  1. Acuna's first 162 games were pretty, pretty...pretty good. https://www.mlb.com/news/ronald-acuna-jr-has-great-first-162-games
  2. If this is the Folty we're gonna get going forward this team is going to be good. Him getting close to his form from last year is a game changer for this team. Hopefully he can keep building on it.
  3. Atlanta United sucks. De Boer sucks. So glad they won last year because I'm not even really mad about it, just annoyed.
  4. He got the assist on the goal.
  5. The tournament is forgivable because third place teams make the knockout stage, but the US better hope Qatar was just really bad because a loss to Nigeria on Monday and it's probably curtains. The US controlled the run of play most of the game but didn't create a lot of chances in the box and had two crucial defensive fuck ups.
  6. Freeman and Acuna were a combined 0-11 today and the Braves won because of Austin Riley.
  7. Austin Riley is good.
  8. I'm sure I'll watch some of it. Kenny Omega, Pentagon and Fenix are probably my three favorite guys in wrestling right now so I'm certainly invested in them. I have my concerns about the viability of any new wrestling promotion trying to compete with WWE. For one, I don't know that there's a secret, massive wrestling audience out there that wants to consume wrestling but not WWE. I think that bubble burst at the end of the Monday Night Wars and WWE's product has driven so many people away I don't think they're coming back to wrestling. The other problem is main stream stars. There is a ton of talent, but the biggest STAR AEW has is 48 year old Chris Jericho. Hopefully people tune in and realize how great the roster is, but I have my doubts. WWE needs legit competition badly, I hope it works out but I'm skeptical.
  9. Acuna is good. Riley is good. Mike Soroka is good. Also, I'm getting this stuck in everyone's head because it's been stuck in mine for two days.
  10. Here was my view of Drew McIntyre murdering Ricochet last night. https://streamable.com/l5xgu I was probably going to take a hiatus from watching after last night anyway and the end just confirmed they don't give a shit about their fans. The fact that the product is mostly unwatchable week to week, Vince continues to do business with a murderous dictatorship and the fact that Vince is incredibly mean spirited and callous towards talent who he doesn't use and want to go elsewhere I'm just tired of it. I've always had a fascination with the business even if the on air product was up and down but it all sucks right now.
  11. There are a lot of gaps to fill in here, but Tyrion making a power play the last half of the episode to become the de facto most powerful man in Westeros because Bran is mostly useless at least would've been something. It would at least explain how Bronn, an objectively bad person, could end up as the Master of Coin. The imp who was looked at as a monster by his father and sister becoming the most powerful man in the Seven Kingdoms could've been a satisfying arc if done right.
  12. I googled this, I'm not a bookfag, in the books Littlefinger has gray-green eyes, but Aiden Gillen has blue eyes so who the hell knows.
  13. This was something that I thought was weird too. They almost get completely wiped out by the army of the dead only to have some survive and help Dany destroy Westeros but when she's dead they're just like, "welp, see ya, byeeee!" Just more lazy writing.
  14. Jesus Christ dude, maybe not a literal representative of the Citadel, but he's studied to become a Maester and he was Jon's closest friend. It's really easy to see why the Starks would want him around to help decide the future of the Seven Kingdoms.
  15. I imagine they were there as advisors to the leaders of the seven kingdoms. Sam was represent the order of maesters who had provided council to the lords of the Seven Kingdoms in the past.
  16. They're the leaders of the houses of the seven kingdoms and they're trying to figure out what's next. What was glaring to me is that when they panned around it was like holy shit all of these people except for Sansa, Arya and Yara are useless. Arya has no place in Westeros, that's what her arc has been about. Yara really wants to just fight, drink and munch clam. Sansa was the only left who was a reasonable choice to be ruler of the seven kingdoms. I thought it was jarring, but not for the reasons you did.
  17. The least realistic element of the finale was that after Jaime played with her emotions, hit it and then quit it, Brienne wouldn't trash him in the Kingsguard log. There were clearly no women in that writer's room.
  18. Sean Newcomb has now made 6 appearances as a reliever and not allowed a walk. If he can re-invent himself as a relief pitcher that would be huge for this team.
  19. So I couldn't get over one thing in the movie. It's completely inconsequential but I'm spoilering anyway
  20. It's funny you mentioned it because I tweeted last night if Touki had hit that ball out it would've been the funniest Braves homer since Belliard. My older brother LOVED Raffy and was away at college when he hit so I excited called and left him a voice mail because he wasn't home and missed it.
  21. The Cardinals manager put Jordan Hicks in down 10-2 in the 8th inning to pitch to Touki Toussaint. Touki hit the ball to the warning track. If it had gone out that would've been my favorite home run of all time.
  22. Riley is 2-2 so far tonight with a double that was 2 inches away from being a homer and an RBI single.
  23. Atlanta United took five points in its first six matches but now are third in the East after an MLS record 5th straight clean sheet win. This season has been so weird already. I was at the Orlando game Sunday it was nice to finally see them win at the Benz in person.
  24. Gattis and Heyward were the last two to homer in their debuts.
