peppers for the last two weeks. Made a green chili pork last week and the hot peppers they had were legitimately hot. Sure they're overrated. Sure they're just Anaheim peppers. I don't give a shit. I enjoy the excuse to make a bunch of green chili dishes.

Clearly y'all killed Steve Albini. Way to go jerks.
  13. The move is to walk over to Posse, Crown, or Hole in the Wall, have a few post-game drinks, and wait for shit to die down before you try to get a rideshare.
  14. Why would anyone risk being engulfed in the flames created by ctj's superhuman speed? The only man POTENTIALLY capable of competing with and/or surviving such a race is Teddy Lehman.
  15. Lake Travis is very fucking far from the things you'll be wanting to do while you're here. If you want to hang out at the lake all day, it will be good for you. But if you're planning on doing F1, going to the Georgia game, hitting up stuff in the city, you definitely do not want to be in Lake Travis.
  16. Walkable? Downtown, near east side close to 6th street, south congress area and adjacent streets between oltorf and riverside. Walkability requirements significantly limit your search criteria. If you have a car or don't mind a short uber, that opens things up to anywhere north of 71 up to around Hyde Park area between MoPac and 183 east, but there are still some "not nice" spots on the east side west of 183. Also, if you can afford an airbnb that weekend, I think you owe it to sponsor a happy hour before the Georgia game for the entire board.

Is that the same trailer that used to be on the patio at C Boys? If so, I had a shrimp and oyster po boy from there a long time ago and remember it being very good.
  18. I've never liked that place. I've been a few times because my wife used to love their veggie burger, and if we're hungry after record shopping at Waterloo it's pretty convenient. But I always pushed to go to Counter Cafe back when it was open a few doors down.
  19. I've got a Libra 3. I also take insulin, metformin, and jardiance. I've been able to keep my glucose in range for 99% of the time over the last few months. I mostly eat wheat bread when eating bread carbs, and do occasionally eat white bread and am still able to stay in range. If anything, I'm struggling with dropping into low glucose territory during the night. I've got my second visit with an endocrinologist next month and I assume we'll have a better understanding of what my treatment plan and diet is going to be. But right now I'm just trying to avoid unnecessary carbs and eat right. Sorry for the diabetes hijack.
  20. What the fuck happens to all the water in the upper part of the greenbelt? There are millions of gallons of water in Lost Creek but just a few miles downstream Sculpture Falls is dry as a bone (or at least it was a few days ago before the rains). Also, where does the water come from? It has not rained significantly prior to this week, but the water was flowing pretty good at Lost Creek. Is it spring-fed and eventually the water table gets so low that no more water flows?
