  1. I was close, I said it would be Highland Parks number + 1.
  2. Ironically, I just got a text from my inside person (same one that gave me the earful in October about the Eagles issue). Beck and Warehime will stay on through the bowl, but then are out. New hires will be made by the new OC. One of the new hires could be someone already on staff, but that's pending other issues getting worked out first. Hand and Drayton are safe. I asked about the defensive side, and there has been no word on Giles, Washington or Naivar long term. With these they are probably going to be interviewing for their jobs with the new DC.
  3. We have to retain a few coaches who can help get us to the bowl game. I think a second purge will be done right after the bowl game. The only person left that is shocking to me right now is Warehime. Seriously, WTF
  4. If it's Ash (or even if it's not), I hope BC is out on the trail starting at the houses of Broughton, Collins, Fillinger, Dorbah and Umanmeinlen to start the conversation about moving to a 4-3.
  5. I made these two posts on Oct. 28th in the Fire Herman thread: 100% matches up with Anwar's Twitter post earlier today about a certain coach.
  6. I also hope Samples is Southbound 35 right about now, with his best interviewing suit on and ready to go.
  7. My guess is Beck will be the TE coach and remain as one of our big recruiters. I'm wondering why we haven't heard of Warehime's fate yet...WTF is that spare still doing here (as of this minute)?
  8. Which podcast is this? (name)
  9. Can we get a refresher?
  10. This! It's 100% arrogance. The guys on the Hornscast podcast talked about this very thing, that our HC's arrogance leads him to the opinion that we are just better than everyone else, player for player, and thus we should just line up beat the people in front of us. They talked about how our playbook has had no wrinkles added since LSU, personnel groupings are the same per play, route trees are the exact same, etc. They said it's so basic and so obvious that really we don't even have to tip the plays, but that are tendencies are so lopsided we are easy to defend. I really don't understand how and why Herman is so smug and arrogant, it's amazing really.`
  11. I didn't say I agree, just that I think it happens. He's being given somewhat of a free pass due to injuries, plus the past few weeks being better overall. I think an absolute disaster against either Tech or the bowl game, or both, might change that. But as of right now I think he'll get a pass to next year.
  12. Here's what I think will happen... OC - new hire RB - Drayton stays OL - Hand stays TE/ST - I think this is the wild card position...if Beck wants to stay, he gets assigned here and continues to be an ace recruiter. If Beck is out, then I think either Corby Meekins gets reassigned back to this position or he is let go and David Beaty gets the spot. WR - new hire (hopefully Samples) DC - Orlando stays DL - Giles stays LB - this position is created by dropping an offensive coach DB - one of the two stays, not sure which, but if I had to guess I think Washington stays with CB and we get a new safeties coach (possibly Ash)
  13. Isn't everyone a potential candidate? In theory at least? Currently Brady is making no money with no title...call him on Saturday morning and make him say no. Give him a pay raise and title bum, beat LSU to the punch. And in reading that, Chip Brown is actually pretty accurate on a lot of that info.
  14. Careful or Revolution512 will come here to call you soft and a snowflake for claiming the coaches are throwing players under the bus. After the TCU game, Orlando made statements about the players not executing the plays, etc. Now Beck says it's the players fault that the called offense didn't work. Man I love this coaching staff.
  15. CJ in the NFL will carry on the brand of Texas players being soft. He'll play 4 games a year and be "injured" often, much like here.
  16. And therein lies the problem...no one is smarter than Tom Herman.
  17. I hope it's the "Win or GTFO" clause.
  18. Well, that outta sit well with the team...way to call them out dick wad.
  19. Are there any of those guys we could bring in as a DC? Or any of them that matches Tom's offensive identity for OC?
  20. Agreed, that's why I want to see what happens. You gave all of the reasons the team should have made the tournament. Even though it's non-rev, I think how he handles Soccer will be indicative of how he'll handle football or basketball. Whether it's small staff changes, whole sale changes, or a new HC, I just think what he does with soccer will give us an idea of what to expect in other sports.
  21. I actually don't buy the rift in the lockerroom being between older and younger players. I think Herman is spinning it that way, when in reality, it's between players and coaches. Instead of addressing that directly, he's bringing in the upperclassmen and trying to figure out from them why the underclassmen aren't buying in to the coaches. That's just an educated guess on my part, based on some of the things I know have happened in the lockerroom.
  22. I do not think Herman is going anywhere, nor should he, yet. However, if CDC is the AD I think he is, and hear he is, he and Herman will be having a very candid conversation about yesterday's press conference. The Head Coach at the University of Texas cannot act like a petulant child every time he is asked a tough question. And frankly, the media doesn't even ask the tough questions. It's a bad look. I do think his hand will be forced in making staff changes. I want to see what happens with the Women's Soccer coach (assuming they don't make the tournament) before I completely decide one way or another. The team is loaded with talent, played an easy schedule, and most likely will not make the tournament.
  23. I usually listed to the audio but missed it today, hopped on 104.9 right at the very end and listened to those guys thoughts and they absolutely roasted Herman today. Called him out repeatedly for his arrogance and for giving BS answers to every question.
  24. Straight out of the lockerroom actually. I was talking to someone yesterday about the game and how the team took it, and followed up with a question about Brennan Eagles. All of the info I gave was in the answer about Eagles. I was also told that several players have been pleaded with to not enter the portal, and as I said, there are a few who are thinking about redshirting this year to save a year of eligibility to enter the portal with. I was told that the biggest problem in the lockerroom is that what Herman preaches is not what's being practiced. From Herman --> Coaches --> Players there is a lack in execution of expectations. Some players are required to follow them, some are not. Some coaches hold their groups accountable, some don't. I wrote about this in the Row The Boat thread. Bag on Fleck if you want, but the guy has a vision for his program, sets the standards and expects people to follow. He doesn't coach any particular unit, but instead motivates all of them. Herman seems to want to have his hand in every group, while trying to run the offense, while trying to be the Head Coach, at a University where just being the Head Coach is grossly time demanding. He needs to focus on being great at one thing (the thing we hired him for) instead of half-assing everything. He can start by getting rid of the dead weight coaches who can't or won't follow his expectations. I was told once that "great head coaches hire assistants who are better than them, or who push them to be better." The problem with Herman is his own self-inflated ego and mindset that he's already the greatest thing in the room.
  25. Educated Guess: Changes will be coming in the offseason, either by choice or by an ultimatum handed down to Herman. Facts: Herman has completely lost the lockerroom. It has become an us vs. them scenario, where players have quit on or given up on the coaches. Look no further than Sam's "we need to come together" comments, or the Brennan Eagles situation (which resulted in an argument between him and Meh). I'll go further and say that people should start connecting the dots between the transfer portal and players who are "wanting to redshirt".
