  1. both Biden’s team seem to have continued the same strategy as what won the election. He’s keeping a low profile. And this board is excessively obsessed with the loonies on the right too.
  2. It was the Puerto Ricans. Cmon man
  3. She’s already affecting border policy.

  5. Yeah he needs to change it up. Maybe sprinkle in “you’re a white supremacist” every now and then.
  6. The contrast is pretty interesting and one that as a random white guy jumps out at me fairly often with these racial issues. Marcellus is the black guy from the real hood (South Central) that still made a comfortable life who typically downplays racism or at least doesn’t always look to that as the reason for everything. Manny is the guy who I’m pretty sure had a stable childhood (just going off Nigerian heritage and St Marks high school) that is more likely to see racism as behind a lot of what happens. I mean he hosted a bachelor show where a white chick who was trying to marry a black dude was shamed for being racist. Wtf. As an outsider it strikes me as overcompensating. A lot of these activists seem the same but for different reasons besides stable upbringing. Maybe they’re mixed race. Or married to a white chick or something. Just what I see.
  7. I agree that the chart looks rough, but during the last bull run of 2017 the price dumped well below the 50 DMA 4 times. This is the first time this year.
  8. Protests/civil unrest around the country? I don’t buy the line that he meant #ACCOUNTABILITY like a full investigation of the shooting and a proper legal process, if necessary. Especially in the context of showing his pic and saying “you’re next”. You’re next for a proper investigation and trial by jury of your peers. Um, no. Look at his leaders here. It’s unacceptable to them. The whole American legal process takes too long for these people. It shows “how broken it is”.
  9. The racial slur hoax was the first big red flag with him.
  10. Well it’s a long way from Biden proposes to Biden signs into law. 80% is on the high side of taxes for anything in the world I’d imagine. Not totally surprising, but not excited about this fight either
  11. You’re still discounting the permissionless, censorship resistant nature of something like Bitcoin. Also, essentially unconfiscatable.
  12. A US cbdc if created will be meant to compete with the Chinese Cbdc. And also stablecoins like USDC or Tether. Bitcoin is something different right now. Other cryptocurrencies like ETH will be unaffected by Cbdcs. They have different use cases than simple monetary transactions
  13. I’ll start by saying I’m no economist (obviously), but a glaring hole I find problematic with MMT is the idea that you just raise taxes to take money out of circulation and tamp down inflation. It sounds like a great thing to say, but when you spend so much time saying the amount of spending and deficits don’t matter, then politically it’s an almost impossible ask to say now we need to raise taxes. I know they’d be saying it’s to fight inflation, but with prices for goods rising who on Earth is really going to propose and craft legislation that will take money from people. It’s not feasible, unless I’m missing something. Without that I see MMT as essentially endless spending until you get devaluation and high inflation.
  14. That’s a good point. A counter point I’ve seen that makes sense is all of the prior BTC tops have occurred with high volatility at the end. This has been a low vol (for BTC) market, especially the last few weeks. I don’t think they have a big effect, at least on BTC. In a lot of ways they’re exact opposites. CBDCs will be centralized, censorable, offering limited if any privacy protections, and with a theoretically unlimited supply.
  15. He’s a frustrating person to follow. On one hand, few people have had more pressure foisted on them at such a young age and handled it so admirably while largely living up to the expectations. On the other hand, he’s a poorly informed man with a high school education that uses his platform and influence in ways that I find regrettable and hypocritical, but that’s his right. Today was definitely his worst turn though.
  16. Because prominent celebrities and politicians have said or implied the opposite. And then we argue about it.
  17. He’s a social media addicted, poorly informed athlete of questionable intelligence whose opinion in a healthy society would mean little. That post is doxxing and inciting violence against an innocent police officer. LeBron may have actually jumped the shark here. This will be interesting litmus test.
  18. Jeez with this stuff and the poll on the perceptions of Covid, you’d almost think the mainstream media is willfully trying to deceive people to certain destructive ends. Almost like they’re an enemy of the people.
