  1. The way Greenspoint lives his professional life in the medical field is the most extreme I’ve even heard of anywhere.
  2. Nowadays Bitcoin is far less about tax avoidance. It’s extremely difficult for an American to buy BTC from entity where you don’t go through kyc. I know I’m going to pay taxes. Bitcoin is more about wealth preservation and opting out of a corrupt system. It’s also censorship resistant, which is something that is becoming more and more appealing as time goes by. How much of a leap is it from the US Gov tracking all flows of funds in every bank account to we don’t approve of that transaction so we’re stopping it directly? That’s dystopian bullshit and I’m not down for that. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that people over look something like that. There’s a chance that I’m jumping to conclusions here, but there was not a lot of specifics given on what accounts they would like to track. Only accounts over a certain size? Only certain kinds of businesses? The parameters will be expanded. In any event it’s a crappy thing to drop in a massive bill like this. But again, people here are all, “GO IRS!” 🤦🏻‍♂️
  3. From the WH fact sheet. “The President’s proposal would change the game—by making sure the wealthiest Americans play by the same set of rules as all other Americans. It would require financial institutions to report information on account flows so that earnings from investments and business activity are subject to reporting more like wages already are.” On everyone’s accounts? Everywhere? Wouldn’t that be maximum Big Brother financial surveillance? Where are the details?
  4. Please educate me. From the Oxford English Dictionary an advocate of a political system in which the state has substantial centralized control over social and economic affairs. Or put another way as it’s commonly used now, favoring state control over that of the individual. In the example of Bad Teammate, advocating for the ban of peer to peer monetary technology.
  5. Another statist response. More Bitcoin specifically, but ok.
  6. I did. I was duped. It happens. Fortunately it was a funny, but inconsequential story. How many things were posted here without hesitation because of an agenda the last 4 years that ended up being false? That actually involved national security etc? Chasing Trump’s shadow. Get over yourselves.
  7. Since you don’t like the source and therefore refuse to engage, like a simpleton, here’s a tweet thread that might help. It’s from a Republican, though. 😬 Sorry long thread. Including a link to a WaPo piece that might be unsettling to you. 😬 But this girl keeps moving around and up the ladder.
  8. I’m not aware of an instance of being “forced” to publish something. There’s other varieties of coordinated media malfeasance though. How about people that repeatedly produce false or misleading content but somehow continue upward climb through mainstream media hierarchy?
  9. It’s tough because, yeah he’s a country boy, but that big city bottom fills him up with joy
  10. Yeah it’s a bad look. How long should I go without posting NY Post articles? Should I just wait as long as posters here did before posting MSM outlet scoops again following Trump “bombshells” that weren’t true?
  11. Some good points. I’d offer the obvious counterpoint that the size and scope of monetary stimulus this recession was unprecedented, including direct stimulus.
  12. I wish. I grew up thinking when you’re rich you don’t pay much taxes. Turns out I was wrong.
  13. Oof. This is a gross take. Very statist. You’re a dangerous person. I meant to put mostly, but I stand by that statement.

    Gun Control

We recently learned that bear spray is not lethal though. May not be adequate deterrent.
  15. Probably a waste as well. But will someone think of the poor IRS! Said (almost) no one ever.
