  1. Through three quarters almost the entirety of Texas run plays were predicated on offensive linemen trying to get to a spot to block someone instead of just blocking what's in front of them. There were a few individual breakdowns here and there, but Texas' plan played to ASU's strengths instead of trying to exploit the physical advantages.
  2. I don't necessarily think Sark needs to give up play calling duties, but he does need to bring in someone as an analyst who will get in his ear and challenge him during games (so basically he needs someone on offense to do what Gary Patterson did on defense a few years ago). Sark can design plays better than anyone in college football, but that doesn't matter when you are unwilling to adjust when things aren't working. The trouble running the ball yesterday was almost entirely schematic. Texas was running its standard outside zone scheme, but Arizona State was well-coached and ready for it AND it played to their strengths. ASU was slanting against the run and the Texas offensive line was just simply unable to get to their blocks. They needed to simply things and run more inside run and power plays to get the run game going. And that's just one example. It seems like Sark will stick with stuff that doesn't work for far too long to his detriment. It takes him a LONG time to adjust to things during games and they need to be more flexible.
  3. Doing a quick & dirty skycam rewatch and agree with a lot of the sentiment here. This team needs to be able to just lineup and move smaller defensive lines off the ball and instead the scheme played right into ASU's strengths. Line didn't run block well, but I think the scheme was the big problem in the run game. There were just so many plays where the Texas OL couldn't get to their blocks because of ASU's athleticism.
  4. Absolute fuckin' aliens playing American football
  5. Tom Herman should be tried for war crimes for neglecting the offensive line the way he did when he had BIJAN FUCKING ROBINSON on the roster.
  6. No SkyCam feed and I don't have access to the All-22 so a rewatch isn't going to be likely, but the day after I feel ok about yesterday. It is really annoying how we always have to make things more dramatic than they need to be. The pass defense had a bad day yesterday. Clemson clearly saw something on film with our Linebackers they wanted to exploit, but at the same time a large chunk of their success passing was Klubnik dropping dimes on low-percentage routes. Kudos to him. He was great. But if teams are going to rely on that to really have success against us Ohio State is the only team I'm worried about in that regard. As for the offense, it was a good day. Sark has a fatal flaw in that he will overthink things and it was almost costly (don't mind going for it on the 4th down but just run behind Banks don't run a toss and I said it in my Georgia recap that the gimmicky, full spin, screen play shit needs to go) but other than that he kept it largely simple, knew Clemson couldn't stop the run game and leaned on it even when guys got hurt. I ain't worried about skatty boo boo and the Sun Devils. We're gonna wreck their lives up front on both sides of the ball.
  7. Sark doing everything he can to get people to stop asking him about playing Arch more.
  8. Given the fumble problems both guys have had this year I'm so happy both Blue and Gibson had big moments today when called upon.
  9. Majors walking around ok on the sideline, hopefully they're just being cautious.
  10. As long as Sark keeps it simple these dudes ain't go no shot against us.
