  1. Not really. Golden was so wide open he just made an easy throw.
  2. One thing I noticed re-watching the Georgia-Florida game was the Florida's LBs are VERY succeptable to misdirection. They aren't very disciplined. Sark had them in hell on that Bond run.
  3. The middle of the field is going to be wide ass open. It's the basic element of the Florida defense and Sark still won't use it
  4. This is not a complicated stunt. DJ Campbell is so bad.
  5. Florida's defense was a complete dumpster fire early in the season so they started playing a two-deep zone to at least bleed to death slowly on defense. Ewers is going to have to be good in the mid range stuff on Saturday which is an area where he's struggled a lot since coming back from injury. Florida is going to give you the middle of the field. Sark needs to scheme for it and Ewers needs to take advantage of it.
  6. Ewers was really good on 5-15 yard throws last year and he has been exceptionally bad in that area since coming back from his injury. Screens and horizontal throws are always going to be a part of Sark's offense, but it does require verticality in the passing game for those plays to work and I agree with your assessment as to the perimeter plays not being as successful. Ewers has to sack up and start playing better or else teams are going to continue to scheme to take away the perimeter plays.
  7. Riley doesn't want to coach college football anymore. There was an article a while back about how he his mentor who got him into coaching and Mike Leach, who gave him his first coaching job, dying around the same time really put him into a bad mental state and he was tired of all the stuff that comes with coaching college football and how it causes him to miss out on time with his family and friends. He wants to coach in the NFL because it's much less of a grind and a time commitment outside of actually coaching ball. He fucked up his chance of getting an NFL job last year with how bad USC was so now he's just kind of in a void. Couple that with the fact that he also sucks at program building and you have a complete mess. Which is great because fuck Lincoln Riley.
  8. Everyone who has watched Ewers knows he's not accurate on deep balls and when he's playing well he thrives on the intermediate throws. He's been down right awful on throws between 5-15 yards since coming back from injury. I was playing around with some data and on those throws last year he had an EPA per play of 0.463 and he's at -0.01 since coming back. His on target percentage has dropped from 71 to 60 and his catchable pass percentage has dropped from 84.2 to 68 percent while his bust percentage on those throws has gone from 5 percent to 23 percent. The offense has to find some verticality if they're to be able to move the ball down the stretch.
  9. Texas gave up 14 points on short fields after turnovers and 10 points on end of half/game situations so the only real complaint is that Pete K just doesn't understand that rushing 3 and dropping everyone else deep at the end of the half or game is a shit plan that leads to points. One of the stat gurus, Parker Fleming (@statsowar on Twitter) has a quality possession measure that goes beyond redzone. His definition of quality possession is reaching at least the opposing 40 or scoring a long touchdown. He hasn't updated his numbers yet this week, but entering the Vandy game Texas was 2nd in quality possessions allowed and 2nd in points per quality possession. I still think the best offenses Texas is going to face are on the back end of the schedule, but thus far it has been extremely hard to drive the ball and turn long drives into points against the Texas defense. That side of the ball has been solid.
  10. yeah all 22 film is the camera angles where you can see all 22 players on the field. You can see all the routes the receivers are running and the endzone all 22 angles makes it easier to see line play (I have a harder time parsing line play from the game angle). NFL All-22 film is available with an NFL+ subscription and is great, but college football All 22 film is treated like it's classified intelligence. It's pretty annoying.
  11. gonna throw a hail mary here again: does anyone have access to All 22 film from Texas games?
  12. It dawned on me today that the coaches responsible for our major issues right now, Quarterback development, game plan/play calling, offensive line and special teams, are all coaches that came from Alabama.
  13. I know it's not available til Sunday or Monday but does anyone have a connection for all 22 film?
  14. Arch isn't ready to lead this team to the playoff so it's kind of moot I guess, but it's pretty frustrating that your third year starting quarterback is both slow and afraid of contact.
  15. during this break, has there been any reason given why Gibson doesn't get any carries? I know he's RB3 but his running style is very useful.
  16. This team is softer than baby shit. Soft head coach. Soft assistants. Soft quarterback. Soft leaders.
  17. Our offensive line is soft and undisciplined.
  18. Texas needs to look at the Ray Guy Award finalists, find out who has the most eligibility left and give them a blank check to come punt in Austin next year.
  19. STOP RUNNING THE BALL ON SECOND AND LONG GODDAMIT SARK YOU DICKHEAD.
  20. so which one of our games does Bolden cost us because he makes a stupid decision on a punt return?
  21. so does Choice. Blue had no idea who he was supposed to block there.
  22. Kyle Flood needs to start earning his goddamn paycheck.
  23. Vandy is 78th in EPA per dropback defense and 99th in pass defense success rate. One of their starting corners got banged up in practice this week and is going to play but isn't 100 percent. Even without Bond, Ewers HAS to cook these dudes today. I think it's a good time for a Ryan Wingo breakout game.
  24. I just hope for once Texas plays pissed off. If they don't take Vandy seriously it's going to be a long afternoon so I hope this team finally develops a chip on their shoulder.
  25. I'm just completely befuddled that Sark has done a good job building a roster and a culture (compared to where it was) and yet his offensive gameplans tend to suck way too often in big games. I thought it would be the other way around.
