  1. Sepinwall had a quote from one of the creators who said in real life the government didn't provide financial support to cover the agents. The agents were expected to run their businesses on their own.
  2. Five hours later I'm still hot at how royally the umpires fucked us tonight.
  3. Hamburg fans took their club's first ever relegation well
  4. Jinder Mahal was among the most reviled heels WWE ever had last year. Last night the crowd CHEERED when he kept Roman Reigns from winning a spot in the MITB match. Vince's obsession with getting Reigns over has gone from annoying to hilariously sad.
  5. Let's say Machado would definitely re-sign, if they have to give up 2 of Gohara, Soroka, Wright and Anderson I'd probably lean no. If they can do it with one of them, Wentz and Riley I'm probably a yes. If they could somehow do it with Wentz, Allard and Riley I'm all in. Seems like the first four I mentioned have separated themselves from the rest of the pitching prospects. I don't know that Newcomb will ever get his walk rate down to be more than a number three guy at best and keeping three of the four of the group at the top gives you some wiggle room if one doesn't cut at the big league level. I tend to be in favor of holding on to prospects though. Pitching prospects are such a crap shoot.
  6. I really liked Infinity War but I'm with you on your spoiler and one of the things that worries me about the next one is
  7. Two of three from Philadelphia and kinda pissed away the series opener because of bad pitching. Albies finished a hair short of being the 4th player since 1990 to have a 1.000 OPS in April in his age 21 season with Griffey, Pujols and Harper. Acuna has reached base safely in 10 of his 22 plate appearances so far. The Braves set a franchise record for runs in April on an RBI double by relief pitcher Jesse Biddle in his first career at bat in his hometown of Philadelphia with his family watching in the stands. I liked the move to hit Albies and Acuna 1-2 and move Ender to 9th. Aside from the Cubs debacle I don't think this month could've gone much better. I really enjoy what this team has done so far.
  8. End of the IC title match was cool and the Rumble was fun, but I'm a sucker for a good battle royal, and otherwise the Greatest Royal Rumble was a huge waste of five hours.
  9. I'm almost 100 percent certain this was from 2009 so you're probably right.
  10. I don't know what you've seen over the past couple of seasons to think "happily ever after" is in the cards for anyone, let alone Phillip.
  11. Because of The Greatest Royal Rumble WWE has pretty much been spinning its wheels going nowhere for three weeks, but I really think the Nakamura heel turn has been done really well. He's way more interesting in the last three weeks than he was in the entirety of his NXT/WWE run the last two years as a face. I thought Anderson running in and taking the Kinshasa for AJ made him a human being instead of just a character. There was an element of realism to it to make it seem like AJ is actually his friend. Wrestling is always at its best when reality and fantasy blend. The Club finally has some depth to them which I like.
  12. I've seen the original too many times to count. I contributed to the GoFundMe or whatever it was to get it made. It was funny enough to make me glad they made it. If you go into it with any higher expectations I imagine you'll be disappointed, but it was funny enough for me.
  13. I watched one episode because my best friend's wife is in it and it was fine. The kind of show you can put on if you're bored and there's nothing else on.
  14. Rousey's debut has been near universally praised by marks, smarks and people who cover and write about pro wrestling for a living. You're really swimming against the current here.
  15. Dear Los Angeles, You're welcome.
  16. You completely missed the point of the final scene and episode.
  17. Stoger is the manager because they made a bone-headed hire in Bosz who they fired three months into the season. Stoger is there to keep them afloat this year which means keep them in the Champions League next year which he'll probably be able to do. They drew APOEL twice in the Champions League. They were thoroughly outclassed by RB Salzburg in the Europa League. They've become mediocre over the span of a year for a variety of reasons. They didn't belong on the field with Bayern and that was before Bayern shoved it up their poopers today.
  18. Breaks tend to even out over the course of the season for most teams. Stinker got lucky with Markakis on opening day. Last night they somehow survived the 10th inning with Bourjous, Shane Carle, Flaherty and Culberson batting without making three outs to get to Inciarte who can actually hit, but he flew out weakly to center to end the game. It's crazy how stuff like that works out.
  19. Elizabeth doesn't really have a purpose (speaking in terms of her being a real person not a TV character) if there's no cause to fight for. Knowing how this ends historically I don't see her surviving to the end. I could see a scenario in which she dies and Phillip ends up back in Russia because that would seem to be a worse fate for him now than death since he's happy in America right now.
  20. Nick Markakis hit 8 home runs and slugged .384. Brian Stinker hits him clean-up. He hits a walk-off home run. It's the very definition of better to be lucky than good. Doesn't matter. 162-0 here we come! (also, thank Gabe Kapler for pulling Nola after 68 pitches for no reason)
  21. Newcomb's WHIP and walks per nine inning rate has gone up every step up the ladder he's gone in his career. I'm not holding my breath that suddenly he becomes someone who throws strikes consistently.
  22. Dreamland sucks. If we're going to give Bama the opportunity to play in front of Texas recruits then we should get two home games to one road game in T-Town.
  23. There will possibly be a small number of votes for Morocco because of Trump, but if Morocco gets it it will be because of FIFA's corruption.
