@Pato del Muerto They are a nice sized dog at around 40-50 lbs. Have you ever had a cocker spaniel because there is some similarity. Only cockers are smaller with longer coats. They can be prone to ear infections also but that can be easily prevented with an ear wash you can get at the vet. Most Spaniel breeds are prey motivated, meaning they are great at playing fetch. But they are great chillaxers too, provided that you give them enough exercise. Bad behaviors will arise from the lack of it, that may include furniture chewing or barking a lot.
The thing that most spaniels will tend to do is follow you around, they don't like being away from humans for long. That makes them great family dogs, because they don't fixate on one person, like Chihuauas. They pretty much just want to be in the same room where they can see you. Some might find that clingy, so keep that in mind.
Springers have a double coat, so there is shedding, but nothing that vacuuming can't handle. Also, the damn stickers that get on my girl's ears and legs are a pain to brush out. I use a cat brush to brush the little burrs out but a lot of the time, I have to cut them out with scissors. The bigger stickers brush out easily. I brush her out quite often but probably not as much as I should. I have her groomed in a Cocker Cut, where the back is close cut and she wears a skirt. I think Springers have shorter fur so there is probably no need to shave them this way.
I think their temperaments are good and Springers are bigger and more athletic than Cockers. So probably better behaved if you make sure to give them proper exercise. They are a very pretty breed for sure.
