  1. This is a bit of hyperbole: When the entire football program is burning to the ground, it seems almost pointless to discuss the details of a given game...
  2. No, you're thinking of Derek Dorris. Eric Morris was in junior high in 1998.
  3. I don't know what happened with that K-State game, but honestly, I would be OK with him coming back, assuming he can beat Baylor. If they do, I don't really think they would need to make major changes. He has the right coaching staff in place. That was a major issue his first 3-4 years, but now, the biggest issues now are with Kliff himself. I think he's arrived a good overall strategic approach, which is that he wants an offense that can run the ball a bit and build up some time of possession, to go with the passing attack. He's still a bad game manager, though. I guess the one thing the AD could do is force him to give up the play calling, which a lot of people have been asking for for a while. If Kliff is retained, it will be a situation where he probably would have to go along with externally mandated changes like that. To me, the biggest problem with keeping him will be that the fanbase will be collectively quite pissed off, season ticket sales will suffer, etc.
  4. They've played hard and with emotion in every game this season until KSU.
  5. The buyout is not going to be the deciding factor if he stays or goes.
  6. Yeah, this seems a lot like how 2016 played out, where they had close losses to OU, UT and OSU and then shit the bed against Iowa State, even though they could've still made a bowl game. Instead they imploded and finished with a losing record. When I saw guys crying after losing to UT last week, I was afraid they might come out super flat today. Needless to say, this is not a good performance for a coach who's ostensibly coaching for his job.
  7. Today he did. This one today was just a classic "we ain't feelin it, coach Kingsbury"/"give the fuck up before the game's even started" loss.
  8. Work harder and get a better job, obviously.
  9. No, it's an argument for funding school districts more equally. You may not be aware of this, but there are many public school systems in this country that are excellent. Not coincidentally, they're usually located in areas where property values are high.
  10. There is some, but more importantly, some kids get a lot more than that spent on them per year and many more get a lot less.
  11. Is it your belief that a majority of public school students across the US receive something close to this $11-12,000 level of funding (or the 2018 equivalent) per year?
  12. Yep, I think Kliff has turned a corner and has been limited by bad luck with QB injuries this year, but until he starts winning big games at home, there a lot of people who are gonna go back to their tailgate after halftime and drink rather than sitting in freezing cold stands waiting for Kliff to do something they've never seen him do.
  13. Tech lands "highest ranked recruit in program history", 4 star guard Jahmius Ramsey from Duncanville: https://247sports.com/college/texas-tech/Article/Jahmius-Ramsey-Texas-Tech-Red-Raiders-124411709/
  14. It's about the type of ID, not the use of ID in principal.
  15. No, it declares that they have to have certain type of ID to vote that the state government knew was not accessible to them.
  16. The law that kept them from voting is a state law.
  17. Uh, no they can't. This has nothing to do with tribal sovereignty. It has to do with targeting a group of voters in a small state who typically vote D.
  18. No, like declaring that because Native Americans on reservations in North Dakota don't have proper mailing addresses (because the postal service won't deliver to their houses and force them to use PO boxes), they can't be registered to vote.
  19. The difference is, Tech has moved from historically bad to sub-mediocre on defense over the last couple of years, whereas UT's D looked legitimately good for a while this season and then suddenly imploded.
  20. Because no one's actively trying to come up with ways to stop them.
  21. He's overrated as a DC. Nice guy, though.
  22. This game is just Tech versus Tech with more talent, but strangely actual Tech might have the slightly better defense.
  23. I'm surprised they couldn't contrive some penalty call on that.
