  1. Almost every pundit is essentially saying that Texas would have a "better" resume if they had beaten Georgia in the first matchup but lost to Arkansas, which is an absolutely insane conclusion.
  2. I'm wrong a lot with stuff that seems obvious to me, so it's nice to get confirmation on the thought that Venables was one of the most obvious busts in recent coaching history.
  3. You either decide that you are gonna become a big market team (and attempt to extend the core) or you don't. If not, then you have to trade Tucker and Framber now and attempt to shave a few years off the rebuild.
  4. The argument is so stupid. If literally nothing else changed this season except aggy scoring in the 3OT vs Auburn, we would have a ranked win. Also, the premise is flawed. If we beat Georgia in October but then turned around and lost to Arkansas, would that make us a better team? A lot of people on the internet seem to think so!
  5. Hell, I’d immediately ask if everyone can get their letters if I give mine (and the reward) up. Pander the fuck out of this no win opportunity and make him say no.
  6. I believe Vegas was the first indicator that 1) we were safely in and then 2) FSU was out.
  7. Texas trailed for less than 8 minutes the entire season against teams not named Georgia. “Up and down” lmao.
  8. A conference championship would have been nice, and a bye obviously has its perks, but I think every team in the nation would take a Clemson/SMU and Boise/ASU path to the final four over a single game against a team like ND/Georgia/Penn St.
  9. But that was the case yesterday as well, and they had us ahead.
  10. Not at all trying to diminish the season Notre Dame has had, as there is no doubt there has been a lot of domination there. But y'all trailed for more minutes against Miami (OH) (a game that you ended up winning 28-3) than we have combined all season to non-Georgia opponents. Again, not trying to insult Notre Dame here, but merely trying to highlight how batshit this season has been for the Longhorns when you dig into the numbers.
  11. lol jk the current state of college football fucking rules
  12. I think this is one of those weird times where being socially awkward paid off. They weren't tipped off to any potential weird behavior, because he is always a bit strange.
  13. Quick check so I might have missed something, but if you are looking at second halves of non-Georgia games: Mississippi State was down 14-6 for the entire 3Q (15 mins) Vanderbilt was down 24-17 from 3:11 in the 3rd until 2:00 in the 4th (16:11) and then within 3 for the final 0:46. 330 second half minutes played outside Georgia, the opponent has been within one score for about 32 of them. So not only are we leading, 90% of the time the other team isn't even within striking distance. Fucking domination.
  14. I know I keep beating this dead horse, but it's crazy to me that it is getting absolutely no attention. Everyone is focusing on the schedule, but outside of the Georgia game, nobody is appreciating the level of dominance this team has shown. Colorado State - Never trailed Michigan - Never trailed UTSA - Never trailed ULM - Never trailed Mississippi State - Never trailed Oklahoma - Trailed from 0:15 left in the 1st quarter until 11:20 left in the 2nd (scored TD next drive) Vanderbilt - Trailed from 9:40 left in the 1st quarter until 5:37 left in the 1st (scored TD next drive) Florida - Never trailed Arkansas - Never trailed Kentucky - Never trailed aggy - Never trailed Over the 11 games (660 minutes) besides Georgia, we have trailed for SEVEN MINUTES AND 58 SECONDS. Both times where we saw the other team score first, we immediately went and scored a touchdown and never looked back. Do we appreciate how fucking insane this is? In a year full of upsets, taking care of business from the opening kickoff over and over and over again has to mean something.
  15. Funny you bring that episode up. It’s from Survivor: Marquesas, it’s my absolute favorite episode of all time, and I also thought tonight reminded me of that one. It’s the episode that turned me from a casual fan into a super fan when I watched it live, twenty-something years ago. Long video that’s absolutely worth the watch, but the part you’re talking about starts picking up steam around 7 minutes in. Concludes with maybe the most iconic voting confessional (and the most unintentionally funny final words) of the entire series.
  16. That was the best episode of this show in at least a decade. Just a masterpiece.
  17. Texags launched in 1998. The Aggies won their last conference title in 1998. In genuine sincerity, I do not think this is a coincidence. The victim complex groupthink generated by that website amongst that fanbase (even at the highest, most influential levels) has done immeasurable harm to that athletic department, and I love it so much.
  18. He’s been committed to them for like 4 months, I’m assuming this was from that announcement. That being said, setting the current table up with a ton of OU gear and picking anyone else would be essentially unprecedented levels of recruiting shenanigans.
  19. This staff's ability to put out fires (with the aid of a few donors, I'm sure) is as solid as I can remember in my time following recruiting.
  20. Just chiming in to say that this thread title makes me laugh every time I see it. Well done.
