  1. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/39492323/former-mets-gm-billy-eppler-suspended-fabricating-injuries Not sure if posted elsewhere, but this is kind of crazy. Mostly because I think every single GM does this. Kind of like sign stealing and roids, but even more prevalent ;-) ...
  2. That A's hat is bad ass
  3. And that is where us Astros and Rangers fans can go kick some ass together
  4. I said pretty and kind, didn't say hot. And as the old saying goes: It doesn't matter how hot she is...
  5. I was surprised there wasn't a mutual option for his 40 year old year. I assume he'll need to play that year to get to 3000 because of the COVID year
  6. Yeah, I have no idea if the manager was racist or not. There were other black players on the team that didn't agree. Joe was rumored to always be a pain in the ass, and that's what the manager said was the reasoning. I mean it was 1971, a racist old white man isn't really a big stretch (his nickname was Little Dixie for goodness sake). But neither is Joe was a pain in the ass and didn't want to be held accountable. But just accepting either as fact seems a bit unnecessary. From everything I've seen, seems like Walker was just a prick more than a racist, but again, late 60s/early 70s, racist was in a lot of people's DNA even subconsciously
  7. When I was in college I had been dating my girlfriend from HS for almost 5 years. She was pretty and kind and could do book smart for class, but she had no common sense or general knowledge she sought. The lack of common sense got to be pretty grating and I was on the verge of ending it. Had a roomate come home after working for Boeing for a semester internship. Her: "Where have you been?" Him: "St. Louis for the semester for an internship" Her: "St. Louis, Chicago?" Him: "No" Me: "We have to talk" That was the final straw. Seems petty but it was a long time building. She's still a sweet person and I hope she's doing well out there with someone else dealing with that shit
  8. Bet you only did that twice
  9. Doors are built. Hinges are on most of them and they are all sanded up and ready to be painted now. My to do list is ridiculous to get this all done in a timely manner.
  10. You knoowwww where we haven't gone in a while???
  11. But what was your point this time? That Dad's don't know what it's like to watch kids for long hours? I've spent easily 20X the time with my kids that my ex wife has.
  12. Pearland
  13. I have a ton of 40 I need to post somewhere. It's all FMJ and in ammo cans I moved them to when I moved last time to make it easier. Sold my 40s and standardized on 9. Anyone know a good place? Here?
  14. My wife calls to me from other rooms and I intentionally ignore her until she comes in the room I'm in. She knows I'm ignoring her because I've told her I can't hear for shit so I only know she's making noise at me. I used to try and listen, yell to her I can't hear her, she'd try 3 more times, and then I'd have to go where she is. This works so much better. The worst one is her knowing where I am, knowing I'm in the middle of shit, and calling me so that I have to stop what I'm doing, take off ear protection if in the garage, take off gloves if needed, and answer a call. Instead of just walking where I am like I do for her. That annoys the ever living shit out of me
  15. While my kitchen is getting redone I'm building a new vanity for the master bath. I'm going to have extra quartz from the kitchen so they are going to install the remnants for me in the bathroom. Which means I have 2 ish weeks to have this built and installed so they can put the counter on and install the sinks for me. One of these days I'm going to figure out sketchup, but not there yet. Paper and pad works fine
  16. All done with the fireplace and I squared off the area to the right. Need to paint that cabinet the correct color (Same as the fireplace and trim work of the house) and the walls from the drywall work. Looks much better, but still not quite perfect. After I do the paint work I'll see if that fixes it or not. The doors are being built for me. I'm having the whole kitchen redone and I'm not up for the amount of work that would require to do it. So the guy doing the custom cabinets is going to make two doors so they exactly match with the kitchen ones for me. It's the half zoom so makes everything look smaller than it is. Also gives an illusion that the right side is bowed up, but it's not. It's an 85" frame tv for reference
  17. I have a Jet that's the same idea as the HF above. With drainage tubes and joints to some hose to all my big tools. For big chips you want the extra air volume of the dust collector. For the miter saw and sanders I have a Dust extractor that does better with very fine dust. I have almost zero dust when sanding with my festool and Cubitron sand paper. Because of the dust extractor that sand paper lasts forever too
  18. 2/18 with an out if he implodes in an incredible deal for Neris. Love that guy and his fire. He's worth every penny of that
  19. I want that Festool track saw bad. But Milwaukee's is supposed to be very good, dewalt is supposed to be solid. For a short fix and like $100 the Kreg jig that hooks up to any circular saw works decently well
  20. 1 guy runs into the glass if funny enough, not sure the Browns part 2. Lenore was Bill's lady on King of the Hill. Kelce I guess kind of looks like him. I thought it was reasonably funny 3. Do you even Star Wars bro?
  21. That's a joke right?
  22. That's the only real hole I see on the team. Yes you can always upgrade spots if you have infinite money and prospects. But a hitter on the bench that can play adequate OF/1B would be nice. Just don't really think that guy is out there outside of maybe Soler? I don't know if he's ever taken a ball at first in his life though. He turned down the 13mm option he had, which seems crazy to me for him. So he's either looking for just a longer term deal or way more money. I don't think the Astros would be interested in either I also have no idea why Joc is a 12.5 mm player either.
  23. I have no basis in fact here, but for some reason I think Pena is a hard enough worker and coachable enough that he's going to be decent this season. Not 2022 ALCS/WS great, but a solid, borderline All Star. Maybe it's just hope, but just a feeling I have.
