  1. My guess is there are a LOT of very, very long term marriages that "succeed" like yours in that we tolerate the differences even if it's annoying and recognize the positives and celebrate them
  2. All put together. I bought the flooring this week and I'll get started on it next week lightly. Only thing left really on the cabinet side is painting the gold on the mirror to match the rest of the room. Flooring is going to be black/gray slate. Eventually the other side will be redone when I get a little more comfortable with the plan and be all black hardware. Kind of hard with the space in the room to get a good picture with good lighting. But this shows it well, just skews the proportions a bit. It's 9 feet long with an 8 foot ceiling

I've kept up with this thread over time and don't remember it being talked about. But has anyone else gone the medical route here in Texas? It was pretty easy and reasonable with the requirements for PTSD/Anxiety.
  4. Damn, Blummer wants Brantley to come home and meet his mom lol
  5. My ex wife? Yes. Her? Nah. I think it agitates her I don't let her do it. She's an awful liar, completely transparent big or small. It's kind of hilarious
  6. When I got married I told my wife that I was very particular about my clothes. Where they go, how they get folded, etc. That I don't mind her doing laundry, but you can't get upset with me if I change something or say something. If you are, just don't do it and we're cool. That took like 3 times to fix. Now my wife isn't allowed to do my laundry. Housekeeper or I do it. Housekeeper does it "wrong" to, so I redo it. But I don't get nasty looks as I redo it like I do from my wife.
  7. I really think Ohtani will be the end of the 10 year deal. I think 5-7 is going to be the norm again sooner than later. The rest of the market suffered, Shohei got his because he is one of one. And even the Dodgers will regret that deal in time. Maybe sooner than later with the betting stuff. Maybe guys like Acuna or Rutschman or the like get them to buy out arbitration years, I could see that. But not the other guys. Guess we'll see.
  8. In other news I got a Festool TS 75 Track Saw on Marketplace this weekend from a guy that either stole it (really don't think so) or inherited it (what it seemed like) for $400. That was a pretty great deal with a track and a broken systainer.
  9. Are you trying to tell me that you didn't build every square inch of your house too? Damn, what is this world coming to haha Looks great though. Finishing is an art in and of itself. My least favorite part of any project. That's what I'm trying the rubio monocoat, hoping it's as easy as they say
  10. I'm still of the belief that Bregman will sign a lower offer hear over a Correa Minnesota style offer. If Bregman is leaving it's to maybe 6-8 teams.
  11. Ahhh the old "if I buy it now it will be cheaper than buying it separate later. And we know I'm going to buy it later if I don't buy it now" haha
  12. Both are on my list. Track saw would get used much more I think for me. But when the domino is needed there isn't an easy substitute. I personally think dowels are a pain in the ass and biscuits are pretty worthless except for line up I don't do a lot of table tops, so track saw would be 1 then domino 2. I'd buy used either way.
  13. Yep, and they are there to get paid. They'll call things that have worked fine bad because it doesn't meet today's code. Doesn't mean it doesn't work just fine the way it's installed, it's just not the best option given today's choices.
  14. There is no way you should have a hole in your breaker box not called out as a huge red flag by the inspector, that's crazy. Backstabbing is fine, that's electrician silliness there. But the wrong gauge wire on the other hand lol, that's how houses burn down.
  15. I need to know if there are more or how long the damn cord is NOW!
  16. I started to go that route of reusing and rebuilding, but even in a decent house they had just taken too much abuse over the years. So we started completely over. Cutting these checks is painful
  17. My wife has used our tub, but even she realizes there are 2 others in the house if she really wants to use one. I even told her we could upgrade one of them in one of the bathrooms once our oldest goes to college in the fall if she's dead set on a tub for soaking. Dual head showers are God's gifts to suburban life and I will not tolerate not having one any longer than I have to!
  18. strong to quite strong sir haha
  19. I'm also a huge believer in if I'm going to do something, do it as soon as feasibly possible because that's one more day of enjoyment to spread that cost over.
  20. I've talked to high end remodelers and mid range, and a number of realtors about it. It makes zero difference. Most people prefer the updated bathroom, and most tubs go completely unused. Especially in houses with 2+ other bathrooms with tubs. But very few people will look at a nice shower and go "I have to have a tub, I'm out". Though that number isn't zero.
  21. apostrophe's ar'e free' In all seriousness, correcting grammar, especially an apostrophe from someone typing 100+ words a minute, on a message board takes a special type of grammar nazi. Enjoy I guess?
  22. My grandma kicked all kinds of ass before she passed. Spoke 7 languages, was 4'8 and made fun of her height constantly, she was hilarious, was Russian but born in china, her dad was a Russian spy before leaving in the revolution to China. She was a freaking riot, could tell a great story and had tons of them. Even then I'm not sure I'd drive 4 hours both ways for a lunch at Denny's unless I knew it was the last time...
  23. Was going to say the same. This and Curb ball. Stand on one curb with your buddy on the other. Hit the curb and get the bounce back was 1 point, hit it where the street and curb both hit at the same time at it was 2. Being poor had it's moments lol
