2025 Celebrity Death Pool
I have the nagging sense that I picked him a few years ago. Seems like one of those unsurprising kinds of deaths.

Version upgrade requires new theme
I expect that this was posted in jest, but this is my initial reaction to 10 seconds of looking at the demo link. I would prefer to keep the interface as as simple (and as consistent with the current layout) as possible. The only thing I would change about the current setup is to bring back rep comments. *Disclaimer - I really, truly, and perhaps even irrationally hate "change for the sake of change." Not saying that's what motivates @immamac here, but I'm a big fan of "if it isn't broken, don't fix it," especially if "fixing it" requires learning a new way to do an old and familiar task. To me, that's not improving the user experience, it's inconveniencing users for the sake of vanity and/or "validating" the importance to the organization of whoever has implemented the change.

Shit My Kid Says
I had to pull one of his teeth tonight. It bled a little bit, and when he saw himself with a mouth partly full of blood, he said (in his best "monster" or "bad guy" voice), "I've eaten five kids" and then spit a bunch of blood in the sink.

I still remember the "eureka moment" when I realized that it was a genie in a turban on the Aladdin's Castle token, and not some kind of strange Slimer- or Jabba-esque blob creature.

Guy Ritchie + Tom Hardy = Mobland
Yeah, but then you don't get to have a laugh each time the song arrives at the maximally incongruous "drowning person's first gasp of air" noise.

Independence Day 2025
These were buy one, get one. I lit the first one on the night of Biden's inauguration. I've been saving this one...

Classic Car thread
Probably posted 85+% of these in past years, but here are some shots of the paddock for the vintage cars at last week's IndyCar race at RoadAmerica. The sprint car and the Dallara "pace car" (driven by Al Unser, Jr.) are both new this year.

You can also use a yellow highlighter. Maybe not as easily at the store, but rather when left alone in someone's kitchen.

Depends on the cop, I suppose. Wouldn't be surprised if most cops give them a wide berth just to avoid the inconvenience of any interaction, while others probably seek the opportunity to flex their authoritah.- Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook

If you drive down at least as far as Marathon, stop at Keys Fisheries for a lobster reuben (it's expensive, but easily large enough for two) even if you're not a fan of normal reubens. The sauerkraut is very mild and doesn't overwhelm the lobster. Also eat your weight in stone crab claws right off the boat (all the claws in Miami come through here first). There's a cozy little tree house-like "crows nest" bar that's a nice place to watch the sunset. https://www.keysfisheries.com/menu/ If you aren't going down to the Keys but are looking for oddball attractions in south Dade County, airboat rides through the Everglades and an afternoon at the alligator farm is entertaining enough. https://everglades.com/ And I would be remiss if I didn't give a plug to Monkey Jungle - "where the monkeys are free and the people are caged!" Won't keep your interest all day, but it's a fun hour or two. https://www.monkeyjungle.com/- Things you really just don't get...
I installed an aftermarket train horn on my car when I lived in Miami. It eventually blew out during extended use when some dipshit was trying merge into me before a bridge crossing while he attempted to pass everyone on the shoulder. - The New Car Fanatic Thread
