  1. I've mulled over this tweet ever since it was posted. When did Cornyn become such a piece of shit?
  2. also, lulz at that list of last names -- very San Antonio-y.
  3. pretty aggessive tweet, joaquin
  4. Pretty inauspicious start, Bonnen. I'd already decided he was one of the good guys. May still be one, but also seems to be a fuckup.
  5. Relevant parts of the email: /applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />
  6. should be a 1 on the left column. sic semper tyrannis, you know.
  7. the range is basically noise if you just look at the last year. everyone's opinion became baked in with him 18 months into his presidency. i don't expect it to change from here on out.
  8. facemask, since you seem to be new to the U.S., I've included some helpful links that explain Brisket's post. That way, next time someone says something like the below, you'll have enough information to respond intelligently. Learning is Fun!
  9. it seems sort of light. i'm just not upset about it either way. but it is a 20 year sentence of a dude almost at retirement age. those aren't nothing. but again, there are differences. 'this guy was a moron' was actually part of their defense, 'he didn't have the ability to hurt anyone.' that morphed into 'he actually knew how to build real bombs, but the fact that he didn't shows an intentional decision to not.' presumably, the ISIS guy wouldn't have those factors. sentencing is hard.
  10. no, but i do think those things are different. a citizen is subject to criminal laws. a military combatant is subject to laws of juris in bello. you could unleash the 7th fleet on one and not the other.
  11. Mitigation by Nuremberg defense actually worked here. “I was just following orders [from the President]”
  12. Moron gets 20 years.
  13. there will be nothing like 1.5x turnout for the tards over the humans. 2018 out front should have told ya.
  14. i think these people are trying to influence trump as much as report. they are saying "please keep doing normal president stuff like this instead of the garbage you normally do" by praising him when he does it. he's irredeemable of course, but they are trying.
  15. fwiw, i appreciated it. i like to know the background on things like that.
  16. no one is going to vote for him that already isn't going to vote for him. will you vote for him if he enacts some weapons ban? and no one that supports him currently will keep supporting him if he takes away the one thing they love.
  17. they are written to be pored over. they are written to be amplified. they are performative. they are not written with any skill in blending the left and right messages and can be understood by anyone honestly approaching them.
  18. i have a buddy that did ASE at UT for the sole reason that he saw top gun and loved it, and thought ASE was a decent path to being a naval aviator. turns out, not only was he right and he's flying naval planes right now, but they used his hangar for some of the shots. he sent me a picture of maverick's plane he snapped.
  19. the next election would be 130,000,000 to 0 if he did that.
  20. This is a cogent, well articulated, and thoughtful point that is not supported by any fact. Denied.
  21. What is up with that Toledo thing? Those seem clearly to not be his words and come from a Teleprompter. Did the entire team who typed the speech not know what city we were talking about?
  22. Smart terrorists are always looking for ways to stretch their terrorism dollar.
  23. It’s so obviously focus tested. Who doesn’t vote? Young people. What do the olds hate? Scary technology. I’ve got an idea on what to pin this on.
