  1. /nerd Because back in the day when they were first creating the Superman comics and the printing presses weren't always that good, they needed a way to show movement through the air, and a cape was the easiest way to do it. If the cape is down, he's moving up, if it's raised/above him, he's landing, etc. Originally Superman just jumped really far distances (leap tall buildings in a single bound). Otherwise, he looks like he's hovering in air. Also, they took inspiration for Superman from circus strongmen, who wore tights and capes. Eventually they made it part of the lore that the cape could function as a shield for humans, bulletproof and heatproof, etc.
  2. Some USC fan posted this on reddit and I think it's the kind of summary that ESPN should be using, because it instantly sums everything up. USC and Texas A&M were like two 63 old filipino men in Vegas on their 36th hour at the Pai gow table.
  3. Yeah, wonder what the hell happened at the last second that they went with that runway, rather than try to find a large open area. They sure as hell seemed mostly in control of things other than the lack of flaps/gear - it wasn't like those dudes in the plane shot down by the Russians, who were trying to use the engines to steer the plane and regulate altitude - the Koreans seemed like they had it lined up perfectly with the runway.
  4. Depends on how fast you want to get to the scene of the crash.
  5. Yep, and it's almost a year ago and I believe it was before he publicly acknowledged that it was his alt account. He really is an early 90s teen BBS sysop using alt accounts to make his BBS (or in this case his life) look like something it wasn't.
  6. @Brisketexan apparently some of their hunter/killer drones have shotguns on them for taking out other drones and...I think it could easily work, and depending on the shotgun and ammo used, may not be much recoil. It's a pain to get it in sight (you can see the camera moving up and down) but once they get close to the Russian drone, well it's a shotgun and it doesn't have to be dead-accurate.
  7. If Musk Loomers himself as quickly as he appears to be doing, who knows. Loomer probably knows how to read the room a little better than Musk at least. Musk doesn't get that people look down upon him for this.
  8. Yeah that’s part of what is making his meltdown so hilarious. It’s drawing attention to his breaking the law and he’s out there saying “fuck yeah I did because I’m special and should have had an easier process”. I’m really wondering if he is doing all of this (the campaigning for Trump, etc.) for the H-1B stuff. I’ve seen his tweets where he says America doesn’t have enough skilled engineers for him. He believes this stuff and that H-1Bs are vital to the tech industry.
  9. get that fucking fieldgoal
  10. get that fucking fieldgoal and take it into overtime.
  11. At least they'll continue to believe in elko.
  12. I'm not reading everything, but it seems like just a brief glance and the past 2-3 days is him melting down over H-1B stuff. Like this.
  13. Wage war against them Yeah, that's exactly what Miller is talking about.
  14. Yes, this is the person you should be responding to. Yes Leon, talk about Dunning-Kruger
