  1. Watch that play in slo mo, if it ain't picked Sterns was about to decapitate the receiver.
  2. I want to add this - the UIL had to have overwhelming evidence to make this decision. They are far more lenient with Seniors because they don't want them missing their Senior year. The are harder on non-Seniors because they can serve the one year JV penalty and still contribute as a Senior. When you see them make a ruling against a Senior, especially 6-0, there was some really damning evidence. It's also not coincidental that an article was published today with quotes from HS coaches about 7-on-7 and Private Trainers and how bad they are for HS sports. Based on what I'm hearing and reading about this situation, aggy should stop worrying about bid bad UT running the UIL and starting hoping and praying that Demas' recruiting to aTm doesn't start drawing too much national attention.
  3. Go peruse TA...it's not only that they think they will win that game, but there are a handful of posters who are forecasting them beating Georgia TWICE this year.
  4. Don’t think we are getting that this time either from what I’ve heard
  5. It’s someone with a baseball background, but I don’t know the name.
  6. I figured that would be the case. She was in Houston this past weekend hanging around the Jr. National team coached by Heather Tarr.
  7. Herzog is either going to aTm or OK State. Alexis Mack is going to Alabama. And as of right now it looks like Washington is the leader in the clubhouse for Klingler (though I was told she's still fairly open)
  8. She’s leaving because she wants to win and play in the WCWS. She is also in the Team USA pool of players so she has to keep her game sharp and name relevant. None of the above is happening at aTm. From what I was told, here is her top 3 in order... Washington OU Texas
  9. I don't think he could've gotten HCIW without an AD being there. I know he more than doubled his salary, shockingly FSU doesn't pay jack and they didn't get much of a raise even after winning the series. Money and family are positives, but I just don't get it past that. He's turned down big jobs as a HC already, so I don't think this move is being made to build a resume. He's a smart guy, so there's some angle that we don't see. I guess maybe this gives him SEC experience for when a job opens? Miss. State is probably the next one open unless UGA retires or the new AD at aTm decided to clean house. Glasco was HCIW at one point, but then was stripped of the title which ultimately led to him leaving. His goal was to return to aTm once Evans left, but with Woodard gone I don't think that's a given anymore. I actually think he ends up back at UGA when their coaches retires.
  10. Yes. MW rarely went out...pretty much Colorado and PGF. He primarily showed face to babysit already committed kids. Spencer much the same, though she was out slightly more often, but again really just babysitting. Kolaitis was everywhere, knew everyone and talked to every person at every park. Shaw isn't that guy. In my opinion there are just a whole lot of factors working against them right now, they've got a lot to overcome. That's why it wouldn't surprise me if they are heavy players on the portal. MW will always draw pitchers, that's a given. But beyond that I just don't know. For the record, I also hope I'm proven wrong and I'll happily eat crow if I am.
  11. I don't think the miracle is happening...aggy has no pitching on campus and none coming in (as of now). It's quite possible that they could be worse next year than they were this year, which makes me wonder what Snider is thinking.
  12. It'll be interesting to see what transpires over the summer...who leaves, who transfers in, and who our coaches start targeting on the recruiting trail. I worry that we don't have a strong recruiter on this staff...great talent evaluators but not strong recruiters. And I think it will get monumentally tougher now because of the moves aTm is making with their coaching staff. The volunteer (responsible for hitting) has been fired, and one of the paid assistants is getting reassigned to Dir. of Ops. That spot is being filled by a big name...Texas ties, ace recruiter and a name that will draw a lot of attention to College Station. I wouldn't be shocked if we aren't more active on the transfer portal than in the club world, at least for this cycle.
  13. Our offense is putrid, and I'd argue that the Oregon players have regressed...though I can't imagine what this team would have looked like without them. Yeesh
  14. He looks like he just jacked off an elephant.
  15. Interesting question... I've been for the past 5 years (always on Thursdays) and in my opinion, yes, the new course is really tailored more towards the golf fan and less towards the socialite. Location: At the previous spot the course was surrounded by million dollar mansions and was located on the Four Seasons property. If you walked most of the back nine, each hole is lined with these mansions that get rented out to corporations and used for parties, etc. And a few holes on the front nine were played around the Four Seasons hotel, so many of the rooms and patios were being used as hosting events. The new location is the polar opposite...the neighborhood is rough, surrounded by trailer parks and low income housing, etc. The new course was also built on a landfill, so when it got nice and hot last year is smelled awful. Parking: Previously you could park close and walk to the gates. Now, parking is at the State Fair and it's a 20 minute bus ride without traffic. I also think that this year's player field is the worst they've had in some time. I can understand Thursday being down in attendance (the entire course was a ghost town) because of the weather and rain we had on Wednesday, but a lack of star power doesn't help either. If it weren't for Tony Romo, that place would have been deserted. He had by FAR the biggest crowd following him...about twice as large as Jordan Speith. And speaking of weather, the new course is all dirt paths and such for spectators (as opposed to paved at the previous) so Thursday was just a muddy mess. I think long term the tournament either moves back to Las Colinas, or up to Frisco when the new PGA Headquarters opens. While Crenshaw and crew did a nice job creating the course, it's an awful location and not accommodating at all. I know that Corporate Sponsorships and donations were WAY down this year, and that combined with the less than stellar playing field will make the Byron Nelson people have to re-evaluate things sooner rather than later. Hell, look at The Colonial player field vs. the Byron Nelson's...not even close.
  16. Baseball and softball scholarship amounts shouldn't be equal based on 11.7 = 11.7, but should be equalled out based on necessary roster sizes. Softball carries 18-20. Baseball carries 35'ish. To me that's where the bigger discrepancy lies between the two and their scholarship equivalencies.
  17. ALCS: Red Sox vs. Astros NLCS: Phillies vs. Dodgers WS: Red Sox in 5 over the Phillies
  18. Completely agree, and I'll take it a step further and say that I also hate that they can do so without ever having talking to the Head Coach or anyone on the coaching staff. They can also request to have all communication with the coaching staff blocked. I think this part sends the wrong message to these kids/athletes. Part of the decision process in transferring should be the athlete having the tough conversation with the coaching staff. For me, it's a growth and maturity things, as well as responsibility. You know, the things this next generation of kids is severely lacking, and this just further gives them a platform to tuck tail and run from adversity, as opposed to dealing with it head on and learning to handle the consequences either way.
  19. I've said this multiple times over the last month. Not bagging on the kid, but he has outgrown being a safety. His HS didn't even use him in that spot, even though that's what they called him. He plays downhill and loves to hit. For his sake, the sooner he comes to grip with the fact that he's a LB, the better. Hell, go to his Twitter and look at the tweet where he compares himself to Jamal Adams. The play that he posts where he's in coverage, he was beaten by at least 20 yards, the receiver just dropped the ball.
  20. She's not going anywhere, and in due time she will recruit really well at Oregon. Her ties to the west coach softball community are strong, and she will get kids from SoCal pretty quickly. As for the admin, all you have to do is read the article Oregon Live put out right before the Balint transfer, where the AD is interviewed. He basically gives his middle finger to Coach White (again) and backs the Lombardi hire fully, regardless of the transfers. Here's what will be interesting to watch, and I hesitate to post this, but it is being rumored that Oregon is strongly considering redshirting the entire team (all 11 of them) this year and forfeiting the entire season. I don't know if that's possible, but would be interesting.
  21. Neither of those players will end up at Texas. Balint is going to San Diego State (or not playing at all) and Alexis Mack will end up somewhere closer to her hometown.
