  1. Holy shit, Justus Terry to Texas!
  2. I think this is one of those weird times where being socially awkward paid off. They weren't tipped off to any potential weird behavior, because he is always a bit strange.
  3. Quick check so I might have missed something, but if you are looking at second halves of non-Georgia games: Mississippi State was down 14-6 for the entire 3Q (15 mins) Vanderbilt was down 24-17 from 3:11 in the 3rd until 2:00 in the 4th (16:11) and then within 3 for the final 0:46. 330 second half minutes played outside Georgia, the opponent has been within one score for about 32 of them. So not only are we leading, 90% of the time the other team isn't even within striking distance. Fucking domination.
  4. I know I keep beating this dead horse, but it's crazy to me that it is getting absolutely no attention. Everyone is focusing on the schedule, but outside of the Georgia game, nobody is appreciating the level of dominance this team has shown. Colorado State - Never trailed Michigan - Never trailed UTSA - Never trailed ULM - Never trailed Mississippi State - Never trailed Oklahoma - Trailed from 0:15 left in the 1st quarter until 11:20 left in the 2nd (scored TD next drive) Vanderbilt - Trailed from 9:40 left in the 1st quarter until 5:37 left in the 1st (scored TD next drive) Florida - Never trailed Arkansas - Never trailed Kentucky - Never trailed aggy - Never trailed Over the 11 games (660 minutes) besides Georgia, we have trailed for SEVEN MINUTES AND 58 SECONDS. Both times where we saw the other team score first, we immediately went and scored a touchdown and never looked back. Do we appreciate how fucking insane this is? In a year full of upsets, taking care of business from the opening kickoff over and over and over again has to mean something.
  5. Funny you bring that episode up. It’s from Survivor: Marquesas, it’s my absolute favorite episode of all time, and I also thought tonight reminded me of that one. It’s the episode that turned me from a casual fan into a super fan when I watched it live, twenty-something years ago. Long video that’s absolutely worth the watch, but the part you’re talking about starts picking up steam around 7 minutes in. Concludes with maybe the most iconic voting confessional (and the most unintentionally funny final words) of the entire series.
  6. That was the best episode of this show in at least a decade. Just a masterpiece.
  7. Texags launched in 1998. The Aggies won their last conference title in 1998. In genuine sincerity, I do not think this is a coincidence. The victim complex groupthink generated by that website amongst that fanbase (even at the highest, most influential levels) has done immeasurable harm to that athletic department, and I love it so much.
  8. Hayes Fawcett needs to be in prison.
  9. He’s been committed to them for like 4 months, I’m assuming this was from that announcement. That being said, setting the current table up with a ton of OU gear and picking anyone else would be essentially unprecedented levels of recruiting shenanigans.
  10. This staff's ability to put out fires (with the aid of a few donors, I'm sure) is as solid as I can remember in my time following recruiting.
  11. Just chiming in to say that this thread title makes me laugh every time I see it. Well done.
  12. And yet we just dominated your ass in the trenches. Makes you think!
  13. As good as our social media team usually is, our signing day stuff is consistently pretty lackluster/seemingly low-effort when compared to other schools.
  14. Yeah, that’s a good way to frame it (if Oregon loses.) I tend to agree.
  15. If we win and Penn State pulls off the miracle on Saturday, do they jump us for #1?
  16. Remember this for a future year when people are trying to convince us that the Longhorns will drop behind other teams with similar records. The goal of the committee is entertainment and money, and they understand the goal. Blue bloods will always get the benefit of the doubt.
  17. Hell, this was 7 years ago. A bit overweight, sure, but nothing like the tub of goo on the sideline these days.
  18. I had a bad feeling that Azeez turning into a rabid animal and having to be literally dragged off the field would have an effect on his punishment. Still, didn’t think three games, that’s a shit ton.
  19. Fairly certain teenagers of all generations would have reacted similarly to the things we are seeing in the NIL era. And as a fan of one of the teams best positioned to navigate the era, I’m not necessarily complaining, but it’s unfortunate to so openly watch all of the non-financial factors obviously take a backseat. (And I realize a lot of this has been the case for as long as we’ve been following this stuff, but we used to at least be able to pretend motives were pure.)
  20. Tough to be concerned with anything regarding the program right now, but to experience the worst recruiting day in months (at least based on the intel being provided here) immediately after beating aggy and clinching a spot in the SEC championship game is an unfavorable commentary on the current state of college football.
  21. If you really want to see a shitshow, take away the CCG in the era of superconferences and unbalanced schedules.
  22. Is it this guy? https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/football/roster/greg-smith/3490
  23. Yeah, I'm fine with the current structure. The byes for conference champions angle might be the only thing keeping any eyes outside the SEC/BIG which is good for the sport. If you REALLY want to make conference championships meaningless, take away that bye week reward. There were years where I was absolutely convinced the Big 12 was stronger than the SEC as a whole, but pollsters did not agree. This ensures that those champions will have a fair shot to prove themselves. Also, I've seen a lot of whining about the 5-seed path and how it's not fair. More often than not, the 5 seed will be a top 2-3 team in the country. Some years, it will be a team that was #1 and lost in the conference championship game. A decent draw of seeds, but having to play one extra game, seems like a fair result.
