  1. They care about getting attention more than solving the issue.
  2. Hysterical news coverage aside, it really does feel like the garbage comment is being amplified as a big deal by Republicans trying to win an election, while the Puerto Rico comments were amplified by people who were previously uninvolved with the political process. Seems like quite a big distinction.
  3. Hopefully his heart gives out 30 seconds after the networks make the call.
  4. He must have read your post history.
  5. What a disgrace that this thing is even close.
  6. I know people (jokingly?) said Verlander, but the person going on Rogan is JD Vance.
  7. Not the main point here, but lol at that Angry Birds pig Matt Mackowiak being shown his ass with this.
  8. Good lord, the ugliness is really spewing out in these final days. EDIT: Hank beat me to it
  9. Especially with the knowledge AT THE TIME that we were choosing him over Jordan Davis and Kyle Hamilton. This isn't some hindsight stuff, it was highly questionable at the time.
  10. I could probably make a case that the young white male "Rogan" crowd has increased over the last few years, but 1) that's probably the least reliable demographic (when it comes to accomplishing anything, not just voting) in the country and 2) no way it more than offsets stories like the one you present.
  11. Anthony Jeselnik has a comedy style that many people would compare to that Hinchcliffe guy, however he does a good job here IMO of explaining the difference between edgy comedy and trolling.
  12. This sent me down a rabbit hole, indulge me for a second. In 2020, there were ten Senate races decided by 10 points or less: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia*, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, and Texas. Trump underperformed the Senate candidate in 8 of the 10 races. In Arizona, he overperformed by 2.1% points and in Iowa he overperformed by 1.6%. There is zero historical evidence, none, to show Trump is capable of consistently running ahead of a competitive Senate race - let alone by the 5+ points that we are seeing in some of these polls.
  13. The funny thing about the polls across the board this year is that they generally, logically make sense … except for the Presidential race. It seems fairly obvious at this point that in order to avoid a third straight MAGA underestimation, there is a Trump-specific correction being applied to that race that is not being applied to the rest by the pollsters.
  14. Considering it is widely believed that Obama’s roast began Trump’s political career, it would be incredibly fitting if a roast comic ended it.
  15. So it took a while but it’s unmistakably clear now: way, WAY more Trump signage in Katy now than in 2020.
  16. Comedians who whine about cancel culture always will say something like “don’t come to the place where we tell jokes if you cannot handle jokes” (which I absolutely agree with!) The implication, of course, is that they recognize that the things they say are not acceptable in all situations. A political rally, for example, would be at the top of that list. He won’t be, but this dude needs to be ruined.
  17. JD Vance is the epitome of everything Republican voters said they hated about politicians in 2016 when they supported Trump.
  18. The ceiling for a team led by Reed is much, much lower than Weigman when teams prepare for him.
  19. Says the man still on the fence about Trump’s position on Ukraine.
  20. Live look at Russia vs all your friends and family because you treated this vote like a reality show.
  21. I think you’re confusing confidence and optimism. I’d call this forum optimistic for Kamala’s chances, not confident. Eight years ago was very different. The national media was basically already crowning Hillary, while downballot Democrats were trying to sound the alarm and the MAGA enthusiasm was obviously through the roof. No idea what this year will bring, but the narrative is currently favoring Trump yet no Democrats are publicly sounding the alarm, Kamala is drawing 30k on a Friday night, and Republicans are claiming that electoral college electors should be awarded prior to counting votes. Again, I’m not CONFIDENT in her chances, but there are a lot of things that would make a Kamala win look obvious in hindsight.
