  1. In-state versus out-of-state rivalries.
  2. My daughter (no pics) went to UK and lives in Lexington. She works in the thoroughbred racing industry, so she didn't go to UT although accepted. Still a UT fan, though. Anywho, she says American and Delta have both added non-stop LEX-AUS flights. She usually wears a TEXAS hat while at horse auctions and farms and most people she meets say they are coming to Austin for the game. All this to say Kentucky does care and should have a decent turnout. But no one is predicting a UK victory, which terrifies me. 😳
  3. The cheapest tickets are in UT sections. Not sure what that tells me.
  4. Yes I'm old. The SWC was fun in the 60's and early 70's. But TV changed the landscape of college football. Oh, and fuck the piggies. Lots of hate reserved for them.
  5. Weather looks good. Was worried about cold rain which NW Ark can have this time of year. Nice weather, early start, we smoke them by 3 TDs.
  6. Wait. Tony Hinchcliffe lives in Austin?!? Aw shit.
  7. NSIAP I might have missed this, but didn't realize until today that you can go to the Texas SoS website and validate that your vote has been counted. https://earlyvoting.texas-election.com/Elections/getElectionDetails.do Select NOV 5TH GENERAL ELECTION, then enter the date you voted. Download csv file where you can find your name.
  8. How do they break this out by party registration in Texas? There is no party registration. Is it based on voting in primaries?
  9. For those waiting in long voting lines in Travis County, don't you check https://votetravis.gov/current-election-information/current-election/ before going to the polls? Shows wait times. I saw the long line at Bee Caves Randalls so went to the South Austin Rec Center. In and out in 10 minutes.
  10. Damn. One guy on the white helmet team (Texas?) is playing without a helmet.
  11. So, what? Do they use two crayons instead of one to circle the game? It would always be their biggest game no matter how many losses they had.
  12. The Cotton Bowl is glorious. Not for the weak nor timid.
  13. Thanks @squib and @Ghost of LL for the detailed recommendations. Just returned. Great time but too short of a trip. The marathon took up a good chunk of the time in Berlin. But we managed to hit up Scheer's Schnitzel and Markthalle Neun by ESG, a few museums, and Hitler's bunker, among other places. My favorite was Checkpoint Charlie. Oktoberfest was fun as always.
  14. I'm going to Checkpoint Charlie, dammit! 😄
  15. And they have Miami as 3 seed and Utah 4 seed in the Quarterfinals section. But it's flipped in the 1st Round section where they show who first-round winners play next. Get your shit together, CBS.
  16. Thanks @squib for the detailed recommendations! Will definitely try those.
  17. We're waiting... Seriously, thanks for all the recs. I am heading to Berlin and Munich (Oktoberfest) in two weeks. I have been to Munich several times, including Oktoberfest five times, so have that covered. But never been to Berlin. Friend is running Berlin Marathon so we'll be there for four days. Any other recommendations on Berlin?
  18. Except pretty sure that was our first Big12 game even though it was the first game of the season.
  19. No. NBA and MLB are too boring. But that's me. You can customize the order of channels in your guide. Group channels how you want to see them. Hide channels you don't care about so your list of channels is smaller. Great during March Madness as I group CBS, TBS, TNT, TruTV to make switching between games easy. Superior setup to having channel numbers.
  20. I think the Pac6 wet dream is to pull Stanford and Cal back after they realize the travel is a nightmare. Holding two spots for them before adding anyone else.
  21. There were a lot of Texas fans at the game. IMG_0404.MOV
  22. I've been going to away football games for 40 years and this was the best fan base I have encountered. Nebraska is probably a close second -- and Ohio St the worst. Everyone I met was extremely gracious and welcoming. Invited to many tailgates before and after the game. Of course, your mileage may vary. Heard "down horns" several times but no invasion of personal space.
