  1. Kind of like Jamaal Charles was a "pretty good" RB.
  2. FYI, for as you're catching up, I highly recommend pausing after each ep and spending some time on Lostpedia (maybe check our Sepinwall's reviews, too). It won't give you the full experience that Bobby Light mentioned, but you can capture part of it.
  3. That was my contribution to this thread on the old board and I don't remember seeing any response so glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks so. Agree with whoever said the original wasn't very good. I didn't hate it, but Dr. Dog's kills that version.
  4. Did you mean season 4 or are you just making a joke about how you hated season 3?
  5. I started to do a re-watch but it's tough because there are just too many episodes, and too many especially that are half-filler. I ended up fast forwarding through most of the flashbacks. Instead I just periodically re-watch some of my favorite eps, which isn't something I'd do on, say, The Wire. ETA: I didn't start watching it week-to-week until S4, and I really didn't find myself fully invested until the stretch run of S1 when I was binging. Needless to say I cruised through S2 and S3, at least as much as I could during the days of Netflix disc delivery. It was always a couple of loooong days waiting for that next disc.
  6. For bands I haven't yet seen on this thread... Green Day. I liked their stuff a lot in HS through shortly out of college. I can't even listen to a lot that anymore because I dislike them so much now. I would have said Weezer before they put out Everything Will Be Alright in the End.
  7. Or maybe they can kick off Roseanne, bring in Sandy Duncan, and they just change it to The Connor Family.
  8. Not that I know of. Malarkey just died last fall.
  9. Not familiar with the first two. Stafford is a Belton guy (you did say "sort of," I know).
  10. I cannot remember a Temple guy going to Texas before Curtis, and I'm 41. I think you may have to go back to Bobby Dillon in the 40s.
  11. If you want to win, put a Temple Wildcat in.
  12. T22 is my favorite chicken place in Austin and it's not close. The BBQ Beans are audio great. I really want to like JT Youngbloods since it's a 5-minute walk but it's been hit or miss.
  13. I would do this but I keep going for the Pappardelle w/ Wild Boar Bolognese. The wife has done both the Capelletti and the Gnocchi. The bread is a definite must, and the meat/cheese trays look incredible. The only thing I haven't cared for much were the meatballs because I'm not wild about the abundance of polenta they use. I would say it's probably our favorite restaurant in Austin right now.
  14. FWIW I had never heard of GotG before the movie. I did not like the first one much, but I liked 2.
  15. I don't think it was a throwaway but I'm not sure there was much more to it than an illustration that all of the work they've done has raised suspicions.
  16. A&M Tech TCU Baylor TCU Cotton Bowl Rose Bowl Nebraska Arkansas Colorado Superdome (Tulane) Ole Miss
  17. He doesn't actually say that line in 2001, though, right? They play the recording in 2010 (and I have read that it's in the book).
  18. Seen'em quite a few times... they put on a good show. I like the new album a lot; in fact I might go as far as to say that it may be their best since Shame Shame. I had become disillusioned with them after a stretch of underwhelming albums, so glad I found myself enjoying the laid back vibes on this one. I've also gone through the Okervil River album a few times. That guy's voice irritates me but I dug more of it than I didn't.
  19. I'm all about dri-fit khakis these days because it's hot af in Texas. Nordstrom Rack had these Callaway dri-fits a few weeks ago for $25 on their website. Since I already had a pair and knew they fit I bought three more.
  20. Yeah, maybe my favorite message board post ever.
  21. Haven't read that one but would like to see Survivor.
