  1. That was actually the first Tech game I ever attended. Bill Joe Tolliver was not in good form that day.
  2. The spirit of Bobby brown shoes still haunts us, but I'm encouraged by the start, all in all. Once they get all the new players in, they should be a lot better defensively.
  3. We're back! I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and pay for NBC Gold. NSNO
  4. For the "most far left person on the board" you sure seem happy to spout all the same cliches as my most die hard Trumpkin relatives in West Texas.
  5. Ocean levels are apparently rising even faster than expected.

Yeah, FC Dallas is a pretty well run organization and does well with the player development side of things, but that's a different point. It's just a shame that they're so far out of the city. If they had a downtown stadium, they'd draw maybe twice as many people. It unfortunately feeds into the narrative that "Texas doesn't support pro soccer and doesn't deserve three MLS teams."

Seattle, like Atlanta, also shares a stadium with an NFL team and also draws Atlanta-like crowds (I understand you're talking about relatively new stadiums). Anyhow, I've only seen two MLS stadiums in person, in Frisco (FC Dallas) and in Harrison, NJ (Red Bulls). The Frisco one looks like it was built with expansion in mind. It's nice enough, but so basic you have to think they had planned to add on to it later. The Red Bulls' stadium is circular and has an overhang all around, so, while I'm no architect, I have to think it's as big as it'll ever be. That being said, if MLS could draw at least 20,000 most of the time in most cities with a few outliers like Atlanta and Seattle, I would think they would be quite happy. Then again, the fact that they even awarded a franchise to Columbus in the first place (and that they allowed FC Dallas to be placed in Frisco, which is more or less a permanent handicap to that franchise) makes me think that, at least as of the mid '90s, they had no idea how big pro soccer could be in the US.

Yellow is the most unique color in the league, as the primary color anyway, but I think it's good to leave that behind, in case Columbus wants to start a new version of the Crew. I would've been happy with just about any normal soccer color scheme as long as it didn't use red and/or blue.

Well, they can just fuck themselves then. I'm very happy with name, badge and colors. I can't wait to buy an official shirt/jersey.
  10. Not that anyone here disagrees, but goddamn, these are fucking hideous.

So, we're definitely going with that? It is distinctive.

I live in her district, and my impression is that many more want it, but those against, as usual, are making more noise.
  14. It's fertile territory for banter.
  15. The one and only time I went to a Texans game (in 2006), my buddy and I stopped at the concessions stand before heading to our seats after getting into the stadium, and there were not one but two guys in line in front of us wearing cowboy hats and aggy style denim overalls with shit written all over them (in maroon lettering), most of it stuff about the Cowboys. My friend I went with is a big Texans fan and a UT grad, but that image is seared into my brain and will always define Texan fan for me.
  16. Texags is all over the "but Hillary did it too" angle.
  17. The exact same thing happens with t-shirt UT fans at Tech home games.
  18. Lol @ 4. College football message boards tend to be prone to groupthink, but RP is particularly bad about that.
