  1. It's not done by a phone survey anymore. Hasn't been that way for a long time. They use PPMs, which are like pagers They send those out to qualified radio listeners who wear them 24/7 and they record their listening habits. That's where the ratings come from. X number of PPMs in the market, results extrapolated to fit to the number of radio listeners in the market (97% of any market). And you're 100% correct- streaming sessions are easier to track. But no one does because the streaming audience is literally so small that no one cares. Ratings are for media buyers. Try to sell streaming by itself - as a solution - to a media buyer and they'll laugh at you. No, but thanks for the set up. Who else heard a Shan Shariff voiced My Computer Career spot at 4:15 during the Hardline? What a shit show. Great timing. Lol. Why do all Ticket P1s think their particular listening habits represent the entire market? I'd think y'all would embrace exclusivity as hard as you're hanging on to old ratings books like grim death. By the way- I looked at the ratings today after that Peter Welpton reddit horse shit. The ratings haven't changed. And 10-3 on the Ticket is getting assraped.
  2. I just noticed a big fat mason jar of the Alton nog peeking at me from the back of the fridge. I made it a week before Christmas. Looking at this quote from the recipe, it sounds like I might need to have a drink.
  3. So y'all are those dudes I hear when they're on remote trying to laugh loud enough to be heard on the air right? Probably standing in front of the broadcast table drinking a beer and high fiving people and shit. Am I close?
  4. It does count. Just not audited like PPM. So the Ticket figured that out and decided they'd just tell people that everyone in DFW is streaming their shit all the time and no one is gonna call them on it. Meanwhile the spots you hear on the stream are going for $10 per (or flat out given away as added value), while the same spot on terrestrial might go for $400+.
  5. Duh. Lol. You know how I know that was written by someone at the Ticket? What a fucking joke.
  6. I also love/appreciate a well placed roundabout.
  7. I like the Hardline. I only lie about ratings for Norm and no-Gordo Musers segments.
  8. Holy shit I'm old enough that someone is explaining who Scott Murray is on a Dallas thread. Fuck me.
  9. So I guess the Ticket just partnered with a nationally syndicated show for evenings to replace Ferrall. Fox this time. Caught the first of it last night in the car. The guy (didnt catch his name) started off by thanking Jeff Catlin, and then going on and on about his amazing Jerry Jones impression and how he was going to use it all the time for the listeners in Dallas. He even did it for a minute. It was terrible of course. Had to figure Cat was somewhere listening and shaking his head.
  10. Hahahaha. I wasn't cutting on you @Drew. Just saying I didn't think there was any chance you were a South Dallas guy. Guess I stand corrected. I grew up in Lancaster- my mom still lives there.
  11. I see an overhead shot of a pure white goat hugging another white goat while pooping. And I want to eat all of it, Fuck man when are we done with this shit I'm losing it.
  12. You know how I know you've never been to Duncanville/Desoto? JFC. Drew lives in the sunny south Dallas burbs? No. And Jake is awesome. If y'all were listening to body count talk tonight he owned the shit outta that.
  13. Shocking that you stuck it out ^. Let me guess- you ordered something super gay like fajitas amirite? And your order had like 15 different special instructions, without question.
  14. I started to translate that but decided it wouldn't be Christian of me.
  15. I've always wondered about that guy. Wtf is his story? His little snippets (that have no sponsor if I remember correctly) point out the most obvious shit- shit we've all been aware of forever. And I've never heard anyone on the Ticket make fun of him (because he's paying a bunch of money for spots that don't promote anything?). It's all very confusing.
  16. Cried a little. Don't care. Thanks for the heads up @Dr Fear
  17. Eye-opening. https://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2020/5/3/21245396/dallas-mavericks-2011-champions-dirk-nowitzki-great-all-time-team
  18. Going with chicken pot pie pizza. And I would definitely eat that.
  19. Yeah but I bet you at least brown the dogs up in a pan before cutting them up/throwing them in. That cookbook you'r talking about was telling these moms to throw them in cold most of the time, guaranteed.
  20. Any kid that grew up in this country in the 60s-80s should get a medal of valor for eating the shit our mother's would whip up at home. Especially the 60s. Jello salads, "chicken a la king," all that shit. Luckily I was an 80s kid, so the crazy shit that these companies were tricking housewives into making (torturing their families with) at home had tapered off quite a bit. Still "kit" meals, but at least we were getting sloppy joes and Rice A Roni.
