  1. Apparently there's not a single place in the Dallas area that sells parisa (I know, "duh"). Dying to try some.
  2. I've been to a few over the years, yes. It's been a long time though. My favorite moment was watching some dude in a Cowboys jersey asking Johnny "Showtime" Barnes for his autograph.
  3. Giggle. That's very Dallas of you. You ever been to a Ticket event? You're hanging with some seriously select company my man.
  4. MF'ING POS DP. WHY?
  5. Another one for you to try @Mr.Hovis- it's in between where you're staying and where you'e playing. I had what was maybe the best breakfast taco I've ever eaten today at Mexican Cactus in Allen. 121 and Watters. On a fresh made flour tortilla. Thought it was weird when I saw mozzarella, but they throw it on the flat grill first so it's crispy on one side and still sorta bubbly/melty on the other. So damn good. Also got a carne asada taco (on fresh corn), which was pretty standard but the ingredients were top notch. Good guac to start, and they had several good housemade sauces as well. It's counter service, but they do have a liquor license. Awesome service too. They're still in the soft opening stage, but I'm not sure why- they have a full menu and the kitchen is humming. https://mexicancactustacobar.com/
  6. The Ticket deserves whatever happens to them for that "LET"S GO DRINK SOME BEER!" promo alone.
  7. That's a pretty good movie.
  8. Fair. As long as we're recognizing that your favorite radio personalities might be huge pieces of shit.
  9. Go to Hutchins for sure @Mr.Hovis. They have two locs, and they're both good for you. There's one by your hotel at Preston & Main, and there's also the original near downtown McKinney. They have Texas Twinkies on the weekend. Get a few and thank me later.
  10. Stop it. The mere presence of Steve Dennis makes that statement total bs.
  11. Well, I had the same argument with some folks on here over a year ago, so it's been a thing for a while. They've been slowly trending upward for over five years.
  12. You're right @Catdaddyhorn- it is easier/more accurate. A station knows the exact number of times they're streamed each month, and the exact number of unique users. Radio is done by PPM. It's a listening device, kinda like a pager. There are however many thousand people carrying them and having their listening habits recorded, then the numbers are extrapolated out based on the overall radio listenership.
  13. Sorry I'm a little late with this @futureman. I beg your pardon. Looks like at any given time during prime hours (6a-7p), there are 1800 people streaming the Ticket.
  14. The gist was "I know we're (media) all in this together and it's really not cool to shit on other media members, but I think we can all agree that Richie Whitt and Mike Fisher are the worst people on the planet."
  15. Well, they might be winning some weekend dayparts. You never know. I'll check that for ya too.
  16. Sure thing buddy. Or you could just be like @Surly Bevo and not care, because what the fuck difference does it make.
  17. As much as I like Jake, he looks like a huge bitch on that tweet. And he's not contradicting anything Richie wrote.
  18. 100% correct. Streaming numbers are minuscule and damn near meaningless. The behaviors of the most religious P1 are not representative of the audience as a whole. No one in radio gives a shit about the streaming audience. A $400 terrestrial spot goes for $3-$10 on the stream. I know that won't satisfy fanboy though so I'll take a look at those numbers on Monday.
  19. I just rewatched the last minute of regulation and vomited all over myself.
  20. I'm in, but I'm Team Corby/Danny/Jake.
  21. When I said "double up" it was for effect and to give some perspective to how crazy this shit is. They're obviously not doing it consistently nor do I think it will become the norm. But they absolutely doubled them up in middays last month: It was 5.5 to 3.2 in prime, so only 60% higher in the ratings, not quite 100%. Guess you win @futureman Other than that, you have no idea what you're talking about, so it's weird that you're so adamant. 7.5m people in DFW and you know how many of them are listening to the Fan? I told y'all over a year ago that the Fan was already killing the Ticket in Tarrant County. Like @Genco said above, aside from a couple of guys, even the people on this thread seem to hate the majority of the personalities on the station. But this is just so difficult to believe. You (easily) got me out of my three point stance though, so congrats.
  22. There's some truth to that, but both stations benefit from the Cowboys' success. You don't double up the competition based on the Cowboys alone.
  23. Hahahahahahaha. I'm not going to get into another ratings scruff, just saying it's true. I looked at the book (for October anyway).
  24. Well this helps explain the changes they made to the morning show. Crazy that the fan finally gets some huge wins then up and let 1/3 of their lineup walk away. https://www.pressboxdfw.com/whitts-end-11-1-19/
