  1. No more odd than evangelical Christians voting for a serial adulterer. These people come together based on what they're against, not what they're for.
  2. I never said that, but hey, feel free to fuck off.
  3. I doubt it, considering that their current QB is the preseason MWC player of the year and Tyner couldn't crack the starting line up of a bad CUSA school.
  4. Fantana can speak for himself, but it seems pretty clear that he didn't criticize Kliff's QB coaching. He said even with a future NFL MVP type QB and 2 other future NFL QBs, Kliff still couldn't win. Butt Fumble is the moron you need to focus on.
  5. Again, I am 100% sure he knew what Tyner was capable of, or not capable of. You think we would have won the game or even made it close if Duffey had played the first two series?
  6. So, a professional college football coach can't grasp the difference in talent between the Big 12 and MWC, but you can. Got it.
  7. I live in north Austin and work at UT, and I'd say the same.
  8. You really think someone who's a former college QB himself, a former FBS level OC, and currently a FBS level head coach with an overall winning record is that poor an evaluator of QB talent? I see no reason whatsoever to believe that.
  9. I'm not sure that hanging with WVU proves very much.
  10. Based on how both teams have performed so far, you'd have to think so.
  11. Jett has had numerous chances to show he's trustworthy and has failed to do so. He didn't earn Kliff's trust (i.e. the trust of the guy that recruited him), and he hasn't earned the trust of the new staff. If he's improved at all in the time he's been at Tech, it's barely discernible, and he's had multiple off field disciplinary issues, including getting kicked off the team for a year. If Tech had anything else resembling a D1 QB, that guy would be playing instead of Duffey. That's how it is. He knows that, and anyone paying attention know that. There are even rumors that he wants to transfer out at the end of the season. It's just a bad situation, left over from the previous regime. I think Wells is much more interested in establishing the culture he wants, rather than investing loads of time and energy in players like Duffey who almost certainly won't be around next year, just so the scores in losses are a little less lopsided.
  12. Everyone knows that Jett is the least bad of our current QB options, including Wells.
  13. I think it's pretty clear he knew Tyner couldn't hang at this level. I'm fairly sure starting him was a statement to Duffey and the rest of the team that the guy who works hard and does things the right way will get the first crack at a starting job.
  14. Remember, Kevin D Williamson is a fucking imbecile.
  15. All I'm saying is at least it was just a thorough beat down, the likes of which Tech has suffered many times to helmet teams on the road since I started watching Tech football back in the mid '80s, not a psyche killing, historically bad evisceration that people will talk about for years, like the 82-27 loss to TCU in 2014. Thank 'lil Dick Bag Riley for that, definitely. I just don't see how anybody can expect Wells and Yost to do much with the shitburger QB situation Arizona Cardinals head coach and noted QB guru Kliff Kingsbury left behind. It's just damage control for the Tech coaching staff right now. Mediocre to poor talent across the board, save for a few good receivers, no depth, and trying to run an offensive system a lot of guys don't really fit into.
  16. I think that's pretty much it. If he had wanted to score 80+, he could have.
  17. Circa 2014, a lot of Tech fans were freaking out thinking we'd hired the wrong former QB to be our HC, especially after TCU laid that 82-27 beatdown on us. Turns out, both guys suck.
  18. I have sling, and they've lost the Fox channels too (I think Sling is owned by Dish). So, Sling billed me on the 23rd, got rid of/lost the channel I specifically subscribed to watch on the 26th, and they won't do a damn thing to compensate me for it.
  19. Black/white/black was more or less our standard road combo for a long time, and I agree it's a good look. They have a throwback version (corresponding to the '80 style home combo I mentioned), but I don't think they've worn it in a while. I remember them wearing those when Mahomes was a sophomore and we beat Arky in Fayetteville in 2015, but I can't recall seeing them since that season. They have done black/white/black with the modern style unis. From the Tuberville years forward, we've occasionally done white helmet/white jersey/red pants on the road, which looks like absolute shit. That may be the worst, most non-Tech looking uni they've ever pulled out (leaving aside some of the grotesqueries, like all the all-gray unis, that we wore in Kliff's first two seasons and never revisited). I like all red with a black helmet. For some reason, I think white helmets are OK as a change of pace, but red helmets on Tech are just weird. Needless to say, leaving aside the color combos, these throwbacks are generally superior because of the traditional striping, traditional fonts and, most importantly, the non-bevelled/2D double T.
  20. Believe it or not, there's a relationship between other species' survival and ours. Also, to your second point: A. it'll be expensive to change our energy infrastructure, but it'll be more expensive longer we wait; and B. yes, the elites will do everything they can to make the middle and lower classes pay for the transition to green energy - that's how they do, and what fundamentally needs to change. We got to this point to this point by allowing them to profit off of exploiting and damaging the environment without making them pay for that damage.
