  1. To be clear, I’ve stated that I wouldn’t go Shapiro. All I’m saying is that “Democrats/Kamala don’t care about Jews” is guaranteed to be one of the Republican attack points, and videos of monument vandalism and Hamas flags flying outside the capital while American flags burn will only escalate the issue to outside those of us terminally online, and make it more likely something that the party feels a need to address. I love the idea of protesting Bibi (fuck him) but it was carried out in the least productive way possible for anyone who truly wants to fix the issue and not just let out emotion.
  2. They would need to add a couple more zeroes to get me to willingly move from Palo Alto to Lubbock.
  3. There will be riots in Chicago regardless. But these are going to be the images they try and pin to Kamala, and they do NOT play well with the America that lives mostly offline.
  4. I hope they realize that shit like this makes it much more likely for the Dems to think they need someone like Shapiro on the ticket.
  5. If it’s announced that Kamala has to return some of the donations, the ensuing donation surge at ActBlue would make earlier this week look like child’s play.
  6. When things are going great and you're definitely not worried.
  7. If she wants to save some time and lock in the loss early, I found the pick.
  8. I like Shapiro, but I think this is where I am as well.
  9. This will be my last post on this in here as I don't want to fuck up this thread with a topic everyone hates, but I had a conversation with a relative last week (pre-Biden dropout) that really shook me. For my entire life, she's been the most reliable Democratic voter I know, yet she informed me that while she would never vote for Trump, any politician that she does vote for in November will be Republican... and it's because she feels betrayed by how the Democratic party has treated Israel, the lack of support for Jewish students on college campuses, etc. (NOTE: I pushed back, highlighted how many feel that they are too PRO-Israel, how this is NOT the election to make a point, how it's insane to make this the single issue that defines your politics... yada yada yada). In no way am I trying to say that she has a point or that I agree with her so please don't attack the messenger, I am merely pointing out that while much of the analysis is on how bringing in a pro-Israel candidate for VP could hurt the party, I do imagine there is probably some thought behind how it could mend some frayed relationships. This relative is active in the Jewish community and I have to think her opinion is shared among most of her circle.
  10. It was taken last week, when Kamala as a candidate was merely an idea and not reality. Bandwagon/vibes effect is real and not shown in these numbers.
  11. This is a pretty gross tweet for a national reporter like McMurphy.
  12. The left wing is shockingly in Harris’s corner right now (especially given how much they hated her 4 years ago) but they aren’t even trying to hide how much they do not want her to pick the Jew as VP. Those comments have been a surprising downer in an otherwise incredible last 48 hours.
  13. Right wing twitter spreading rumors that Biden is in hospice and unlikely to survive the night… seems legit.
  14. All I'm saying is that if I was a scriptwriter who was about to have an arrogant asshole lose to a woman, I would definitely make his entrance song "It's a Man's World."
  15. A bit unrelated but remember a viral tweet a few years ago that said (roughly) Republicans lose elections because they are weirdos with terrible ideas, but can't seem to find it. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  16. Republicans have decided that the George Floyd era has run its course, yet they've forgotten that public displays of disrespect to the disenfranchised communities led to such outcry that these DEI positions were deemed necessary by almost every company in existence in order to survive. Things have changed a lot since the last time a black person ran for president (same goes for women and #metoo), and the escalation of rhetoric will only push many potential voters away.
  17. "My enthusiastic support for Kamala Harris for President is official, personal and political." That woman knows how to turn a phrase.
  18. It's obvious that any Republican planning about Biden dropping out involved a contentious fight for the spot. They have absolutely no idea how to attack a unified party right now.
  19. What's the basis for this? If it's purely due to delayed public endorsement, there's legitimate strategy involved in having the true power players (besides Biden, he always needed to be first) come out after the debate has generally been settled.
  20. Attaboy Joe. Your legacy will benefit immeasurably from this.
