  1. I also posted this in the Quinn Ewers thread in Recruiting... On 104.9, Trey Elling just said that he's hearing in recruiting circles that Herman has been saying some negative things about Ewers, and that stuff got back to the Ewers family and that's how all of this came about. Also said that Herman made no effort to rectify the comments or keep him committed. I'm officially on the "he knows his fate and he's burning the place down on his way out." It was a totally WTF moment.

  3. You must be reading impaired or too lazy to read the rest of that paragraph/post.
  4. I hope he takes a look at Samples too. I know his coaching resume is small, but the guy is putting some skins on the wall quickly. And it’s clear he has the keys to the Metroplex in terms of recruiting.
  5. I’m not terribly worried if Ewers and Co commit to tOSU. Herman is gone, Urban is on deck. And Urban will pull some of his staff from tOSU, those guys have loyalty to him. That gives us a chance to get them all back by signing day 2022. And you’re crazy if you don’t think an Urban hire changes the recruiting landscape drastically and immediately, even in the 21 class. Hell, Bowman is still out there uncommitted, playing the long game of wait and see. If we lose a close one in Stillwater, Herman is done on Sunday. If we get shellacked, he’s gone Saturday night. CDC is a smart man, make no mistake about that. He could not afford to be reactionary up until this point, because it’s sets a bad precedent for the future. But now he wouldn’t be reactionary...recruits and their families are sending a clear message, not just fans. When the team is officially eliminated from title game contention, this shitastic Herman era is over. Regarding staff...Urbs keeps Yurcich and Drayton on offense, Ash, Vilai and Hutzler on defense. He pulls the rest from tOSU, and hopefully leaves a spot to cherry-pick someone from the SMU staff since honestly they are locking down DFW right now. Urban can’t be announced right away, but Yurcich and Ash can sure as shit get on the phone Sunday afternoon and start locking recruits in with the future of the program under an Urban Meyer regime.
  6. Take me back there please.
  7. Maybe you're looking at this all wrong. Urbs is in, is working on his staff, and is having those guys start to form a relationship with the kids Texas wants. One can dream, can't they?
  8. Probably my favorite part was, when asked about Ossai's injury, he said "in lay man's terms" then proceeded to give the medical journal name. It may have actually been the most condescending answer to a question he's ever given.
  9. I think it would depend on how early it happens. If Urban is named at least by Thanksgiving, I think all bets are off with this being a "transition" class. Give Urban one month before ESD and I think our recruiting outlook would flip quickly. He is one of the few guys out there that has some serious name value that would resonate with recruits.
  10. And why the hell is Kai Money playing every down. WTF?
  11. I swear this is Tom giving everyone the middle finger. This asshole will literally do anything to prove he is the smartest asshole out there.
  12. Rod Babers mentioned earlier in the week that Tom coaches the Punt team and FG team, so Boulware isn’t responsible for those two.
  13. Can anyone post the Chip Brown article Bobby is talking about?
  14. Tom fucked up his wet dream.
  15. Tom, CDC wants to see you...bring your binder.
  16. Just so I'm clear, I didn't say anything about any social movement or The Eyes. I applaud his handling of the SJM issues, and standing with his team. But so did many other coaches across the country. I am indifferent on The Eyes, because frankly I see both sides of the argument. I stated earlier in this thread that Herman's handling of player personnel issues would be his downfall because of the damage it would do in the locker room. Allowing players to enter the portal and begging them to return, quit during a game and return, skip weeks of team events because they "didn't feel like being here", etc. are what I'm talking about. Frankly, Herman has no backbone, has no respect in that locker room, and then tops if off by acting like an asshole. All while throwing players and assistant coaches under the bus publicly.
  17. This one sucks. Look for Ryan to try and hang 100 on every Frisco school they play. The DEC met on Thursday night and voted to make the games a no-contest. Frisco rethought that move Thursday night and wanted a re-vote on Friday, changing their votes to forfeits.
  18. Do none of you have experience dealing with teenagers and young adults? Bending over and caving to their demands wasn't going to do anything but give them more power and respect Herman less. It's teaching and coaching 101...even though they can act like assholes about it, teenagers and young adults actually crave discipline and structure. They push, rebel and test boundaries, it's what they do. They respect the people who are clear and concise and stand firm. The key is not to be a complete dickhead about it. Herman has failed at all of the above, most importantly the not being a dick about it.
  19. That’s actually not true. There were meetings, discussions and mandates. The agreement was that players didn’t have to sing it, but they needed to stay. And guess what happened, two sports had players who threatened to sit out and boycott the season. Coaches caved, and here we are. Its not surprising at all that those two sports are the biggest clusterfucks on campus right now, being led by two head coaches who have no business coaching at the University of Texas.
  20. No they don’t. Several of them have, and it’s fallen on deaf ears. Look no further than the Twitter exchange between Chris Brown and Charles Omenihu. My one chief complaint about the 18-22 crowd, and the 15-18 behind them, is they are unwilling to have any dialogue about change. They demand change, but only in the way they see fit. There is no happy medium, no give and take...it’s all or nothing.
  21. Currently, football and soccer are the only two sports not staying for the eyes. Coincidentally, they are the teams where majority of the “activists” came from. Also coincidentally, they are the two teams that are complete shit shows at the moment.
  22. My thoughts exactly. It's the fucking OU game, and you sit out with an injured toe? WTF??? And you're supposed to be on the leadership council and a captain...great fucking example you set there.
  23. Ya, if we want a coaching change, I think this time the former players are going to have to push the narrative.
  24. I wonder if Rattler will be tweeting during halftime, or entering the portal after the game. Or is that only something the giant gaping vaginas do on this team.
  25. Y'all keep bitching about Sam, but clearly our WR corp can't get open. And we can't screen because we are having to keep the RB in to help with the pass rush.
