  1. The idea of landing all three 5 stars is fun, but high school WR recruiting is the one spot that nobody should lose sleep over, ever. There will be countless portal options every year for a Sark offense.
  2. Yes, life was famously great during Jim Crow times for families that looked like this.
  3. Why I stopped voting Republican, summed up in a single poll.
  4. There seems to be an incompetence battle going on between Espada and Brown, and they are both winning.
  5. I think the Republicans obsession with him is far, far weirder. We experienced an unprecedented pandemic. The guy who was essentially the Michael Jordan of infectious diseases became the face of the fight against it. Republicans realized early-on that they needed a boogeyman to pin the horror of 2020 on (and couldn't pick the leader of the country, for obvious reasons) so they settled on this guy. There should be absolutely no reason anyone is still talking about him in 2024, let alone calling him before congress to yell at him.
  6. There is definitely a vocal contingent of the population more concerned with getting Biden to chant "Free Palestine!" than actually freeing Palestine.
  7. What if Michelle Obama tried to encourage children to eat healthier? You are bringing sane solutions to an insane country.
  8. If Biden announced a plan to combat AI, 40% of the population would immediately pledge undying loyalty to the new AI overlords.
  9. The juxtaposition between “Texas will not be able to handle the rabid fanbases and pure hatred in the SEC” and “why doesn’t Texas wanna be our bff?!?” will always be funny to me.
  10. The Astros have been a .500 team over the last 180ish games. This is who we are. And it doesn't matter where we stand in the AL, we will need to win our division. And right now we are getting smoked in the standings by two teams who have underachieved almost as much as we have.
  11. Meanwhile, 42% of America firmly believes that the Democrats are the ones corrupting the legal process, and will claim unfairness or overreach if there is any attempt to investigate/prosecute these obviously illegal dealings.
  12. All this "SCOTUS will overturn talk" is primarily to provide cover for sitting congressmen to endorse a convicted felon. I was wondering why so many of them made some kind of "I fully anticipate it being overturned on appeal" remark immediately after the ruling, and then realized it's the fool-proof response to "why are you supporting a felon?" They know the appeals process will last past the election, so there's no downside regardless of whether or not they really believe it will be appealed. And bonus points for them: this Calvinball SCOTUS might figure out some way to make them correct.
  13. It's honestly jarring to go back and listen to his 2016 speeches. The tone isn't much different, but the content has changed dramatically. Back then the underlying message of every speech was "everything sucks for you, here's why I'm the only one who can fix it." It's obviously bullshit, but there's at least some kind of campaigning for votes in there. Now, it is literally just "here's all the bad things happening to me and why you need to let me get revenge." That's it. Occasionally he'll throw in a "and if they do it to me, they can do it to you" to loosely relate it to the common person, but it is remarkable how little campaigning he is doing. It's just whining.
  14. I know logic left the debate long ago, but I'd like just one of these fuckers to be asked if "you can be punished for using campaign funds and then lying about it to cover up fucking a porn star so that you win an election" is a more dangerous precedent than "you cannot be prosecuted if you are running for office"... because the latter sure appears to be what many are arguing.
