  1. Noel Reports: “Russia has rejected Trump’s proposed plan to freeze the war along current front lines. “Russia’s negotiation stance, to halt troops at existing positions, remains unchanged,” Kremlin spokesman Peskov stated.“ “Ukraine’s General Staff has confirmed strikes on Russia’s Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery and Orenburg gas processing plant overnight on October 19. The Novokuybyshevsk refinery, processing 4.9M tons of crude annually, suffered hits to its primary refining units. At Orenburg, one of Russia’s largest gas plants, fires broke out following damage to gas treatment systems.”
  2. National Cattleman’s Beef Association is not thrilled. https://www.ncba.org/news-media/news/details/44430/argentinian-beef-import-plan-harms-us-cattle-producers Today, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) responded to comments from President Donald J. Trump that suggested importing Argentinian beef as a solution to lower beef prices. NCBA’s family farmers and ranchers are concerned that rewarding Argentina with this expanded access to the U.S. market harms American cattlemen and women, while also interfering with the free market. “NCBA’s family farmers and ranchers have numerous concerns with importing more Argentinian beef to lower prices for consumers. This plan only creates chaos at a critical time of the year for American cattle producers, while doing nothing to lower grocery store prices,” said NCBA CEO Colin Woodall. “Additionally, Argentina has a deeply unbalanced trade relationship with the U.S. In the past five years Argentina has sold more than $801 million of beef into the U.S. market. By comparison, the U.S. has sold just over $7 million worth of American beef to Argentina. Argentina also has a history of foot-and-mouth disease, which if brought to the United States, could decimate our domestic livestock production.” Although beef prices have increased, consumer demand for beef remains strong because of the work American cattle producers have done to improve the quality and safety of U.S. beef. We call on President Trump and members of Congress to let the market work, rather than intervening in ways that do nothing but harm rural America.
  3. Yeah, everything else was going to finish him off regardless, and the focus on his expecting to die young was the real story.
  4. Curious if you have any thoughts where or when the Russian economy/society really starts to break down if Ukraine maintains or increases their strikes? If they start to completely finish off say the large tank at fuel depots, take out the processing towers at refineries, etc., it seems like the old saying about bankruptcy - slowly at first, then suddenly. The Russian people in the largest cities need three things Heat/Electricity Food Fuel to get to work, etc. (there is mass transit) All three of those rely on oil and gas.
  5. The strategy is to make Russia and Putin look weak, because Trump despises losing - it’s why in 2025 he still talks about crowd sizes from 2016, still talks about Biden, because he loathes that Biden beat him. Trump only recently pivoted away from Putin because Putin clowned him after Alaska and because Ukraine is hammering the Russian economy. Trump talks to Putin, is easily swayed, goes back to pushing Russian talking points because in his mind, ultimately he thinks Russia should be able to win - Trump has never been an underdog in his life. He does not understand the saying about it’s not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog. He just can’t comprehend Russia not being able to steamroll Ukraine. Trump desperately wants to be seen as a winner and only associate with winners, so he’s angry at Zelenskyy because the whole thing confuses him. Ukraine has a strategy that Trump actually understands - Trump understands people waiting in line for gas, Russia not being able to sell gas, and Russia can’t stop it.
  6. https://apnews.com/article/beef-argentina-us-consumers-prices-f7fadbe1b3fef4646f9c3623f901209a Tens of billions of dollars to bail out Argentinian farmers Buying beef from Argentina’s farmers Because of the tariff war, China is buying soybeans from Argentina that they would have bought from American farmers American farmers:
  7. Donald Trump said that during his talks with Volodymyr Zelensky, the idea of handing over Donbas to Russia was “never discussed.” According to him, the talks were only about freezing hostilities along the current front line. Earlier, The Washington Post reported that Vladimir Putin allegedly proposed to Trump ending the war in exchange for parts of the occupied Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. Meanwhile, Financial Times claimed that Trump echoed Putin’s talking points and urged Zelensky to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Donbas, warning that otherwise Russia could “destroy” Ukraine The President of Ukraine revealed that it was U.S. Special Envoy Witkoff who brought up the idea of Ukraine giving up Donbas during their meeting in Washington. Zelensky responded firmly, saying that Russia’s so-called “referendums” were a farce conducted after the occupation. “The Russians claim they held a vote among ‘their people,’ but between the invasion and that so-called ‘referendum,’ ten years passed,” he said. When Witkoff referred to the fact that the results of these “referendums” were written into Russia’s Constitution, Zelensky replied: “If tomorrow Putin adds something else there — are we supposed to give it up again? And if I add two Russian regions to Ukraine’s Constitution, will they withdraw from those territories?”
