  1. fucking premonition this morning, thinking how we haven't had a high body count shooter lately.
  2. Quality of R positions, ranked. 1) No harm, no foul. Marginal harm in delay does not justify extraordinary relief of impeachment. 2) This was Rudy and the others out doing this, Trump is a periphery character. 3) Was not extortion. 4) Justifiable investigation into corruption. 5) Getting hit by a bus. 6) Whatever Jordan and Ratliff were trying to do yesterday.
  3. zavala posting the sinclair zombie clip? this is . . . surprising.
  4. or or OR ORRRR you could look at the actual evidence -- the hours and hours of testimony we already have -- and realize that Schiff's interpretation of it isn't all that important.
  5. yeah, that was definitely an issue. she turned in on when Ratliff was doing Qs, and then saw highlights on trevor noah's show. neither of those did any favors.
  6. Lack of clarity very much helps R here. I said yesterday you need someone with non-partisan bona fides to say "What happened was wrong. Trump tried to rig the upcoming election. And he did it by putting Ukrainian lives in danger." Something like that. Crystal clear. Not "irregular." Not "worrying." Not caveated with a bunch of "well, that's what I believe happened." Taylor was in a great position to do that but he wanted to try to avoid being seen on one side.
  7. I think it was a reflection of the fact that she isn’t steeped in the issues. For someone like that, there was a decided lack of clarity.
  8. My very liberal wife watched some of the hearing highlights before bed last night. She thought things went very bad for the Democrats.
  9. Any state with a senator up gets aN auto R+2 bump. Turnout for SCOTUS related events is huge on the right.
  10. you need a statement of moral clarity from a witness that has maintained non-partisan bona fides, imo. "we'd like the guy who started it too" is good for amusement. I'd rather have Taylor one time say "What Trump was trying to do was wrong."
  11. better in the sense that it's more delicious?
  12. In sum: too wonky. Needles will stay unmoved.
  13. We need a better quip than "inviting foreign interference". It allows for easy disingenuous comparisons. We need to workshop something along the lines of "President cannot secretly hijack U.S. funds and U.S. policy with foreign countries to give himself political advantage."
  14. "Do you have any evidence of an impeachable offense? . . . uh, I withdraw the question."
  15. The Lindsay Graham/Kavanaugh method. Yell, make someone think something big is happening.
  16. It's not as outlandish as it could be. [laughs] "Yes, it could be MORE criminal, counselor."
  17. that's why you'd never make it as a lawyer. you think you are supposed to prepare?
  18. Taylor is doing his best to not say "please ask something coherent."
  19. No, he’s definitely not finished, because a majority of the world — people like you — are the OJ jury.
