  1. In free agency there are contracts. With the portal there are no contracts. It’s chaos. The plus side is that we are probably the most insulated program against this stuff in college football if we can figure this shit out. But there’s the rub… Also, other teams need to want our players. So it hasn’t really been a problem for us.
  2. There is typically exceptionally-high quality South Austin MILF scenery at El Alma. Which makes sense because if there was ever a restaurant created for women, it's El Alma. Total chick restaurant. I'll endorse Matt's (with food) and Guerro's (without food), and add Perla's and Fresa's (just don't order a $30 roasted when you can get a better one down the street at El Pollo Rico for $10)
  3. Did you get drunk at dinner? If so, that would explain why she was driving and why you totally overreacted. Just go with "I got drunk at dinner" and leave it at that.
  4. I use Marcella Hazan's basic red sauce recipe because she knew more about this shit than I do and it's easy as fuck. Good canned tomatoes, onion, butter, salt. That's it. https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015178-marcella-hazans-tomato-sauce But, as is the case with any sauce, church it up however you want. Want to leave the onions in? Cool! Pull em out and pop em in a blender and throw them back in the sauce. I've done that before. I've made it with garlic. I've thrown fresh basil in there or even dried italian seasoning. I've put a cup of wine in and let it reduce. Whatever. But really, it doesn't need to get more complicated than this.
  5. One kid saying she saw her mom pinch her sister and intentionally exclude the sister is not enough to overcome all the other questionable bullshit associated with this case to create a firm foundation for "beyond a reasonable doubt". There's still a fuckton of reasonable doubt here. But since you're a "white men have it hard these days and brown people have it easy" guy I know I'm not going to convince you otherwise. Anyway, glad her execution was stayed.
  6. Because he might be a flake? And also, looks like Guilbeau is gone this year. Not next.
  7. Apparently Fitlump rents a shitty apartment and the rent is going up $500 a month and she's upset. She's gotta be the only council member that doesn't own her own home
  8. Been raining pretty steadily since 8am here at Bill Cannon and West Gate.
  9. Yep. You should call the NCAA about this egregious violation of rules. Free ice cream?!?! This will not stand!
  10. I'm supposed to wait four fucking weeks for a goddamn mexican pizza? Who do they think I am? The fucking pope?
  11. I make a potato/leek/gruyere quiche that fucking slams if I'm inspired enough to make the pie crust. But normally i just buy the Pillsbury pre-made one, and then it's just really fucking good.
  12. Aggy gonna boycott The Athletic. From mandel's latest Q&A: Stewart- with Georgia finally getting the proverbial monkey off their back this past season, what program replaces them as the school who’s the most “overdue” to win a national championship based on expectations from their fan base, national media, etc.? Nebraska quickly comes to mind, but at 25 years I’m not sure they’ve waited long enough to make that claim. Stuart F. I know some people will say Texas A&M, but Texas A&M to me is not akin to Georgia. The Aggies’ one and only national title was so long ago the games weren’t yet televised, and it’s not like they’ve been knocking on the door for several years like Kirby Smart was. And whereas Georgia fans had been expecting national titles ever since the last one, I feel like that didn’t really become a thing for A&M fans until at least Johnny Manziel, if not Jimbo. The answer is Notre Dame. It’s been 34 years. While many (perhaps including Brian Kelly himself) believe the Irish will never realistically win another one, their fans certainly still expect it. As an independent, it’s the only trophy the Irish have to play for. And this is not a Nebraska/Miami/Tennessee situation where the program has fallen completely off the map. Notre Dame reached the Playoff two of the past four seasons. The Irish have finished the season No. 12 or higher in six of the past seven seasons. That means they’re in the mix. I could list any number of other national championship programs — USC, Florida and Texas come to mind — that have the resources and the recruiting footprint to do it again, but the longest drought for any of them is USC at 18 years. Notre Dame’s is nearly twice that long. Notre Dame’s is an actual monkey.
  13. 1) I don't think you can "develop" a killer instinct. You've either got it or you don't. 2) I hope the Neyor stuff ends up being bullshit. I would rather have Neyor than Hall and his baggage, regardless of potential.
  14. MF cut that brisket with one of these
  15. Does anyone know what the fuck they're hinting at here? I hate when they do this "wink-wink" shit. The "program fit" thing makes sense, but who is going to be a better option than a 5-star sophomore? Shit, On3 had him as the number 11 overall recruit in the class.
  16. The novelty will not wear off. They WILL be shit-shows forever.
  17. Yes. fuck today's wordle indeed. Wordle 300 4/6 ⬜🟩🟨🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  18. This is a weird analogy, but Donald Glover's approach to this show reminds me a little of Sturgill Simpson's approach to making records. It feels like they're both intentionally fighting against what their audiences hope and expect that they will do. Maybe to make them think? Maybe just to surprise them and keep them on their toes? Maybe to intentionally fuck with them? Who knows. Sturgill made Metamodern Sounds of Country music, which was a psychedelic neo-outlaw country music record that many people likened to peak Waylon Jennings. He followed it up with A Sailor's Guide to Earth, which was a deeply personal, hyper-produced pop record with full-on horns and shit. And then he made Sound the the Fury, which was a weird-ass synth rock record (which I fucking love, btw). And then he did a traditional bluegrass record. Dude could make a full-on punk record, or a 1950's R&B record next and neither would surprise me. Donald Glover seems to be of a similar mindset. Keep them on their toes and always keep them guessing. I appreciate an auteur that takes us for a ride. I'd like to see more from the main characters, but these little vignettes he's doing this year have been thought-provoking, even when a little on the nose and over the top. Let's keep rolling DG!
  19. Just means you've done too many bumps. Take a xanny and drink a water.
  20. Great article. But it's curious to me that they didn't cover the murder trial and sentencing. The timeline ends with Stodne's brother telling the parole officer "he's lying" as the PO leaves the house seeming to believe Stodne's story of the "fight" with the cab driver. They go right into the aftermath and the takeaways and never resolve what happened at the murder trial.
  21. Searched for this and didn't see any mention of "Melissa Lucio" anywhere on this site. First hispanic woman set to be executed in the State of Texas. She's accused of killing her 2 year old daughter. From the Vice article below: https://www.vice.com/en/article/93b7w3/texas-melissa-lucio-on-death-row-prosecutor?utm_source=vicenewstwitter https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/texas-prosecutor-pushes-back-pleas-stop-execution-melissa-lucio-rcna24217 Can't definitely say that she didn't do it, but it sure seems like she got railroaded. Coerced confession at 3am after hours of interrogation immediately after the death of her daughter. Insinuation that she beat her kids but all her kids say it's not true. Evidence that the child's injuries were sustained by falling down the stairs, but said evidence was never submitted. Five jurors now publicly question the conviction. Now the DA that requested the death penalty is saying he will try to stop the execution. Seems like there's enough to at least stay her execution. But Texas maybe gonna Texas?
  22. Counterpoint - grown men didn't used to physically assault and ultimately kill kids for innocent poo-flinging pranks. Get it fucking together people. My wife taught this kid when he was in elementary school. She said he was a good kid. Fuck that dude.
  23. In my experience, the mi tienda street taco meat is very lean and doesn't yield a lot of rendered fat. I've had to add oil to the pan to achieve the desired maillard reaction.
  24. I'm pissed they got rid of the JCB, but it's only been around since 2014. It's not like when they dumped the A1T&H burger. Bastards.