  8. Real leadership Lithuanian Foreign Minister: “The only European city where Putin should end up is The Hague” Kęstutis Budrys said this before the start of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Luxembourg. Budrys also stressed that he does not consider it possible for Putin’s plane to fly through Lithuanian airspace and advised the dictator to look for alternatives. It is the only road of this class that directly connects Poland with Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania Via Baltica plays a crucial role in the region’s security, defense, and economic development.
  9. One or two might be looking up, but yeah. Meanwhile, Orenburg appears to have another fire Local residents report a new fire at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant. Eyewitnesses are posting videos of smoke, but regional emergency officials insist there’s “no fire.” Sure — the atmosphere just got a little overheated. A day earlier, the facility was already attacked by drones: according to Governor Yevgeny Solntsev, part of the infrastructure was damaged and one of the workshops caught fire.
  10. North of Austin, about 45 minutes out.
  11. This is the stuff of Tom Clancy novels - something spooked Xi pretty bad. Obviously, they were probably all corrupt like any highly-ranked Chinese official, but this size of a purge possibly means he heard one or more were plotting against him, or that somebody was plotting against him and he wasn't sure who. You also do that kind of stuff to break whatever hold they have on the forces/organizations that they control, because you can't trust them to follow your orders. It's extremely interesting. The fact that one was so highly-ranked and a Politburo member is something to watch.
  12. So how are tariffs doing? The US is rolling back tariffs on “products that cannot be grown, mined, or naturally produced in the United States" - WSJ What about American farmers?
  13. Yeah, I don't know what Venezuela promised Trump, but they aren't out of the woods yet - US Navy has moved 3 of their fleet replenishment oilers down there. You only do that if you expect a lot of naval activity.
  14. So are Robotaxis driving at night? Because I see Waymos driving at night.
  15. Or Embry-Riddle for that matter.
  16. This is the kind of shit that will take off with AI/is taking off. NSFW They are fucking with photos of Mariska Hargitay's mom and Sasha Alexander's mother-in-law.
  17. Putin really got Sweden off the fence
  18. We were camping this weekend, went to bed last night and it was in the low 70s, got up around 4am and it was in the mid/low 60s. Went back to sleep for a few hours. It was glorious. It wasn't glorious getting into town and getting a cell phone signal and seeing what transpired with Kentucky last night.
  19. A President of the United States still echoing Putin's talking points. I can just imagine him if he saw Red Dawn back in 1984 - "I don't know why those kids didn't just surrender when Soviet, Cuban and Nicaraguan soldiers landed in Colorado. The war was clearly over." The only good thing is he despises losing and there's no way Russia can sustain the current campaign against their O&G by the Ukrainians, and they damned sure can't cover it up, so he'll look like an idiot when Russians are standing in line for gas and can't heat their homes this winter. The flip side is we are apparently doing to Venezuela what Russia tried to do to Ukraine, and that's exactly the kind of thing Trump understands - hostile takeovers. I would like to think Zelenskyy knew they wouldn't get Tomahawks (it's been obvious for a while) but wanted something lesser so by asking for something he can't get he gets something lesser, and Trump thinks he's snubbing him by giving him something lesser. But it didn't sound like anything productive other than the US continuing to give up leadership of the free world. As somebody pointed out, "We went from all of Ukraine to surrendering, to the four oblasts and Crimea to now just Donetsk lol"
