  1. Maybe we can barrel into the first baseman and get a couple obstruction calls as well.
  2. Mike White needs to get himself arrested right now.
  3. Sorry if I was unclear, I was referring to the Israel-Palestine conflict as nuanced. The actions of Boulder guy are very black and white (fuck him!).
  4. The bottom line is that this is an issue with a hell of a lot of gray that the majority of people seem to want to view as black and white. And if you choose to view this issue as black and white, well it's pretty easy to get radicalized (in either direction). We currently do not live in a world capable of handling complexity and nuance.
  5. McRaven doesn’t fit my age criteria, but he has the resume to maybe make it work. I just haven’t seen any evidence that he has the political chops (or desire) to be viable. He’d have to be willing to go scorched earth, though. Call JD Vance a pussy to his face type shit. He’d get eaten alive if he just tries to be the wise, calm military man.
  6. Almost impossible spot for that 3B, but that goes foul if she lets it.
  7. Yep. Legit antisemitism from the right. Anti-Israel from the left. Puts the "not overly religious but love our grandparents and feel something special towards Israel but hate Neyanyahu" American Jew in a weird spot politically.
  8. Who are you afraid of? Is it a specific group of people that you feel threatened by or is it a "it could be anyone, anywhere, anytime" kind of thing? I have the feeling Jews are not alone whatever the answer. I'm sorry this is happening. The last two weeks have made it clear that despite what my personal opinion of the conflict may be, I am now seemingly putting my family at risk by attending any sort of Jewish event that could be construed by someone as favorable to Israel. Not wanting to get into any kind of trauma dick measuring contest (yes, there are clearly many groups who have been treated worse over the years), just merely an observation that you certainly won't be catching me or my family at a public menorah lighting this year, and that's a development that makes me sad.
  9. Talarico legitimately has the Presidential "it" factor, but only if he leaves this god forsaken state.
  10. This is the least safe I’ve ever felt as a Jew in America and I honestly can’t think of second place.
  11. satya jumping to an incorrectly negative conclusion? Well I never…
  12. The straight white male candidate needs to be the Trojan horse for the policies. They aren’t getting past the gate otherwise.
  13. The smartest thing the Democratic Party could do in 2028 is ignore the opinions of anyone with a Bluesky account.
  14. FYI for those who haven't ventured out of this thread... aggy couldn't find the buyout money.
  15. Texas A&M baseball retaining Michael Earley, AD Trev Alberts 'Fully support his vision' https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/college/aggies/2025/05/30/michael-earley-texas-am-aggies-baseball/83903048007/
  16. Personally, I think Pete is by far the most electable option at this point (and I've seen him have weird, inexplicable crossover appeal to a lot of Republican voters like my parents) but there is a key Democratic demographic that really does not seem to be on board with him to date, and I have no idea how he wins them over. (most electable does not necessarily mean I think he would win, FWIW)
  17. White guy under 55 who is capable of holding a conversation with stupid people. Aka a unicorn in Democratic circles.
  18. The fact that millions of Americans DON'T find this shit embarrassing is such a horrific indictment of this country.
  19. Correct. Dems need to hammer the Taco thing until it kills him. Reactions like the one yesterday are not sustainable.
  20. Or maybe players will be buddy buddy with him to try and score one of the Survivor cameos he gives out each season. I'm genuinely shocked he is coming back.
  21. So tomorrow morning they announce the returning players that will make up the cast of Survivor 50, but it sounds like the list got spoiled:
  22. Fox News also is the reason I’m bad at math. Jokes aside, I’m not necessarily saying folks watching that specific channel is the issue. But the absolute polarization that has resulted from the way they cover politics and how it has seeped into all corners of political discourse is the root cause of most of this.
