  1. You would think it’s obvious, but people around here whining about the firing clearly don’t understand how it works. I’d also bet that PK and Sark were in discussions about this, and it wasn’t a blindside “firing”. 100% agree about the other statement. He should have just stopped after philosophical differences. Reasons for firing are great, excuses for firing are cringeworthy. The latter was Sark acting like a Blue Falcon OC, and not the HC of the program. Ultimately if he fails, that will be why…lack of separation of conflicting duties.
  2. There really shouldn’t be the need for conspiracy theories on this, Sark was very transparent in his press conference today. He said this was a move he has been thinking about for a couple of years, but he couldn’t make it when the team was making the playoffs. He said he did not think they played aggressive enough and the style wasn’t a match. He said that the timing isn’t great but is predicated on the timing demands of the entire system in today’s landscape of college football. He also talked about the time he was spending overseeing the defense, and how that was taking away from his focus on the offense, specifically in game. Honestly, in my lifetime I’ve heard hundreds of coaching press conferences and I felt Sark was more open and honest in this one than most. Also, if anyone cares he called the NCAA gutless and called all of the different committees in all aspects of college sports worthless.
  3. False. In college athletics it’s actually the opposite. If you resign you forfeit your contact and all benefits. If you’re fired, w/o, cause, your contract is paid out and benefits stay intact. And in college sports getting fired really means nothing as long as your name isn’t associated with any king of scandal.
  4. They seed 1-32. 33-64 aren’t seeded, but rather pooled geographically, and the 400-mile travel radius comes into play when selecting where they’ll go. After that it becomes a filler with easiest travel.
  5. Actually you didn’t. You might want to check and see who was responsible for recruiting Mateer to Wazzu. Who talked Tech into taking Baker as a walk-on and begged him to stay, who only saw Cam Ward run the Wing-T offense as a QB but took him on athleticism and a warm-up throw at halftime, and who got Chandler Morris paid $3 mil + at UVA. You didn’t fix anything, but it was nice attempt at downplaying the career of someone who can obviously evaluate and recruit talent, and develop them when he has them.
  6. This!!! And it’s not just this years QB, who is an incredible story in itself. Pat Mahomes Baker Mayfield Cam Ward John Mateer Chandler Morris (who has UVA on the doorstep of the CFP)
  7. I hope he sees the blizzard they are supposed to be playing in and says “aww hell no, I’m out”
  8. Roberson just finds new ways to f*** this team every game.
  9. Sark too busy pumping up the crowd to focus on calling an offense that can score some points. We are so f***ed
  10. And furthermore, if the committee is evaluating $$$ considerations when choosing which G5 team gets the spot, that won’t favor UNT either. Again, the home game crowd today does them no favors in that regard either.
  11. 1. They don’t pay well. 2. Their NIL/Rev Share is at the bottom of the AAC. 3. Look at their stands today and tell me if that’s a crowd representative of a 10-1 team on the verge of an AAC Championship Game appearance and a possible playoff spot.
  12. What they should be more concerned about is who their AD will hire. His last three coaching hires have been two D2 coaches and a very low level D1 coach…all of who were complete unknowns. MBB and Softball have been competitive on a national level for several years, and those hires were completely unserious WTF’s. To be honest, at the time of the hire Morris was a barely known. I just don’t see this ending well for UNT and they are about to get send back to irrelevancy all across the athletic department.
  13. Agreed, however UNT fans want him out of town, like yesterday. They hate and despise him. It’s 50% sad and 50% comical how they are acting about Morris leaving. https://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/forum/4-mean-green-football/ One of the thread titles is “UNT has been damaged by Coach Morris”.
  14. He has rebuilt UNT every year he has been there. Plus, his history with QB development would be something I would think AD’s would be highly interested in.
