  1. This damn generation, I swear...
  2. At least he was smart enough to give it to Foreman...we still can't figure out when to give it to Keontay, or when to play him either really.
  3. Keontay Ingram should never come off the field again. And that right there should bury Kyle Porter, like, forever.
  4. We seriously cant even play smashmouth football against Tulsa from the 1 foot line? WTF
  5. Clemson's D-Line is really starting to work over the Aggy O-Line...Mond about to die
  6. Also, all this bullshit talk about Ellinger winning the job because he’s a winner and because he’s vocal and get the team motivated and blah, blah, blah...STFU already. He is a loser and a choke artist and will be tagged as so until he’s proves otherwise. Talk less and produce more.
  7. Shocker, Ellinger chokes again. Buechele must have really pissed someone off or fucked someone’s mother to not get any PT today. If that’s the case then move on to a Freshman and let’s go.
  8. Oregon isn't losing any current players to transferring...Lombardi was able to keep them all in Eugene. Mike White originally turned the Texas job down, it was Lombardi's. He later changed his mind, literally right before Texas was set to close the deal and announce Lombardi.
  9. I would tap the brakes on this a little until his staff proves they can recruit to Texas at the level they were to Oregon. Right now, the approach they are using is not working, at all, and they are further alienating the Texas travel ball community with their current approach. Not hiring a Jimmy Kolaitis was a problem, only exacerbated by not having anyone on staff with any connection to Texas. The ability to develop talent is undeniable...getting the talent is a huge question mark at this point.
  10. I don't know that legal problems are in his future...but he doesn't like to play school and he's clearly a social media dipshit.
  11. I don't know what Trejan Bridge's ranking is now, but it is justified. Kid had a huge summer on the circuit and is a straight baller. His ranking is justified and he'll be a 5* before it's over.
  12. Volunteer Asst. is coming from Oregon, was a former player and has been with the staff ever since. Not sure about D Ops. I don't know of any that declined the job, but I do know of one coach who declined to interview both at Oregon (while MW was still there) and at Texas. I don't have a problem with friends hiring friends in this business, because honestly that's kind of how it works. But in a situation like this one where the comfort hire was made over the smart one, that's a different story. As someone mentioned above, the level of talent of your players is more important than the hitting coach, and I agree. And I think that's where the shortcomings in this staff will be, getting talent. There is no denying that MW is the best in the business with pitchers, and Spencer is near the top if not at it when it comes to developing defensive players. But MW needed this hire to be an ace recruiter, and he didn't get that. Pretty simple.
  13. Janna and Jaden are walk-ons, given a spot by the previous staff.
  14. I'm less disappointed in what may/may not become of our offense, but more in that we don't have a recruiter. This hire really needed to be some who would be exceptional there, and I think we missed that mark by a lot.
  15. Or maybe you look outside of D1
  16. Here is what we are getting in a hitting coach, by the numbers: 2018 (18-19 record) Batting Average: .295 Homeruns: 29 Strikeouts: 166 Walks: 70 2017 (20-35 record) Batting Average: .268 Homeruns: 21 Strikeouts: 238 Walks: 99 2016 (17-33 record) Batting Average: .277 Homeruns: 41 Strikeouts: 255 Walks: 91 Additionally, none of the three coaches have any ties to Texas in any capacity (for recruiting purposes), and none of the three are strong recruiters. Kolaitis did 99% of the recruiting at Oregon.
  17. Prepare to be underwhelmed with the hire.
  18. And he's probably waiting to see if Oregon is going to match the Texas offer.
  19. I haven’t heard much on this process (which is odd), but I got a text this morning saying it may actually be Mike White. The media in Eugene seem to be prepping the masses for that being the case.
  20. She's not leaving OU
  21. I hadn't heard about his preference to work with hitters, and if that's so, then we really are getting Clark 2.0 Agree on Gasso...my sources (who are pretty good with Team USA) say that's exactly why you see her head coaching the B team this summer. Maybe with her taking over we'll get back to being serious with who makes the tryouts and who gets picked. Eriksen's personal vendettas with certain coaches and programs has kept several players off the list that are more than deserving.
  22. That would be an epically bad hire. Here's why: That would be two pitching coaches on staff. That would leave hitting and defense to one person, and that would be a tall order to fill. Ken Eriksen has not recruited in years. Because of his Team USA commitments he can't recruit, but even before that he didn't, he let his staff do it. I still contend that the head coach here needs to be an elite recruiter. Additionally, because of Team USA, he can only recruit from ASA sanctioned events, which means we would be cut off from pretty much all of the elite talent in the country. Let's be honest, if it weren't for Team USA, Ken Eriksen wouldn't be on anyone's list, much less a job of this magnitude. This hire would be made because of that title, and from what I'm hearing, he won't have that title after this summer anyway. I would be thoroughly disgusted with this hire, and frankly, it wouldn't be any better than keeping Clark would have been...with the exception of getting Cat back on the Forty Acres.
  23. If this is the case, it won't be Lawson, White, Deifel or Ford as they were all out recruiting for their current teams as of yesterday. If it were a done deal, as Bohls eludes to, it's not them. So if it's not them, and it's not Kolaitis, I'm really worried we are scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point. Oh, and Cat is out of town on vacation in Greece, so...
